A FUN, HOMETOWN TEAM ENVIRONMENT! It's been a pleasure getting to see the Bakersfield Condors live in their own backyard. I had the honor of seeing my Gulls take on the Condors during Country Night. It was a nice (winning) game for the Gulls and a wacky one for the Condors lol. Sorry not sorry Bako. Bakersfield has a good team, everyone has a bad night sometimes. Obviously, I was here supporting my team, however I couldn't help but cheer on the Condors' Luke Prokop! He's an icon and well-known in the AHL/hockey community for diversifying this game. I wish this team had better support for their diverse community and celebrating Luke. While I was at the game, a fan stated that country night felt like every other night as they play the same music every other game. I definitely felt an appeal for a country demographic, but if the Condors want to attract more fans, they need better community initiatives. I love the branding and partnership with the Edmonton Oilers. The Condors have incredible jerseys and never disappoint with their primary colors. However, I visited the merch booth at Dignity and the options were super limited. They only had a few standard shirts. I'm also an enamel pin collector, thankfully they had ONE pin, however they should make more. I beloved team should have more selection. The team has cute giveaways and on-ice attractions such as colorful zambonis and a McDonald's mini-blimp that drops mystery prizes. I saw special game day hats for sale ($10 trucker hats). It's easy to get in on the fun here! Overall, the staff were really nice (minus one merch booth dude). I was a visiting fan from SoCal and I was treated respectfully. There's a lot of potential here. We just need better merch at the games and more inclusion initiatives. Note: Season ticket holders receive access to a special entry line. They also have many perks like "takeover" events where Condors fans travel together on a bus to other arenas to cheer on their team. read more

The Bakersfield Condors. One of the truest Bakersfield staples. I've been going to Condors games since a kid and have so many great memories going to games all throughout my life. As long time regulars, my family finally became rink side season holders 3 years ago. We love it! Truly a great time for the whole family. The themed nights are always worth attending. Last night was the annual Teddy Bear Toss where we bring stuffed animals to local children through the hard work of the lovely folks at United Way. The Teddy Bear Toss is a must not miss Bakersfield event. The whole town comes out. They do a great job highlighting local performers and talents with the singer of The National Anthem and the entertainment for intermissions in between periods. The staff all throughout the stadium are exetemely kind and remember regular Condors fans if you say hello. Parking and access to the facility tends to be easy. Go Condors! Hit that dude... I have to give a huge shout out to the Bakersfield Condors. I love their commitment to community. This year marks the second time I have approached them requesting a donation bag for a Dress for Success Bakersfield fundraiser and they always come through. Funds raised at our Sneaker Ball being held in conjunction with The Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County will provide local men and women with the soft skills, support, and clothing needed to join the workforce. On a personal note, their games are FUN! My 2 year old grandson loves going to the games and just has to wear his Condors jersey whenever he sees it. We love the condors!!!! We go about twice every season. I love the vibes at the condors game. I love it when us fans get into the game. I especially love it when our condors are rough with the other team and there's a fight or two! It can get loud especially because the seats at Mechanics Bank Arena are so close to eachother and if people have noise makers or when kids scream but as long as you take tylenol or ibuprofen before, you'll be fine. This past Saturday was Panama-Buena Vista Union School District group night at the condors so people who purchased tickets early were chosen to experience the Fan Tunnel Experience and the Post Game Photo Experience. We got to high five the players and the mascots before they went on the ice and we got to go on the ice after the game and take pics. It was a great experience!!!! I LOVED it! The food sold at the arena of course is expensive but pretty good. Their monster nachos are delicious!!! Win or lose, the condors effort, teamwork and performance never disappoints! read more

Here's a ten year update! The Bakersfield Condors have made amazing improvements. The marketing team is always doing something that makes even hockey-haters enjoy the game! While the concessions are still lackluster this is more of an issue for Dignity Health Arena (formerly Rabobank Arena). I would love to see more local beers and food! With the loss of Bakersfield's basketball and baseball teams, the Bakersfield Condors have held on and dare I saw "clawed" their way to the top. Go Condors! read more

