Whoever was driving a tow on 22E and 378 around 7pm on 3/7 is a complete hazard and shouldn't be in the road at all. Cutting people off, tailgating at 60+ mph, flashing high beams at an 18 wheeler when driving over into the shoulder to push them, crossing the center line. Unless your driver's side gig is an organ transplant surgeon, that car being transported didn't need any of this. I wouldn't trust them to drive my car anywhere. Period. read more

My tire blew out in a residential neighborhood, and I called AAA. They were very helpful and said that a truck should be there between "now and 2:50" (it was about 1:15 at the time). However, Chris, the driver, got there only about 5 minutes or so later; he got my car on the truck and drove the 27 miles to the tire place. He was efficient, a very nice person, and a great driver. Zero stars! WARNING THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS!!! I was rear ended and they were the first tow trucks on the scene. They made it seem like they would tow the car and then once I knew where the car was going to be fixed I could just have it towed off. Sure this was the case after them wanting to collect $1200 for towing the car at most 5 miles and stored for a few days. They are super dishonest in their practice. So just remember these guys are straight hooligan crooks! Call a different towing company and have your car immediately towed to where you are going to have your car fixed or inspected. Attempted to leave a Uhaul trailer there after we emptied from Buffalo. Luckily we waited for a receipt which we found to be $1026.00 before we let them take the trailer, despite their rushed attempts to do so. These guys rescued my brother and I on the side of 76 East! The attendant was extremely professional and waited until we called the insurance company to clear that we wouldn't be charged for a tow. the absolute worst towing experience I've ever had. thankfully I didn't have to directly pay for the poor service that i received and it was thru aaa, but essentially, I had to wait 10 hours for my car to be dropped off for what was an hour and 20 minute drive, kept getting a runaround story on the whereabouts and every time I called they kept telling me the driver should be arriving in an hour after initially telling me the car should be dropped off in just a couple hours, paid for tolls in between 10am and 11am, just to not get the car until 8 pm. Terrible customer service, I had to call once every hour to try to get an update. they'd tell me that they'd call me at a said time and didn't, so when I called them back, I couldn't reach anybody because they blocked my number, very unprofessional read more

After dropping off my Uhaul rental, I received a charge from Bala Motorsports. I called Bala Motorsports to get more information about the nature of this charge. The person I talked to was extremely rude and ended the call by telling me that "I, like all kids these days, have no brain". The owner of Bala Motorsports claims they "try to hire individuals who show care and concern for others....We welcome phone calls from our customers, whether good or bad, because what matters to us is that our employee's be courteous, friendly, helpful and pleasant." Got a flat while driving to Philly, and this shop happened to be the first one we saw when we pulled off the highway. The owner was hanging around, and we asked him for help, to which he shook his head, grunted, and directed us to a tire shop a half mile away. We arrived at the other shop and found it closed, but we also checked the trunk and realized we had a spare. We called every other auto shop in town, but because it was a Saturday, they were all closed. We went back to Bala Motorsports (which has about 4 other names on the sign, but this is the one that comes up on Google) and begged the surly man to just put on our spare or lend us a jack. He finally agreed, and then started emptying our trunk by just throwing our belongings on the oil-soaked asphalt. I was standing next to him saying "let me grab that... can you hand me that... no let me grab that... can you hand me that..." which he completely ignored. M came over and saw what he was doing, and immediately started shouting at him, to which the man only started throwing more aggressively. Less than 5 minutes later, he was done and we were $20 poorer and ready to get back on the road. I can't recall interacting with a bigger jerk. And I'm from Manhattan. read more

