This afternoon we stopped in at Renaissance while looking for a necklace and have to say that we enjoyed our time at the store. When we walked in we were quickly assisted by staff who made a point to try and find the perfect necklace. When we weren't able to find the one we were looking for, they told us that they would put a few together the next day so that we could see the options. This alone was incredible and we are excited to see what they come up with. This store also had an incredible selection of vintage jewelry. Overall the staff here is great, the merchandise is incredible, and the prices are reasonable. We will make it a point to stop here in the future as well as for our future necklace. read more

I had to pop on here to leave a rave review for this shop. My mother-in-law had passed away just a few weeks after we gave birth to our daughter. Our MIL had a cherished family birthstone ring, and we really wanted to try and get the latest stone into the ring before she was buried in it. I explained the situation / really tight time constraints and the Renaissance team absolutely came through for us. They told us not to worry and that they were on it. They prioritized our project and it was done within plenty of time; it looked perfect, clean and shiny. My MIL would have been over the moon if she could see it. Needless to say, this means a lot to all of us and I'm so grateful to Renaissance for their amazing customer service and craftsmanship. They absolutely exceeded our expectations. I paid for $175 an appraisal (my receipt says so). When I picked up the items and was told that they don't do appraisals but they gave me a quote for what they would pay me for each item instead. So I paid them to offer buy my items wholesale so they could turn around and sell the items at a profit. I asked them repeatedly to simply give the appraisals on the items and each time they talked in circles. I had a total of three conversations (all exactly the same) with them ending with the verbal agreement to redo the appraisal. It never happened. They were given over six months to resolve this and did absolutely nothing but waste my time. read more

Beautiful store front, and decent selection. I have been hunting for an engagement ring for weeks now. I couldn't find the style I was looking for. I felt akwardly uncomfortable, as if I was inconveniencing them, the sales person did pick up on that and gave me the option of making just what I was looking for however the timeframe and price was significantly higher than expected. I have received the most precious gifts from my love and all were purchased at Renaissance. The staff goes above and beyond in every way. Shortly before Christmas, I went to an event at the store with a friend and we had a wonderful time trying on all the incredible jewelry. Samantha, the sales associate, paid particularly close attention to my favorite items. It turns out that my boyfriend went to the store shortly after that, and Samantha showed him all of my favorite items. He ended up purchasing all of them and gave them to me on christmas! It was absolutely the best Christmas I could have asked for. A complete surprise and so unexpected. I spent hours wondering how he could have known! Great experience here picking out a gift for a loved one. I went in with something specific in mind, which I could not find, but found a beautiful one of a kind item instead. My partner and I came in on the last weekend of January and bought two wedding rings. It was such a great experience! Marissa showed us all of the unique pieces from estate sales and we had fun looking for what we needed and also talking to her about all of the great pieces they had. We spoke with Marissa and Dan for an hour or so before deciding to check out some other places. Without any pushing to sell us something, they wished us good luck finding what we needed. It was a little over an hour before we were back and ready to buy from them. The process was painless and they made it very fun for both of us. They are knowledgeable of diamonds, pearls, gold, etc. I own several gorgeous pieces that have come from here. This shop has some beautiful one-of-a-kind antique and estate jewelry, and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and all very nice. They did an amazing job with our wedding rings. I wanted a vintage or antique ring, while my husband preferred to wear a ring that nobody had worn before, and we both wanted a unique design. We selected a Victorian gold band with grapes and leaves on it, that fit me, and then Renaissance made a sand-cast copy of it in my husband's ring size! The two rings - old and new - match exactly and are just what we wanted. They couldn't be more beautiful! Renaissance even had the second ring ready a week earlier than they had estimated. We were thrilled with the price, the value and the great service at this lovely jewelry store. read more

When my (then) fiancée and I began to shop for an engagement ring for me, we went to Renaissance Fine Jewelry first because they have an excellent reputation and have handled my mom's jewelry needs for decades. I'm not an easy customer: I love the look of a delicate, detailed ring, but am often stacking wood, doing dishes or working on home repair projects and I know that realistically, I will never take my ring off to tackle these projects. Caitlyn worked with me and my fiancée to custom make a ring, within our budget, that I absolutely love the look of and that I have now been wearing for over a year and, even with all of the projects I take on, it has held up beautifully! Needless to say, we returned for my wedding ring. We found a perfect one right in the case! My fiancee's wedding ring was another challenge: his hands swell and his ring finger varies in size by up to 2.5 sizes over the course of a day (or sometimes an hour). My (now) husband also has a specific taste in rings and wanted a wider band that wasn't too shiny. After Caitlyn patiently and thoughtfully discussed this at length with us, she developed a design on the inside of the ring to accommodate Tyrel's changing ring size while designing the outside to match his taste exactly. I was so grateful that she designed a ring with his safety at the forefront of her mind (not cutting off blood flow to his finger and using materials that could be cut through by any EMT in case he ever injures the finger while doing house projects or working on cars). My husband loves the appearance of it even more than example rings he showed Caitlyn and he loves that it fits comfortably. Since buying our rings, we have gone back to Renaissance Fine Jewelry for simple things like checking the stones in my rings and to get my engagement ring cleaned before the wedding; we are always welcomed there and we will always use Renaissance Fine Jewelry for our jewelry needs. As a first-time customer, I am delighted with the attention and thoughtful service I experienced at Renaissance Fine Jewelry. I took a ring to be sized, and while I was there, Caitlyn noticed a problem with my earrings. Of course, she and Doug took care of it immediately. I have lived in Brattleboro previously for many years and I have walked by Renaissance many times. I always thought it was a really high-end jewelry store and that it would be way too expensive for me to buy anything. Then I finally went into the store. The first time I went in there I was looking for a Valentines gift for my boyfriend. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I was able to find the perfect watch for him for our first year anniversary. The prices were affordable and they have a wide variety of jewelry. Their estate jewelry collection is impressive and they carry lines from Pandora Jewelry and many others. Many of my friends own a Pandora bracelet and I am very happy to have a store close by where I can buy them presents. I am a student in college and even though I don't have a lot of money, I know I can go to Renaissance and pick our special gifts for my friends and family because of their affordable prices and great staff. I do not understand what happened to this store, but once they moved to their new location the service completely changed. Our family had used Renaissance for years. Before they moved, we chatted with the young woman who owns the store, who obviously cared a great deal about the community, and was very pleasant. Unfortunately, I cannot speak for the rest of the staff. Recently, a sentimental ring was ruined due to lack of communication on their part and they never called to tell me. I requested a refund or replacement, but my calls were not returned. The man I dealt with was insincere and kept promising to get back to me as he chomped on his gum when we spoke in person. Three and a half months later, I received a refund for my ring, since they could neither repair nor replace it. The older woman who gave me my refund was unapologetic and incredibly rude, especially when she refused to allow me to speak with the owner. Needless to say, we will not be using Renaissance Fine Jewelry in the future, and intend on warning others as well. It is unfortunate that what was once such a nice store with a kind owner turned into an out-of-place high end shop with pretentious and irresponsible staff. read more
