Doctor is nice enough, but mostly it's convenient for us; it's close to home and school. The front office staff sucks, they are not warm, nor have customer service skills. What ruined my experience aside from a few other things through the years is today. I had an 8:30 appt I scheduled months out! My son's heart rate is extraordinarily high and I'm concerned. Also he was Dx "pre-diabetic" 6 months ago by this Dr. so I want to follow up on labs. I arrived and although their hours are listed as 8-5pm no on was there at 8:30. I waited and decided I would give them till 8:40am to show. I saw a car pull up to the back so I approached hoping it was staff, and it was. She stated they don't open until 9am... when I asked why would I get an 8:30am appt, she responded that sometimes the Dr. schedule's too early by mistake. She offered we could wait till 9am whenever Dr. shows, but this was so frustrating! My son has to get to school and I have to get to work. There's a reason for appointments!!! I'm just removing my boys from here and getting them in with a new Dr. because this is so unprofessional. Not to mention they aren't anything outstanding to begin with.

When I was going to…read moreestablish care for my newborn I explained that I would like to delay a couple of vaccines due to me, the mother, having multiple autoimmune conditions. I was placed on hold by the front desk for about 10 minutes while they "checked with the owner." I was then told that if we did not strictly follow the CDC vaccine schedule, we were not welcome as patients at this practice. There was no room for shared decision-making or consideration of individual medical history. Even though I myself am a health care provider as well. While vaccines are important, there is ongoing research and discussion around individualized timing in certain high-risk situations, including families with autoimmune histories. I never once said I wanted to refuse vaccination. Unfortunately, this practice does not allow for any flexibility or open conversation. If you are looking for a pediatrician who supports informed consent and personalized care, this may not be the right office for you.

Nurses are almost always warm and seem pleased to help out. MA's are interactive and listen well. Front end staff is almost always the same people you'll always see so it's great that they're friendly and helpful. Overall the office is well managed and I appreciate that. As a parent of a young toddler it's important for me to be able to be seen in a timely manner and they always are able to fit us in. New patient appts take a while so if you are expecting and need a fantastic Ped I highly recommend booking an appt at around the expected due date for Dr. Hogan. Dr. Chuong has been taking on all sick cases while she's out on mat-leave and Dr. Hogan has a fill in doc she trained for her clients. I haven't seen that doctor as I elected to only see her to minimize my child's interactions with additional medical staff (unless emergent) but I looked at her reviews and they're all stellar. Point is, nobody here is under qualified. They'll take great care of your littles and offer no additional stress to your already heavy load as a parent. No mom shaming, no unsolicited advice, just quality, competent care with a warm smile. I'm kind of shocked this hasn't received other reviews on Yelp so as an elite I feel it's my duty to let you all know how amazing they are. Hopefully I'll still be able to schedule with them after you all book your appts lol. Hope this review helps out!

Here are the facts: our health insurance paid the claim in full withe the provider contract amount. Insurance Payment Date: March 27, 2025 Insurance Check Cashed: March 31, 2025 Unauthorized Charge: $398.00 to our FSA Card on April 18, 2025 When we questioned this, instead of correcting their clear error, the billing manager was rude, condescending, and completely unprofessional. They pushed the responsibility back on us, despite having documentation in hand proving the insurance had already processed and paid the claim. Healthcare billing is already complicated for families, and you trust a pediatric office to handle things with integrity. Instead, Lone-Star Pediatrics showed a blatant disregard for both accuracy and honesty. This goes far beyond poor customer service--it borders on predatory billing behavior. We will never return to Lone-Star Pediatrics and strongly recommend other parents avoid this practice. If you value professionalism, accountability, and fair dealing, take your business elsewhere.

Our experience with Dr. Dollins was extremely disappointing and upsetting. Twelve hours after my…read morewife gave birth to our second daughter, Dr. Dollins made her break down in tears and feel like a terrible mother. She was condescending, dismissive, and made us feel deliberately belittled for asking reasonable questions. The issue began when we asked why the Hepatitis B vaccine needs to be administered on the first day of life. Instead of explaining with understanding or evidence, Dr. Dollins laughed at us and accused us of "relying on politics instead of science"--even though we had not mentioned anything political. She told us to "trust her and her research," yet provided no actual studies or scientific references, only personal opinions. We made it clear that we are not anti-vaccine, but that based on our own research, we believe the Hep B vaccine isn't immediately necessary for a low-risk newborn. When I asked how a baby could contract Hep B if the mother doesn't have it, she responded, "We're not here to judge, but life happens." That comment was dismissive and inappropriate, implying moral judgment rather than providing science-based guidance. When we declined the erythromycin ophthalmic ointment, she again laughed and sarcastically asked, "Why?" When I asked what it was for, she said, "For gonorrhea and chlamydia." I replied that my wife does not have either infection, and Dr. Dollins repeated, "Like I said, life happens." That statement was both offensive and suggestive--essentially implying infidelity. She then said, "Sorry, I don't want your daughter to go blind," to which I said, "Oh a fear tactic, I see." Her response: "Yep." Such behavior is unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable from a medical professional--especially when directed toward new parents hours after delivery. We hope this review serves as serious feedback that this type of treatment is not appropriate in any setting. Dr. Dollins owes my wife an apology.