These people are CROOKS. They told me my car needed $1,200 in repairs, which I told them I didn't want to do because the engine was knocking. They told me that they checked and the engine isn't knocking. I went ahead with the repairs, only to find out that I was right and the engine in fact had been knocking. When I questioned them, they claimed that they had "let it run" and didn't hear anything. You need to actually DRIVE a car to hear the engine knock sometimes. They admitted to having never driven it. They had said there was a cash discount, but luckily I paid with a credit card, because I was able to protest the charge. I detailed everything that had happened (the full explanation of the scam they pulled ran for pages). The credit card company agreed to let them re-examine the car. The car was taken to them, where they left my only vehicle sitting in a parking lot for WEEKS, not answering the credit card company or my calls, because they knew there was NOTHING they could say for themselves. I was refunded by my credit card company. This place is one long-running scam that is finally seeing it catch up with them in these yelp reviews. Why can't you run an honest business? Why do you make a living from scamming people? Why do you think that's acceptable? How do you look yourself in the mirror knowing you're going to scam people every day? Two of your trucks are delivering vehicles going west bound on i76 with one hauling a white porche and the other with a blue lexus sedan. One in the left lane and one in the right. Driving in a manner not allowing anybody to pass when there is obviously a huge gap in front of both of them. I'm in a car with a crying baby in the back vomiting and all I wanted to do was get to a gas station!!! Share the damn road. Picked up and dropped off a U-Haul rental from here. Staff was friendly and everything went well. No extra charges, no huge wait and great equipment. It's a bit tricky to get in and out of the parking spots there as it's on a busy road, but there's a gas station across the street where you can conveniently fill up the truck before returning it. Inspired to write my first review on Yelp after my interaction with owner of BM (pun intended). 3/18/2013- I returned a UHaul van to this location in the overnight drop box. The next day, I received a notice that he charged me $25 for a cleaning fee. There was a note that indicated moving blankets were left unfolded in the back of the van. I called the UHaul customer service line and explained that I didn't even purchase the blankets, they were in the van when I picked it up and I didn't touch them. The UHaul rep explained that I would have to take up my complaint with Bala Motorsports and connected me. I explained to the man on the phone that the moving blankets were not purchased or used by me and that I don't feel I should be charged $25 for folding them. He yelled into the phone " I ain't no ones slave" and "I'm gettin' paid for my work" and then refused to remove the charge. I asked to speak to a manager and he told me he was the owner. I told him he's a contractor with UHaul and someone must manage his account. He then told me he didn't have time for me and needed to tend to his paying customers. We exchanged nasty words and he hung up on me. Long story short- This man is a nasty human who does not deserve your business. Don't book your UHaul through his location and after reading the other reviews- DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT TAKING YOUR VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE. Eventually- Things were later made right by UHaul Corporate who not only refunded my $25 but gave me a $25 credit for my next move. Thanks UHaul and please drop this vendor. read more