Bakersfield Condors' games are a no miss if you want to have a good time! Even during the COVID times they manage to keep people distanced and having fun. We came here for our Godson's birthday. His parents had arrange for him to get some souvenirs and maybe meet the players, but when we arrive it seem like they were not ready at all. My friend was saddened that it took several talks with the person in charge for them to make it right. At the end they went above and beyond for the birthday boy and his friends. They all got goodie bags with condor items and my godson got to ride the Zamboni!!! He was so happy. I would definitely recommend this place for a birthday or just a fun afternoon. Pop quiz: What would you pay for a small cup of ice, like 8 ice cubes? A few cents? Maybe nothing, like every other halfway decent business on Earth. Well, I was charged over $5. Yes, five dollars. For frozen tap water in a small cup. Naturally, I asked why anyone would charge that much for something so basic. The answer? "It's because of the vessel." The vessel. So apparently, you're not paying for the ice, you're paying for the honor of holding it in a cup. But here's the kicker: after trying to justify this absurd pricing, the employee then offered me two free meal vouchers for a game we'd have to pay extra to attend. So let me get this straight: full meals? Free. Cup of ice? Five bucks. We've spent thousands of dollars with this company, and this is the first time we've encountered this issue. But a basic cup of ice? That seems like too much to ask for. This company can't afford to give out a basic cup of ice without overcharging like it's made of diamonds. If other busy restaurants and venues can manage to give ice away for free, maybe it's time this place checks its budget or its priorities. I didn't realize I needed to take out a loan to hydrate. Condor's games are one of the funnest things to go to in Bakersfield. It's a couple hours of good fast pasted entertainment, win or lose. We have a pretty nice arena with all the digital boards you could want. I think the concessions and customer service could be worked on but it still doesn't take away from the hockey experience. If you're looking for something to do and you think that there is nothing besides eating or going to the movies check out a condors game on a Friday or Saturday night. Even if you are not a hockey fan you will quickly become one once you watch it in person. It is a whole different experience. -I suggest you get one of the bottom level seats because when you're up top it's not nearly as exciting or immersive. The closer to the ice the better. -Most of their food is decent. If you are in a club seat there are servers so you don't even need to find the different shops. The best deal in the house is the kids meal. It's a regular size hot dog with a decent amount of fries and a 16 oz. soda for $3.50. A hot dog alone is $4. I forget which stand it is but it's the one that sells pizzas. read more

