I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. I was with a group of 4 people. We were looking for a nice restaurant to have lunch and enjoy a relaxing time in Prague. After walking around for about an hour, trying to find a place that would suit our wants, we were lured in by the annoying waitress/hostess standing outside offering a daily special (Breaded fried beef fillet and french fries) for about $13. This was a deal because it came with a soup as well. Otherwise, it would seem quite overpriced. We were seating right by the entrance, but still in the outside sidewalk area which pretended to be the patio. The serve brought us 4 menus, which were all different, with different options. None of the menus, however had prices on them. When we requested a menu with prices, the waiter as first had no idea what we were talking about (in Czech), and then he finally brought us "real" menus. We all ended up ordering the special, and a beer except one member of our group who order the "freshly squeezed" orange juice ($7 - I think it was freshly squeezed out of a orange juice box, at the most). Beer was at 50Kc ($3). The waiter seemed very rushed when taking our orders as well. Before the food made it to our table, our waiter brought us napkins, knives, and ketchup. The food came out extremely fast (less than 5 mins) and tasted awful. The breading fell off the beef fillet right away, leaving a piece of naked chewy fillet on my plate. Thankfully the french fries were edible. When we were done with our food (no one really finished, because of the extremely poor quality), just when we thought nothing could get worse, we received our check. The check included couple of extra items, which were not words in English nor Czech. These items, as described by the waiter, were special gratuity for us deciding to dine at the restaurant. Had we decided to drink only, there would be no extra cost. Blown away with his explanation, and not willing not ruin my rest of the afternoon by arguing with some ignorant half Czech smart-ass, we decided to pay and leave. AVOID AT ALL COST! Go instead across the street to Ferdinanda. read more
