I ordered chocolate to make Christmas candy. Ordered in plenty of time to make the candy. Was notified the chocolate was shipped, however, UPS only showed the label was printed. Six days later the status was the same, still not on the way. I called and was told it had not been shipped because I did not instruct Bakers Authority to send the chocolate. Never received such a request. I then cancelled the order and was told my credit card was credited for the purchase. No credit appeared and now I checked and the chocolate is on the way. DON'T BUY FROM THESE SHYSTERS!!!! I ordered what I thought was going to be a 6 lb. brick of BELLA FRANCESCA low-moisture whole milk mozzarella, as pictured on their website. I should have noticed and been suspicious that the brand was not specified in the product description. They shipped me Jacobo's mozzarella, which has twice the sodium per serving. I wanted Bella Francesca specifically because of the much lower sodium content. When I emailed them asking for an authorized return, they asked me for pictures, including the packaging. Beware. Whatever you do, do not order from this company. I ordered the brown rice syrup in the 5 gallon pail and received it half spilled in the box, oozing out of the seams. I didn't think much of it as it could've been UPS's fault so I gave them a call to have it reshipped. Sandra told me she would need to file a claim and once they won the claim they would reship my item. I told her I couldn't wait as I needed it ASAP, and it wasn't my fault it came that way. She told me fine and rushed me off the phone. She asked for picture documentation of which I sent right away. 2 weeks later I didn't receive anything. I called to find out the status and Karen picked up the phone (Mind you these girls are absolutely miserable, mumbling into the phone with short answers like "huh? Ya? Don't know". When I explained to her what happened she said okay I'll ship it out, I said wait Sandra told me she'd ship it out 2 weeks ago. This is when Karen got bold and loud and said WELL IM IN CHARGE, NOT SANDRA AND IT SHIPS WHEN I SAY. And then of course she hung up on me. I called back, and she picked up yelling. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she said no one was there and she was in charge (solid power trip, it reminded me of when a parent puts a kid in charge for a few minutes while they head to the bathroom). Of course, like all cowards, she hung up on me again and I called at least 5 times after that and she would pick up and hang up without saying a word. 2 weeks after that incident I received and email from Sandra asking if I still wanted my order shipped? Seriously? What is going on with the company and does the owner have any idea what awful representation they have? They're running their business straight to the ground. I then spoke to Zomi the "supervisor" and she said Karen didn't want to talk to me anymore hence why she didn't send my package. She also said it's policy that they need to win the claim with UPS prior to reshipping the package. So let's get this straight, if you place an order with this company and something arrives damaged or spilling they hold on to your money until they win the claim with UPS. If they do not win the case they will dispute it until they do. It has been 6 weeks since the order has been placed and they have still not shipped it out the replacement. They're definitely crooks and have absolutely no integrity, professionalism or standards. It's a good website to get quality products. During COVID, it was hard to get ahold of products like bread flour and this was my go to spot during that time. Only thing keeping me from giving this website a 5 star or even a 4 star rating is due to the ridiculous price that is charged for shipping. Where I live, shipping from their store is $17.90. I would be spending between $55-$70 possibly even more just to buy a product from them. I remember even when I bought from them before, that was my issue with them. Since there is such a flour shortage at the moment I decided to order in bulk since we bake most of our own bread anyway. Got my order without any hiccups. I was pleasantly surprised by the speed at which my order was filled. I ordered on Saturday and my 3 x 5lbs bags of flour arrived on Tuesday. I was previously looking at the supermarkets and at the bloated prices on Amazon. Baker's Authority seemed like a great alternative and they delivered. All flour came in nice resealable bags that were also individually bagged in clear plastic with a knot. Nothing spilled, the one silver bag's seal was opened a bit but since the bag was folded over for shipping nothing spilled out. The silver bags made it easy to wipe down upon arrival giving a little extra peace of mind. I weighed the bags and everything was 5+LB, don't know the weight of the bags themselves but there was plenty of extra weight on the scale to compensate. Terrible customer service. I paid overnight shipping for a product ordered on a Wednesday, it arrived a week later. Customer service told me to read the fine print that the refrigerated items only ship on monday. How about block the "overnight" $55 charge function and stop screwing over your customers. Horrid customer service - no telephone, no online chat, only email!!! They are using the COVID situation to shield themselves from having to provide service. I ordered from them some yeast which is hard to near impossible to find right now due to COVID. I tried to cancel the order within 24 hours via email (since there was no other way to contact them). I was told this bunch of malarkey: "Unfortunately, your order was already printed and sent down to the warehouse to be packed and shipped. Due to the high volume of orders coming in now due to the coronavirus, we are unable to locate a specific label to not ship it. What can be done is you can reject the package once you receive it and when it comes back, we will refund everything except the shipping cost (both ways) and a 6% restocking fee. Stay safe! I received my order today