I was in town so I decided to catch a hockey game. The parking and ticket price was great. Can't beat that, right?? I was in for a good evening for sure, so I thought. I went into the arena and got a beer then decided to get a grilled burger at Grill Works. What a joke this place is and it is filled with air head bumbling fools that could not find their way out of BAKERSFIELD if their life depended on it. I ordered a burger and waited. I watched as a lot of other people get their food. Finally a guy got a burger and he has ordered well after me. WTF??? I finally had to ask my server where my food was and she just said they must have forgotten it. Are you serious??? What a backward hick this server was. She must have had an IQ of about -10. With an IQ like that, I don't know how she was even breathing. I eventually had to ask her for my money back. When the lackluster so called manager came over to issue the refund it took her forever to open the register. Kind of shows what a brainless twit she was. This manager had to get another manager from somewhere to try to help her open the register. When the two of them finally got the register open and took forever, they had to try to count for the refund. They seemed to not have enough fingers to finish the count. This manager woman must have been from the short yellow bus. She was a total in-bread. Between the two, they finally figured out they had to refund me $9.50 exactly what I paid from the start of this experiment. This was really had for them to figure. Not sure why. Does Bakersfield not have a standard math class or were these two women a product of common core math???? It was too much to watch for sure.... When I finally got my refund I did not even get an "I'm sorry for the delay and we forgot your order." What a bunch of losers. This place sucks and made my night a lot less fun. A big Thank you losers at Grill Works. The management should fire anyone that cannot issue an apology for the very very poor service and lack of properly insuring customer service. If the manger wants to contact me I'm here. I would love to hear from a manager that can issue an apology for the crappy customer service and micro aggressive people that work here. There is no excuse for the terrible customer service treatment I received at this place. I will not be returning. We enjoy the Condors games! Hockey is in our blood so we go as often as we can to support them. The Teddy Bear toss for charity especially, is not to be missed! The games are a good night out but we try to eat before hand as the food they serve of course is junkfood, is sooo expensive and the line ups are long! It stinks to pay $13 US for a beer but that is stadiums for you, universally! The seats are standard, nowhere really has a bad view. One of the best parts of the game is the music they play and the fun games they play on the ice between periods. The staff are quite nice as well as most people there watching the game. The team may not be playing their best but boy do they have fun! Condors games are jam packed with entertainment from start to finish. First off, their announcer is a hoot! He's hilarious and instantly got the crowd on their feet! From the kiss cam to the oblivious can, he was cracking jokes and kept us engaged during the breaks! Usually people get up for refills between periods, but this guy was enough to keep us in our seats! I love the arena itself. Very clean and nice. Great scoreboard in the center. The games that they played between periods were so hilarious!!! Watching grown people run around in inflatable plastic balls and slipping around was so funny. I absolutely loved it! Prices in this arena are also affordable! Beers are $7.50 on draft and they've got some deliciously stinky garlic fries for $5. Definitely normal prices compared to most arenas! We recently stopped in at Rabobank to see a Bakersfield Condors game. Long gone are the days when the Condors were a low-level minor league team. They are now part of the AHL, which is basically the triple-A of hockey, and they are the top minor league team for the Edmonton Oilers. The overall experience was good, but the arena itself is not without its flaws. TICKETING: Whether you buy online or at the arena you are charged a $2/ticket facility fee. The Condors sell their tickets online through AXS.com, so if you buy online you are charged an additional $4.25-$8.25/ticket convenience fee. Due in part to the high online fees, the lines on game-day to get tickets are utterly absurd - we waited about 15 minutes to get tickets despite the fact five ticket windows were open plus a will-call window. To top it off, due to the mass of people trying to get tickets, the ticket agent at the window would only give us the best available at a certain price point but wouldn't let us request a specific section number only. On the plus side, I did see a guy give away two tickets that he couldn't use to a random fan in line making that fan's day. Plus one for humanity! PARKING: If you can't find free parking on the streets nearby, there's a lot on the other side of the train tracks charging $6, which seems a bit steep for a minor league hockey game. If the trains are barreling down the tracks you can take a bridge over the train crossing to get to/from the arena. CONCESSIONS: Rabobank has as many different concession items as you'd find at any major sporting event or arena, along with typical arena pricing. In addition to the usual hot dogs, you could get fries, a variety of Mexican items, and pizza. There were a few standalone beer stands as well as a Tap Room, which is more or less a bar with high tops and TVs. For those craving sweets Rabobank Arena has both ice cream and shaved ice. SEATING: The seats are cushioned and have cup holders, and the sight-lines are pretty good, but there isn't a lot of legroom. It doesn't help that people wouldn't stand up when fans were trying to get into and out of the row. Have some common sense people - if you're a big guy simply spreading your legs open doesn't provide enough room for someone to walk by you. CONCOURSES: The concourses in the arena are painted a dull steel/blue but there was enough room to walk around in between periods without bumping into people. Along the concourse walls are displays honoring local heroes such as founder Thomas Baker, NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick, and Raiders QB Derek Carr. Kids can have fun too with a Kids Zone featuring a small bounce house and mini-hockey. The mascots walk around the interior of the arena as well as the concourses for photos and high fives. THE GAME: Perhaps it was because we saw a game the day after Christmas, but the arena was probably no more than 1/3 full. There were a handful of Stockton fans that the Condors fans razzed a bit - all in good fun. The announcer tried to pump up the crowd but even though the Condors scored five goals in a win over Stockton, the place never got jumping. This was quality, high speed hockey with defenseman Brad Hunt scoring two goals getting called up to Edmonton the very next day. SOUVENIRS: There are random souvenir stands/tables scattered throughout the arena and they don't all have the same merchandise, so if you're looking for something specific you may have to do a lap. The deal of the day was a mini-puck (about 2" in diameter) with the Condors logo for just $1 (tax included). read more

