What we got was the owner ,Dave, driving 45 minutes to our home to look at the tree. He climbed under the tree, dug the mulch out and added soil and fertilizer to the root ball. We have heard myths and legends of ancient customer service such as this, but we were skeptical. Imagine our shock and delight to happen upon it here in the lakes region ? If you have a person or four, as I did today, to buy a gift for, buy the gifts at a League of NH Craftsmen store. You will find items for anywhere from $10 to $1,000+. I guy wedding gifts, Christmas gift, Birthday gifts and oops, sorry honey gifts. I like to keep one of the ladder on hand for those not so special occasions. No, I know none of the craftsmen, nor do I know any of the employees of these shops, but I have always been very successful buying gifts here. I think you will be too.

I found some really nice key rings upstairs on sale and they have made fun gifts for family and friends. My spouse is a librarian and Black's sells a variety of games and toys that add so much to a library. Location is great and even during peak seasons, like spring and summer, we've always found parking within walking distance. The customer service is friendly and helpful and they have some good sales and clearance items too. On our most recent visit on Veteran's Day, we found some winter gloves and a gift for a friend. It was great fun to go by boat to get the Sunday paper, at LEAST one pack of gum/candy to split between us kiddos and then enough donut holes from the Yum Yum Shop to last the boat ride back to 19 Mile Bay and then MAYBE one bag for family that did not go on the boat ride!! Very friendly lady who runs the shop, prepares all her own canned goods and breads. She has a few knick knacks as well. Charming little shop, we picked up some focaccia and honey oat bread. The focaccia we should have put in the fridge, it went moldy after 3 days and it looked good too. The honey oat loaf held out longer, but I didn't take any chances and put it in the fridge. Delicious! And not loaded with sugar! (If you aren't used to it it'll taste bland, but that's because we have breads sweetened in our supermarkets, I try to avoid it). Oh and we picked up a dozen farm-fresh eggs. She calls them 'butt nuggets!'

The best pie I've ever had…read more Played a wedding with my band in Chocorua, NH this weekend, and instead of having cake, the couple had Grammy Gordon's pies for dessert. Had Strawberry Rhubarb & Mmm-apple post wedding...unreal. The next day, I had to bring my girlfriend so she could try some. The lady there was incredibly friendly, and we were able to scoop up the last pie of the day...Berry Berry Peach. No joke, it was the best pie I've ever had. If you get the chance, this is a must try!
