View of the river from the footbridge
    Bev M.

Our stay was beyond what we expected. Our room faced the river, and was comfortable with a gluten-free oat bar every day that we loved. But the service overall really elevated our experience. The dining room and pub are both amazing. The dining experience was a real pleasure, even sublime, especially as the staff was very careful about accommodating our dietary restrictions. We loved that we could walk the footbridge into the village without having to walk where there's traffic. Logistics were simplified for us by booking the hotel shuttle to Moraine Lake as well as borrowing bear spray. Sadly, our stay was too short to take advantage of the spa services so I can't speak to that. We'd love to return and have more time to try the spa.

Very comfortable clean room. Nice toiletries and lots of towels . Easy walk to Lake Louise Village and a short drive to the lake. Outdoor parking near the front entrance. The dining room is excellent. Complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby.

After staying at the Post Hotel 3x...we can honestly say this is our favorite hotel anywhere (including all over the USA & Europe) - it is not surprising it is #17 in the World. We love the rooms (gotta stay in one with a fireplace) && The Stubli Fondue Restaurant (Pierre) , the Outpost Pub (Nick) && the Sir Norman Lounge...the main Dining Room is great for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner (Jen). The Lounge is romantic & intimate - the Bartender, Cameron was fabulous &&& we enjoyed listening to the wonderful pianist, Michael...perfect combination for a wonderful day in this spectacular hotel.

There's few decent choices in Lake Louise for accommodations, and we decided to splurge on 2 nights at the Post Hotel and Spa at the end of July during our Canadian Rocky vacation. After booking our room well in advance (November 2017 for July 2018 stay), I decided to check back on the cabin situation after reading some reviews about them. There was one cabin left - the Whitehorn Cabin, and we switched. It's the smallest of all the cabins with just 210 sq ft of space, it was perfect for 2 travelers - albeit, our suitcases were a bit cramped but for 2 nights we didn't mind. The big benefit of staying in the cabins is that we sat directly on the Bow River and listened to the rushing water as we drifted to sleep each night. Each cabin comes with their own set of Adirondack chairs which we really enjoyed relaxing in each night with a glass of wine. The room itself has a queen bed and 2 chairs and a tv. The chairs and tv area, in my opinion, is unnecessary - we just used it as a luggage/clothing drop spot. The bed was super comfortable and the sheets were crisp, clean, and super soft! The bathroom, although TINY lacked zero amenities. The jade tiles and glass shower, plus amazing water pressure and fluffy towels, helped wash away all of the days dirt and grime from our hikes. The room even comes with a wood burning fireplace, which is probably amazing during the winter but we didn't find need for in July. The room doesn't have AC (which I think it true for a lot of places in Lake Louise), but the low was around 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit which felt amazing. We checked out the jacuzzi and pool area one afternoon in the spa area. There were towels available for us, and a work out room next door too. The hot tub was super comfortable and we had the whole pool room to ourself for the 45 mins we'd been there. A few of the reviews mentioned lack of privacy in the cabins - at dusk some of the hotel guests would walk along the river and explore the property. Nobody actually looked into our cabin (thank goodness), but still felt a bit close for comfort with our windows open. The Whitehorn cabin is right in front of the hotel on the main path if you're exploring the water, so it's to be expected. Everyday between 3-6 the hotel offers complimentary coffee and tea that you can take while relaxing in their chairs under an umbrella on the lawn. The staff is super friendly and helpful - and their coffee is pretty good, too! The hotel is walking distance to a little 'village' which is more of a strip mall, complete with a grocery store, liquor store, deli spot, souvenir shop, and bus stop. We had a car while we were here, and spent most of the days out exploring trails at Moraine Lake and Lake Louise - but evenings almost everything was super close. The Fairmont was less than a 10 minute drive as well.

First of all, these views are AMAZING!! I'm blown away by the first class service and beautiful scenery. I travel often and this is hands downt he best service I've ever received. The staff was just so helpful on all accounts and super friendly. Booking a spa for my mom was a breeze and they were able to make last minute changes as well. This is a 10 minute drive to lake louise and a 15 minute drive to lake moraine. All worth catching. Theres a 'mini' villiage area where you can get food, ice cream, drinks and souvys all walking distance from the hotel. There is also a bus stop outside the village that can take you to Banff, Yoho, etc. If I am ever looking for a retreat, this would be the place. Can't wait to go back.

Bow river right behind private villas and rooms

so nice to be far away from the insanity of banff - it was like disneyland there when we stopped by for lunch one afternoon. seriously it was crazy, parking insane and so many people everywhere!! also went to the fairmont, also disneyland-esque. insane numbers of people everywhere. so to get back to our hotel, was so nice. quiet, lovely, right next to the bow river. pay extra to get the "good" side, which has views of the river. would be nice to be able to afford those private villas, look like something out of a fairy tale. but our room had a garden lanai, looked out on the river, quiet. the rooms was big, bathroom good. yes a little older finishings but i think they are going for quaint. location close to freeway, close to samson mall where there is breakfast places and small market. pool, steam room really nice. open til 9pm, enjoy after dinner, looking out at sky, very clean and well kept. front desk staff so friendly and happy and helpful. spa - aestheticians really warm and friendly. the steam room, change room, waiting room lovely. got plenty of tea in french press, fresh fruit, relaxing fire and fountain. the two negatives were some of the staff - and this is unwelcome given the $400 per night price tag. the first were the bell men - handsome, nice to look at, first people you meet when pulling up to the hotel. so they should be trained to open the car doors, unload the luggage, ask if we are checking in, tell us self parking is available etc. not just stand there and watch us get of car looking around in confusion, unload our luggage ourselves and then ask, do we need help? the second staff member that didn't fit was the receptionist at the spa. very surly, unhelpful, when we couldn't find times for our treatments that coincided, seemed irritated and annoyed that we couldn't figure it out. seriously, we are paying $160 per treatment, we expect more. i don't think that they think they are better or too posh as some mentioned in other reviews. i think they are young and poorly trained. so the owners should really think about training these people who are the face of their institution - maybe they should take lessons from the front desk people or from the people who work at the dining room like mario and joshua. these people are the epitome of customer service and helped us to recover the enjoyment of our stay here. if not for those negatives, this woulda been a 5 star review.