First off I'm a a lifelong fan since the days of the Bakersfield Fog so this review may be a little biased. The condors hockey games are always fun. The team started out in the lower levels and literally knuckled their way up to the AHL by smashing faces and slashing Russians in the shins. Not only can the condors open a can or whoop ass. They have these little fast French-Canadians with names like Jean and Pierre that will literally skate circles around guys. Then they have some big cowboys from Minnesota and Wisconsin where there is nothing to do but play hockey and wrestle cows that look for souls to steal as they cross check opponents into depression. I would bet money the condors could easily beat some NHL teams, especially the Krappen, I mean kraken. The have the coolest name in hockey and seem to put pucks into nets like Joey chestnut puts hotdogs in his mouth. They even have a dancing grandma. Yes, a grandma. She use to play center for the condors back in the ECHL days. If you're ever in Bakersfield and need something to do, go to a condors game and watch these giant men lace up their skates and smash each other into the boards. So buck-up, recycle those beer cans, get a belly full of beer and nachos, and go support the only good thing we have going on this town! Go Condors! read more

OK, my last review was a couple years ago and we were not happy campers. Since then, we've been to a couple Condors game and have had wonderful experiences. My wife and I live in the Bay Area, but we're in Bakersfield several times a year on family matters. My elderly mother, who lives in Bakersfield, is a real trooper and loves going to, well, just about anything. The Condors games are fun and the facilities first rate. The AXS ticketing system pretty much sucks and I wish they'd go to StubHub or Ticketmaster or anything else. The N Street parking garage is, for the most part, very convenient, but pushing a 92 year old in a wheel chair through the garage and across the street requires some steady nerves. read more

They offer an exciting game, the venue is still top notch (even after 10+ yrs), the promotions are always interesting, the price is right, and they are actively involved in the community. I have been going to condors games for years and became a season ticket holder last season I feel every appreciated and I was given a free jersey for renewing my tickets as well as dollar soda refills and free parking for next season. I enjoy the chill of the ice at the arena and being able to buy full season tickets for the price of comparable seats and gas and parking at an LA Kings or Anaheim Ducks game. The marketing team is amazing and I have gotten beanies and baseball caps and welcome mats giveaways because they let even in every ticket plan holder 15 minutes early from the big 36 game full season plan to the small 3 game hat trick plan. I am very proud of the organization and excited for us moving up to AAA one step bellow the NHL next season. Go Condors read more

I am a hockey fan from the Fresno area. Experienced my first Bkfd Condors game this past weekend to see the new Oilers project---Zack Kassian. Great show. This hockey is just a step below the NHL, but these kids are trying to make the show, meaning there is lots of hits, competitiveness & these guys still drop the mitts. Based on a $20 admission ticket, I would say there isn't better entertainment for a sports fan in the Valley. The arena is a perfect size for hosting such an event ad I found the acoustics to be above average (at least at our seats.) The overall production would make some NHL teams jealous. Needless to say, we will be making the trip down much more frequently....Go Oilers Go! read more

This review will not do justice to my overall experience to this arena for the Condors hockey game. If I was not trying to set a better example for my young son who is the reason we are here I would've had the right to light the ticket and customer service group up publicly. We came prior to game time to purchase tickets for tonight's game and specifically requested the dog tickets but the inexperienced ticket agent at the time sold us tickets telling us they were the correct tickets. When arriving at the game we went to the ticket office to inquire how we would collect our good from our tickets. The inexperienced ticket agent that had helped us earlier purchase the tickets was again at the ticket window. He had that look of total confusion when we inquired about the tickets. He remembered us and was "trying" to figure something out. It was a total debacle. The whole process was excruciating. He even quoted me the wrong price again for the tickets. So when he came back and told me I'd have to pay an additional $60+. I asked what about the price you just quoted me. To which I got another blank and distant stare. The ABSOLUTE best part is what appeared to be two female managers offering no apologies or solutions to the mix up. I had to bite my tongue and walk away. I know what good customer service is, how to give it, and what should be done when your customer feels dissatisfied. Let's just say we will NEVER be back. Shame on the ticket staff and their inability to take care of their customers. read more
