Lily, who checked us in, was also our game guide, and she was awesome! The psych ward was trying to solve clues and puzzles to get locks unlocked. It was a blast just trying to figure out what to do with my family! Lily did have to assist us throughout our hour, but the fact she was watching us made it more fun. It was not awkward at all! We did not escape the psych ward, but I didn't want to stop. It was so fun and time went by so fast! We definitely can't wait to go again and try another room!

Erick- you are the man, your business is awesome and my friends and I appreciate the fun you let us have while we were escaping! It was clear when we got to Real Escape that this place is the real deal. There are nerds happily playing Magic across the parking lot and inside nerds were sportin Star Wars tattoos and making Harry Potter references. My nerd friends and I fit in instantly which was quite welcoming! I purchased the Groupon offered for six people for $89 and it was well worth the price. When we arrived we were all kinda disappointed from our previous activity not playing out the way it was supposed to and most of us had a strong buzz. Erick, the little prince that he is, somehow managed to wrangle us and somewhat explain what our goal was. Once we got in the room all six of us discussed that we weren't listening at all so we just started tearing the place apart looking for clues and keys. We had a walkie-talkie that we used for clues but it was also used for teasing and banter from Erick and his associate. After we escaped like the champions we are (with 7 minutes to spare), Erick offered to take us into their shop. In this shop they are creating Star Wars and Super Hero replicas they are selling, have parts and pieces of old rooms lying around and so much more. It was amazing. It was the hall of dreams!! Erick even showed me photos of his gorgeous daughter's costume makeup skills. We all had such a great time that before we even left the parking lot the six of use decided we were going to come back once the room switched to a new theme.

I decided to message them and ask them about the reviews, they brought it to my attention that there are new owners and the room that created so many of the negative reviews as in place when they took over, they have since removed it and added new rooms of their own. We booked both of their current rooms (Bayou Mystery and Bird Movie) this weekend for my wife's birthday to give it a shot. The Bayou mystery room is visually really nice. I like the setup a lot, the sounds/music is nice and the story was great. The room needs something else, I don't know exactly what but it needs something a little more innovative maybe? The room was just a few puzzles and a couple different types of locks, I was looking for something just a little more like a more interactive puzzle, something mechanical, idk just something to give it a little different feel than puzzle, lock, puzzle lock, rinse and repeat. The Bird Movie room is fantastic. It has a lot of different elements and the puzzles are fantastic. This room really had a great feel to it and it's really difficult, we enjoyed it a lot and would highly recommend it . Overall it was a great experience, the staff is very friendly and helpful. We let them know we love escape rooms but aren't great at them so they were very kind in giving us a nudge in the right direction when we got lost (which was often.) I highly recommend giving it a shot. It did get hot in the room and apparently it's even hotter in the summer so dress appropriately. Reservations were easy to make online and when I had issues and questions, the owner was very kind on the phone. During our session, there was another group that walked in so spontaneous fun was possible too. However, our game master was preoccupied so communication was slow during the game. I personally did the "Lost Treasure of Atlantis" which was labeled as hard difficulty. While the room was doable, I was disappointed in a puzzle that was uncalibrated. This issue resulted in the entire group being stuck for several minutes despite solving the puzzle. The room was formatted in a linear manner so our group of 6 felt very cramped. However I was impressed with the technology incorporated in the latter half of our escape. The room was very dim and there weren't enough lamps for each member of our team. It also didn't help that one lamp died 10 minutes in. The screen and speakers were clear. However our game master took several minutes to get back to us. Hence if you need a hint, wave for help immediately because assistance won't be immediately. The celebratory signs were a bit weathered and smelly. Hopefully these signs can be updated to reflect the themes of the rooms and be laminated to prevent the styrofoam deterioration. The experience was worth the $30 price tag but some changes needed to be made for it to be great.