Took them over 2 hours to get to me and I was across the street from them at Wawa. Then they overcharged me after telling me one price in the phone. Rode pass my car twice, had me call them 4 times. They stole my vehicle from me. I had my car towed at late at night and attempted to pick it up about 12 hours later. They charged 2 DAYS OF STORAGE for a roughly 12 hour period and also nearly $200 for a 3 mile tow. They demanded close to $600 from me. I did not have that much money in my bank account and offered them every cent that I had to my name! They rejected it because they wanted to be paid in full. They said I had to pay in full or they would continue to charge me $200 a day for storage. I did not know the laws at this time and they took advantage of me. I can not believe that these guys have not been shut down by the police yet. You told me that I was unable to get my car back because I could not pay IN FULL, so I to give them my car. The owner and all of his henchmen stood around and had with their arms crossed with dirty looks on their faces, as if they were going to beat up my stepdad and I. Car broke down on 76 about 9 months ago with a bad alternator and got towed here. They charged me an obnoxious amount for the tow and a pretty hefty fee for the repair, but the car ran fine after that. 9 months later my car broke down again because of a bad alternator, so now I'm pissed. I call up Bala Motorsports to see what kind of warranty they have on their work because I don't happen to have the receipt from 9 months ago in the car. So my car wouldn't start and I was stuck in a parking lot. I could only guess what was wrong because I'm not a mechanic but I noticed that the exterior & interior lights were working, along with the radio and air conditioner so I assumed the battery must be working fine. We even tried jumping it to be sure but that still didn't make a difference. I then do a google search for something like "car won't start, interior lights working, no clicking noise when turning key" and almost every site I come across says something must be wrong with either the starter, solenoid, or alternator. I get a tow from AAA but instead of taking my car to my usual, competent mechanic, I decided to go with the nearby shop of the tow truck driver, Bala Motorsports, because the tow truck driver just seemed so nice and who wants to drive 40 minutes across Philadelphia in rush hour traffic? They check it out and imagine my surprise when they determine what the problem is: the battery was no good. And I think, "that's so weird, but these guys are the professionals and who am I to question them when I know as much about spaceships as I do about cars" (I know nothing about spaceships). They replace the battery for $160. Fast forward 12 hours (yes, just 12 hours), and my car shuts off as I'm sitting in rush hour traffic the next morning. I restart, luckily it comes back on, and I think "maybe it's just a fluke." Two days later, car won't start again, so I open the hood and push some stuff around that I have no business touching and luckily it starts again. So now here I am with a car that can shut off at any moment, having to make plans to try to get my car to my regular mechanic when they reopen (after the weekend), and having to pay someone else for something that seems like an easily diagnosed problem for anyone with access to the internet, and easily fixed for anyone with proper experience working with cars. Once again, I know nothing about cars, but logic would seem to dictate that if the electricity/radio/lights/AC in your car are working fine, then the battery is fine. And if I can spend 5 minutes on google and rule out a battery problem and narrow it down to 3 other possible areas that require inspection, then why can't a business run by multiple "experienced" mechanics figure that out over the course of 24 hours? It's baffling and I can only assume it's either a result of sheer incompetence or intentional deception. Don't bother with this place. *7/8/16 update* Except no one said anything about needing more time with the vehicle. Nice try. And why would anyone take their car back to you if you weren't capable of fixing it the first time? The way I see it I wasted enough money on your business the first time. read more

I was 2 hrs away from home and my car overheated on 76 and I called AAA for a tow. After getting transferred to Bala, the man that answered to get information to pass to one of his drivers immediately left to pick us up when he found out where we were (very heavy traffic on a scorcher of a day) and that my young son and I had been there for almost 45 minutes already. He brought us to their shop while we waited for one of their regular drivers to take my car to the AAA center. While we waited for a regular driver, they abandoned their cushy seats in their office and insisted we sit inside by the fans to cool off. They were cordial and very friendly with my son and made him feel at ease during an already stressful birthday adventure gone sour. Our driver to the AAA center was equally polite and repeatedly checked that we were alright (a/c control etc.) I can't thank them enough for coming as soon as they did and being as polite as they were. read more

He even flatly refused to give me a printed receipt, so I ended up with no record that I returned the truck! He laughed at our story of the tire pressure light coming on repeatedly between Durham and Philly and our having had to stop to have the tires checked twice...both times we were told we shouldn't be driving on such bad tires and this guy just laughs... My car broke down on the Schuylkill in the heat on Friday afternoon and the state police pushed the car off the highway at the Belmont exit and I maneuvered it into the Sunoco across the street from Bala Motorsports. Stranded 30 miles from home, I walked over to Bala Motorsports and in short order he hooked me up with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and even drove my daughter and I over there when Enterprise was too busy to pick us up. Recently was involved in a car accident on 76. State police made arraignments to have bala motorsports tow my vehicle to their near by state police yard. The next day when I called to make arraignments to have my vehicle tow to shop closer to me. I spoke with the owner Jerry who inform me that I have a outstanding bill of 700, but it can be reduce it to 150.00 if I signed the title of the car over. Even though I was a AAA member and bala motorsports works with AAA Jerry refused to honor it since the state police call and not AAA.. To be fair, I ended up paying 575.00. I had another tow truck company tow my car from bala's state police lot to a body shop 20 miles away for less then 100.
