Ok. I've been here 3 years now and finally went. Did not love them. The donuts were way too hot. The icing just melts off. There is a difference between fresh and warm. I can't believe it took me this long to go to Duck Donuts. I happened to be near the post office on Wrenn and they were just calling my name. Since I have never been to Duck Donuts, the gentleman at the counter was very kind in explaining the options. A half dozen donuts were about $9 and you get a number and wait after you pay. We only waited a minute or two and were handed a hot box of fresh donuts. Social distancing is in place and everyone was wearing masks. When I had the donut at home, the soft, warm, melt-in-your mouth flavor was still fresh and the 6 donuts did not last long. Having moved here recently, the concept of only plain cake donuts is new to me. Personally, I suppose I like yeast donuts along with chocolate cake donuts. I liked the atmosphere of the place and like that they also donate to nonprofits too. I noticed that the glaze seems to melt somewhat within a few minutes since they put it onto warm donuts, I don't think that changed the flavor though.