and it was carefully packed and wrapped so nothing would be damaged in transit. Two weeks ago, I placed an order with Bakers Authority for some flour and yeast. They said they were in stock, but to expect some delays due to coronavirus. I understand these are difficult times, but after two weeks I had not heard anything back and whenever I checked the order status it showed it hadn't been shipped, and there was no indication that it had even been processed. I ended up placing an order for flour with a different company (who were super responsive and shipped the package out the following day!), and so I wanted to cancel my order with Bakers Authority and have it refunded. I emailed Bakers Authority and requested that they cancel my order, but they refused to do so. I was told that my order was already in the warehouse and although it hadn't been shipped my only option was to reject the package when I eventually receive it (and cover the cost of shipping for both directions). I understand flour is hard to find right now, and that there is huge demand. But I feel it is dishonest for a business to say they are in stock with a product, and continue to accept orders, when they cannot keep up with demand. A reasonable person who places an order would not expect it to take 2+ weeks for it to even leave the warehouse. As I am writing this my order status still says it hasn't been shipped. This place was on the internet for all baking foods you might need. I ordered a case of their Golden delicious butter blocks (30)per case. I paid upfront along with fedex ground shipping. I also made attempts by email and 3 phone messages for a return call just in case. Not only could they not deliver my item without any prior knowledge or tracking # they packed it with a few little bags of ice. Not dry ice as needed on any perishable food product like butter, No return calls a day after order or any kind of notification other than the evening by automatic mail thanking me for my order nothing else...the last I heard anything was 5days later at night when my neighbor knocked on my door to show me the package that was sent crushed and with a foul smell.I opened it to find not my ordered item but another brand they sent crushed with water all in it. The box was to big it was in ,the tape looked as it was retaped with a tire tread mark on it or was pushed accross the warehouse to get pushed into a wall... the butter date had been expired ...Nothing to secure my package or to keep the temperature as dry ice would have..contacted balers authority, and fed ex to find the company shipping uses their no return policy which allows fed ex shipping paid. No insurance just to save claims and to keep fedex filing any claims with no pro# numbers to track it or liability. They also use another number connected to the David rosen co. Starting looking for online sellers, I was dismayed at the negative reviews of many vendors, almost given up until I found Baker's Authority. We ordered 50lbs of King Arthur's bread flour, 5lbs of cinnamon, 5lbs of walnuts, and 5lbs of chia seeds. Everything arrived (to Virginia) less than two weeks after we ordered, in two shipments. The 5lb bags came first and the flour second. No issues with any of the products. These were ordered in April 2020, during COVID-19. I'd begun using bakers authority in March 2020 because they were the only ones with flour in stock. They seemed fine with low prices. After a while I got my first damaged package. I took some pictures and sent in a complaint just because the flour was unusable. I sent three pictures that clearly showed a bag of flour that had been busted open, and a big hole in the plastic bag that sealed the flour bag. BUYER BEWARE: should you experience a damaged delivery it is essential to take pictures of every detail of the delivery otherwise they won't even entertain your complaint. I was burnt because I'd take a few picture but already thrown away the damaged box and taken the bag of flour out to examine the damages. Here's what they require 1. A photo of the damaged item 2. A photo showing the damaged merchandise, inside the original box, with all of the original cushioning (picture should show the placement of the merchandise and packaging inside the box) 3. A photo of the packaging material used inside the box (e.g. bubble wrap, Styrofoam peanuts, cardboard dividers, etc.) 4. A close-up photo of the shipping label with tracking number (please zoom in enough to read the tracking number, which usually begins with 1Z) 5. A close-up photo of the box manufacturer's certificate (BMC), if available (The BMC is a round stamp that details either the bursting strength of the box or the edge crush rating of the box.) (The BMC is generally found on a bottom flap on the outside of a corrugated cardboard box.) 6. Two photos displaying all six sides of the package (One photo should display the top and two sides. The second photo should display the bottom and the opposite sides.) 7. Dimensions of the box, including the package height, length, and width While these aren't necessarily unreasonable, it's clear that they put no faith in their customers. Baker's Authority has been around for 100 years and carries over 4,000 products related to baking. Sadly they don't sell to consumers, but if you know a baker they can get almost anything you need from Baker's Authority. I tried finding out if they carry Monocalcium Phosphate (used in baking powder) since it wasn't listed on their site. Got a response from their sales guy Ron, but once he heard I only needed a 50lb bag never heard back. Oh well, hopefully you have better luck! For me the hunt goes on. read more

I placed an order on April 16th. There has been no communication about the order, and it hasn't shipped. I requested a cancellation and they said the order was sent to the warehouse to be shipped so they were unable to cancel it. There is still no shipping/tracking so I do not see why this order simply can't be cancelled and refunded. Clearly there is a lot of demand for these products.