This hotel is a 10 star hotel. The rooms, the staff the surroundings are beyond magnificent. A Five minute drive to Lake Louise where you will visit The magnificent lake and château with 15,000 other tourists... although it's beautiful up there I might as well check into Disneyland! The Post Hotel is first class.

When I came in the Summer of 2025, I noticed they use the 1883 Lavender syrup from France. Sounds fancy right? But it actually doesn't use any actual lavender syrup; the flavor is all artificial. It also contains Red 40 which has already been known to be a mutagen for 20+ years BEFORE, before RFK. My syrup had developed a microbial (bacterial most likely) biofilm and growths within the syrup. My syrup still has 6 months before the expiration date. If the syrup is being used quickly, then maybe it isn't a problem, but I don't think lavender is a super popular flavor. So if you're at the Fairmont, check the bottles of syrup flavorings before you order, especially if it is the 1883 brand. Also, if you're staying at the Fairmont Hotel...why don't they just make lavender simple syrup in the kitchen? You mean to tell me this fancy hotel can't afford to make simple syrup? It tastes better too.

Apparently it's been snowing heavily and due to the heavy snowfall, the hotel could not put up the rink until it would stop snowing. Lots of people were hanging out on the lake. For the afternoon tea, I got the Egyptian chamomile tea. It had sweet elements to it and was considered a flavored tea. I did try it with sugar and milk. Although it didn't taste bad, I prefer to have my tea without anything. The tea itself was good enough for me. In addition to the tea, my meal came with a glass of prosecco. For the food, I got their basic menu which comes with 4 varieties of cake, 2 pastries, 3 sandwiches, a croissant and deviled egg. They offer different foods as well depending on your dietary needs. They have seafood, vegetarian, kids menu and I believe gluten free as well. Wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. My waiter was so kind and helpful. My view from my table was beautiful. We only went for dessert anyway so they really didn't mind. It was a nice atmosphere to just sit back & relax with some cheesecake. We also managed to grab some breakfast the day we were leaving & it was also very good. Like VERY good! I still dream of it to this day. The scenery alone is worth going back for. This lodge sits on the shores of Bow Lake amongst some of the most beautiful and, dare I say it, Instagram-able, mountains. There's a hike up to Bow Glacier Falls that is said to take about an hour & a half to get to and, judging by the pictures I've seen, a must see. I wasn't able to make the hike myself but am fully prepared to make the trip this year. I should add: this is an OLD lodge & does not have an elevator. I made the mistake of packing a suitcase. Next time I'll stick to backpacks. Much easier to lug up a couple flights of stairs (our room was on the top floor)! If you ever visit Num-Ti-Jah please use it as a chance to unplug & relax! It's an amazing place! I know I regret not slowing down & appreciating it more. It truly is a beautiful place.

It's a good area for a rest stop as in-between the drive, there's nothing but the remote great outdoors. At first, I was impressed upon arriving. The resort is not just a lodge, but serves as a gas station, gift shop, dining room and cafeteria. There's even a grocery store as well and a section for camping supplies. All this is offered among a terrific setting surrounded by the snowcapped mountains of the Canadian Rockies. I'm sure everyone's #1 complaint are the prices. I hate for money to be an issue especially when on vacation and enjoying life, but prices for everything was understandably increased. First off...gasoline. I guess if you're not desperate for fuel, definitely wait until arriving in Jasper or Lake Louise. I filled my tank ahead of time in Lake Louise so that was reassuring. The souvenirs at the gift shop were cool. But along the way in Banff and Lake Louise there were frequent chances to stock up on the usual knickknacks, so I resisted the urge to buy souvenirs. At the counter inside the gift shop there was a popcorn machine sending an intoxicating buttery smell throughout the store. I had to buy a bag and when I was told $12, I sort of did a doubletake reaction as if I were at the movies, lol. Beside the gift shop was a coffee, tea and hot chocolate station. The instructions were to purchase a cup from the checkout counter and then you had access to unlimited drinks for your visit. It was comforting having a hot drink for a chilly and overcast day. I indulged on that unlimited policy and gulped down 3 servings of hot chocolate, lol. I took my popcorn and hot chocolate and sat down inside the cafeteria. The cafeteria was deserted. And I didn't even look at what they were serving for lunch. I did notice some people walk through the cafeteria to get to the dining room for what's probably better food options. Unfortunately, there was no cell phone reception. I couldn't access Wi-Fi either and when I asked an employee about a possible Wi-Fi password, they gave me the thumbs down. Also, I considered charging my phone at the cafeteria but couldn't locate any electrical outlets beside the wall. In the end, I stepped outside to admire the views for a few moments before continuing on to Jasper. Overall, it was nice stopping here at The Crossing to take a break from the action and all the driving. I'd just maybe suggest waiting for better purchasing opportunities wherever your travels may take you along Icefields Parkway.
