What a great spot that expanded to Apex! You certainly get the classic donut shop vibe when you walk in and the smells are overwhelmingly good. Only thing I wished was they had the space for some tables to be able to eat there. The staff are always helpful and somehow balance lines of customers with holding good conversations with you. I've really enjoyed getting to know them and appreciate how friendly they are to my toddler. Can't recommend enough that you try something new as I haven't had anything I didn't like to this point. The chocolate iced and bear claws are personal favorites. Can't go wrong with a bag of donut holes which are so good they can be eaten two at a time by a one year old. read more

If they don't have filled doughnuts on display that you want, just ask and they might have some unfilled in the back if they haven't time to fill them. I got a couple of lemon ones. However, if you really want a bear claw or a fritters and they are sold out by 10am on Sundays, go on Monday-Wednesday. I hear they aren't that busy then. I went around 10 am and the line was long but no one was in a bad mood. I mean just adding to my previous review after having eaten some more donuts and them being consistently amongst the best donuts ive ever had. The service is efficient with incredibly friendly staff. While the interior was a slight downtick for me before, the minimalist pick up to go window style of the shop has grown on me. The donuts are all made fresh and often come out still warm. The range of flavors is huge, they have everything from the most basic glazed, to fancier donuts that have multiple flavors. For each donut, they also often have multiple variations (powdered, glazed, different fillings, etc...). Sick of cake donuts (ie Duck Donuts). If you're a raised/yeast donut lover, Baker's Dozen is absolutely worth waking up early for. This place is a hidden gem is near Beaver Creek, and the donuts speak for themselves--fresh, fluffy, and full of flavor. That said, I prefer the Raleigh location but it's further. This location is new. I chose my usuals (raised glazed, raised chocolate iced, buttercream filled and the apple fritter). Everything was outstanding. As in Raleigh, the apple fritter was hands-down one of the best I've ever had--crispy edges, soft inside, and just the right amount of glaze. The glazed yeast donuts basically melt in your mouth. The staff were super friendly and patient and you can feel this will take on a small-town charm like the Raleigh location. Heads up: they sell out fast, especially on weekends. We got there around 8:15 AM on a Saturday, and a lot of the top picks were already going fast. Definitely go early! Highly recommend for anyone in the Apex or Holly Springs area. The BEST Donuts around! The consistency is perfect not dry, not crumbly but that nice slightly chewy, melts in your mouth consistency. Similar to Krispy Kreme ( but holds up better) in texture. The thing that really won me over is the sweetness level. It's not overly sweet. It's the sweetness of a donut you would eat in a dream, not usual reality where by the third bite you are like whoa it just tastes like processed sugar now. Every bite is consistent. It all blends really nicely together. We also had the Boston crème and the crème inside was pastry chef good quality, not artificial pudding taste like some places. Last week got an apple fritter and it was still warm OMG delicious. Their fritters are to die for with caramelized crispy edges and gooey deliciousness in the center. They have also added a maple bacon with really good flavorful chopped bacon. This place is popular, so get there early on the weekend for full selection. After hearing about a Baker's Dozen, I had to give them a try. I was in line on a Sunday by 7:30am thinking that was early enough. There was already a line of about 9 people patiently waiting in the store. There was one lady taking the orders and packaging up all the donut goodies. The shop is very simple and no frills. Trays of freshly made donuts , pricing signage and plain white cardboard boxes with the name of the business stamped on them. I heard about the famous apple fritters however they were already gone. I opted for 6 donuts and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was actually my favorite! They serve classic yeast donuts with glazed toppings, chocolate, sprinkles etc and also cake donuts. The twists also looked really good. Some people got donut holes and the line moved quickly. I haven't been to any other Baker's Dozen locations so can't compare however these are very tasty donuts and can see why people wait patiently in line for these boxes of goodness! read more

This is exactly what we were looking for! It's a small little shop with a wonderful selection of super fresh doughnuts! The apple fritters are perfect! Tons of apple and cinnamon crispy on the outside, soft and mealie on the inside. Old-fashioned plain are super as well. They do not skimp on the filling for the filled donuts. Baker's Dozen is so much better than those popular donut chains. And the price is much less than what you would pay elsewhere. It's not that the donuts aren't good. I was excited about this new location near me opening. But I've made the trip to the store four times and they've been closed three of those times. My daughter and I stopped in today a little after noon and much of the case was wiped out. My daughter saw one last strawberry yeast donut and knew that was the one for her! The young man behind the counter was helping us and I told him he could go ahead and bag up some donut holes while I figured out exactly how many donuts we would get. A lady came in behind us and was looking at the case when my daughter repeated multiple times she wanted the pink donut and I assured her I would get her one and we would get a few others to take home too. As I placed my order for the strawberry donut, a couple bacon maple donuts and cinnamon sugar donuts, the lady who had come in behind us got another employee to swoop in and grab the last strawberry donut before the employee helping us could box it up. When the lady heard the employee helping us tell me and my daughter the last strawberry donut was taken by the other customer she gave an insincere "sorry" refused to look us in the face, and scurried out with her box. I was shocked she intentionally skipped the line to steal a donut from a small child, I know she heard my daughter repeatedly ask for it and me tell her we would get it. It's just a donut, not the end of the world, but it crushed my daughter. The sweet man helping us said if we could wait for another batch to be made he would get a strawberry donut for my daughter, his treat. We thanked him but told him not to worry about it, we would come back another day. I was touched that this young man who doesn't know my daughter and didn't owe us anything wanted to make up for someone else's unkindness. What a gem of an employee! I hope the owner sees this post and congratulates his team member for excellent service, and more importantly, having good character. read more

What a horrible experience. Went in yesterday to purchase a dozen so I can surprise some very hungry people and 95% of their racks were empty. By the time I got to the front there were only two kinds left. I asked if there were anymore donuts coming out and she looked annoyed and went back and said no, the guys are just mixing the dough. I ended only getting two donuts instead of the dozen I had wanted and had to go somewhere else to pick up food. Very disappointing and poor time management. read more
