Went back to Balcon last Thursday to see Bro-lesque which is their gay burlesque show that starts at around 11PM. If you're visiting New York and looking for something unique to do, I highly highly recommend it. It also makes a very cute date night, birthday celebration, or just something random to do to break up the work week and see some hot guys take off their clothes while enjoying an espresso martini. On Pride Sunday (6/28/26), moments before the Nick Gaga show at Balcon, a woman physically choked my best friend.. in public, in front of a crowd..because she wanted his seat. Bystanders around us were screaming and begging her to let him go. When security finally arrived, they did not remove the woman who had just assaulted someone. They removed my friend, the victim. When we refused to leave, security physically grabbed him, bruised him, and threw him out of the venue. No one on Balcon's staff checked on him. No one asked if he was okay. No one acknowledged what had just happened to him. This was Pride. This was the anniversary of Stonewall. And this venue chose to protect the aggressor and discard the victim. If something happens to you or someone you love inside Balcon, do not expect the staff to be on your side. We learned that the hard way. read more

The bartenders, servers and drag queens deserve better. This is another "local" bar trying to milk it's clientele with drink minimums, $5 ATM fees, and a security staff that's so poor with communication and training I genuinely couldn't understand what he was saying until he was yelling at us. Came here with friends during pride. This bar has two floors the top floor overlooks the stage area. We started at the top, danced and drank. There was a drag show featuring Kimmi Moore so we came downstairs for a closer view. We had such an amazing time. The drinks were reasonably priced. The bartenders were really friendly and outgoing. Came here again for an event that was sponsored by our organization and everybody had such a great time. read more

A stunning two-floor bar with a balcony (hence the name) overlooking the main stage with frequent drag performances all week! I love to come here on Friday nights to see Frida Cox and Virginia Thicc for Plastic Fridays at 8pm every week! They host Drag Race viewing parties which are a blast and somehow are able to squeeze in drag numbers during the commercial breaks. They're both amazing performers and hosts! Stick around because they also do a drag roulette where you can tip to get a song of your choice performed! It's always a great time! Definitely come out! read more

Summary: it's an ok venue; it looks nice, the sound and lights are good and they book great acts, but because there is no oversight the place gets sketchier as the night goes on. For clarification, I came in alone and opened a tab and bought two drinks per the min even though it was just me. Then I stayed to dance and talk with my friend who had just arrived. They bought their drinks with cash. When we decided to move to the next place I asked to close out my tab and the staff couldn't find my credit card or bill!!. After about ten minutes they finally came back with my card and rang me up and I signed the bill and added a tip. When I checked my bank account I saw that they closed me out soon after I bought the drinks (no signature and no tip) because it was before midnight and then when I asked to close they charged me for the same order again, only this time it was now after midnight so it came up as the next day. It was a mistake on the part of the bar. I did not order 4 drinks for myself and cash out as you suggest in your reply. It's a great location and a beautiful well-appointed space. And the performers are top notch, but they lack management. Now I always use cash at bars, but this time I didn't stop at the ATM. They ended up cheating me out of $40 by charging my credit card twice. When I called the bar staff said they didn't have a manager because he was fired and to just go ahead and dispute it. Well the bar then fought back and I lost the dispute and they pocketed the $40. I would definitely go to see a specific drag queen but will make sure to leave immediately because it can get a bit unsupervised the later it gets. read more

Been a couple times and have to say the space is great. Plenty of room to get around and the upper balcony is pretty large. Good view of the stage from up above and the downstairs has some seating against the wall as well. Bartenders were efficient and didn't have to wait long at all for drinks. Unisex bathroom in the back has individual private stalls and an ATM outside. It makes a big difference who is performing because there are some amazing acts on the right nights. Just saw the drag queen Kimmie Moore perform with her dancers and it was incredible choreography. read more
