Great place to see a show and have dinner. My only complaints are that the venue is rather dark. I used my cell phone flashlight to read the menu. And that the venue only opens 1 hour prior to the show so that you're forced to eat during the show. Otherwise, food is great. I ordered the pork belly tacos though for the price, I'm not sure if it's worth it. But they were delicious. Also enjoyed the Artichoke Flatbread. If you're seeing a show, you won't be disappointed and will be able to hear wherever you're sitting in this small room.

New York City needs a place like The Green Room 42, and more of them. It is really the perfect space to see a cabaret show, with great food and a great set up that makes it ideal and accessible for anyone with price ranges that go from reasonable to a little pricey. But what really sets this place apart from the others in the best possible way is that there is no drink or food minimum. So for someone who is budget conscience, they can spend $35 for a seat in the main area and just as good as any of the others, without worrying that they have to spend three times more to be there. This is something that some of the other places in the city could benefit from. It's pretty tremendous for a place that is in the middle of Hell's Kitchen and the Theater District and gets top name performers. I'm already grabbing tix to other shows before it's too late, like Lilias White. We were a little nervous about the food after reading some of the reviews. But we both had full meals that were delicious and not overly expensive, another plus for TGR42. And to add to that, they give you 10% off on the food with your ticket purchase. There is not a bad seat in the house. And while the show we saw wasn't our favorite -- it had more to do with the performer, not the venue -- we will definitely be returning back on a regular basis.

I never knew this venue existed until I found out Adam Pascal was performing there. What a great venue! Cabaret style seating with offerings of food and/or drinks. And the great thing about this place is that there is no minimum purchase requirement! I hate when venues force you to purchase food/beverages, when you already paid the price for a show tkt. Kudos to The Green Room 42 for not being greedy. I loved this intimate venue (inside The Yotel Hotel; 4th floor). You really get to have an up close and personal experience with the artist performing. The downside is the table service going on during the show (blocking view of the stage; dropping utensils, etc). They do their best to minimize table service during the show (you can text your order to the kitchen during the show) but still, it is quite distracting. For this particular show, Adam Pascal was fantastic! Lots of story telling (I was intrigued) and of course, singing. What an incredible voice he has! Even though I was seating in a booth in the back of the venue, I still managed to take some great photos. All in all, a great experience and I will definitely be back!

These are the cool banquettes around the edge of the room!

Russ Kaplan had the best show here with seriously great jazz talent and some vocal guests from broadway who sang so well- It felt like a private evening at our own personal jazz venue! I was pleased with the seating and our waitress was outstanding - personable ,swift and helpful. It was an amazing evening and we passed by the stage as we left and gushed our gratitude to the performers. It was a super memory and I will check the performances at the GreenRoom42 whenever I'm in NYC

Bonale's prefers GR42 when he performs.

Upon exiting the elevator they make you feel like you enter "paradise", do some tarot card reading by asking for your birthdate, and then get some beads with perfume dropped on them depending on which card you got. After all of that, none of those stuff mattered. We were served a three course meal before the actual aerobics show happened, but they still had performers perform while we had our meals or a few drinks. I enjoyed their Crescent Dip, which is a hummus dip with whipped feta and comes with a massive chip. The Full Moon Rice I wasn't really a fan of. After those two, they came out with the entree, which they called Fire, Water, Earth; essentially beet, halibut, and short rib. These were alright, not amazing. The third and final course came during the intermission of the show, which was a bunch of dessert treats and they were delicious. The show itself was fantastic. It was more than just aerobics, has there are also singing, dancing, and violinist. You may get wet in the front so FYI. There's also some fire involved. Overall, a well put together show. I'd probably skip the food, but the drinks were great.

The show I saw had incredible performers and felt really happy to be attending. But this is where it fell apart. I have a great deal of empathy for waitstaff especially during this kind of cabaret show. I had gotten a last minute VIP ticket and ordered a drink - and was informed at the time I placed a drink that there was a $25 mimimumx which I knew about when I bought the ticket. The waitress who served us was unnecessarily rude sbout it: I went to order food but stopped at spending more because at that point, the fewer interactions with her the better. I don't know what to think - someone willing to spend more money and feeling reluctant to because of a rude waitress is a problem to the venue to fix.

Along with Adam Lambert as…read morethe Emcee, Bebe Neuwirth as Frauline Schneider, and Auliʻi Cravalho as Sally Bowles, the entire cast was exceptional. This performance of Cabaret was such an incredible experience! The August Wilson Theatre is currently housing the Kit Kat Club and features a round rotating stage in a delightfully intimate venue. From my vantage point, I couldn't spot a seat with a bad view. And the acoustics are amazing! As we entered, our phone cameras were stickered to block guests from taking photos during the performance. I willingly obliged, but was surprised to be reprimanded long after the show had ended & all the performers had left the stage. I did save my sticker & it lives on my laptop now. The pre-show performers were fascinating, and the musicians were equally talented. We splurged on FRONT ROW tables with the stage side dining and have zero regrets. We were literally inches from the performers! The amount of charcuterie served to us was egregious, and we appreciated the option to pack everything into takeout boxes for snacking later. Extra notes that may or may not be helpful: on our way to the theatre, walking up Broadway from 45th Street, my friend tripped & sprained her ankle, so we needed to take a Lyft as she couldn't continue walking. Luckily my husband was with us to help her limp through. Upon arriving at the August Wilson Theatre, we found the entry door for stage side dining wasn't very close to the box office, and my friend was too flustered to find her ticketing email, so I walked over to the box office. I only needed to give her name and our four tickets were printed quickly. Once inside, the theatre manager brought over some instant ice packs & medical tape for my friend's ankle to use during the show. I enjoyed this show SO MUCH. The August Wilson Theatre has been perfectly recreated into the Kit Kat Club! I definitely want to see Cabaret here again with the current cast, and also future casts.
