We welcome all fiddlers, violinists, and cellists alike, in a lovely country setting, easy to find and worth the drive. The workshop deals in all levels of work. From modest and economical repairs to meticulous restoration work on fine instruments; each gets the attention it needs. Our deep understanding of what makes these instruments work also supports a high level of tonal adjustment and set-up work. The retail shop is surprisingly well stocked with violins, violas, cellos, and their bows from economical to fine. All are set up conscientiously and guaranteed. We also supply a vast selection of strings, chinrests, shoulder rests, and all the accessories you need. It is a hands-on shop where you can find what works best for you. Violists- we don't forget you; you will be delighted with our inventory. We are very beginner friendly, patiently taking the time you need to get started right. Not ready to buy? You can start out with a good sounding rental. We are a small shop, so call ahead to make sure we have the time you need. Drop-ins welcome, by chance. Cheers. P.S. Established in 2005.

Driven by a deep fascination for the workings of the bowed string instruments, Mr Baker started his study and training decades ago, primarily under the guidance of the master Hans Jurgen Nebel. This is a living business, and growth never ceases.

David came to music and instrument work in midlife. Always active in repair and restoration of things, the cello pulled him into this world of deep fascination and lifelong study.
