It was somewhat busy for a Tuesday afternoon but good to know other people were buying their groceries here. I was definitely not a fan of their prices. Absurdly high so I would reconsider possibly elsewhere for similar items.

It is a lovely store; the atmosphere is quite unique. I go to the store because the one in Vienna closed. On Thursdays they now have a seven dollar meal. I'm sure all the food is pre-prepared, but maybe they have to mix it at the store. The Vienna store food was much better. This store has been disappointing. I'm not sure I will continue going even for the special on Thursdays. They have a brownie cookie that is absolutely fabulous! Zap it four or 5 to 7 seconds in the microwave before you eat it and you will love it. The raspberry filled cookies are very sweet. If you are a coffee drinker I'm told they go well with coffee. Their oatmeal cookies are pretty good. All these cookies freeze well.

I was dying of thirst thirst because of the excessive heat, and the only thing that I wanted was a juice or cold ice tea. There was a large cooler filled with just Arizona Ice Tea, however I didn't see the diet tea anywhere. There is a small kitchen area which was interesting, and I noticed a lot of fried chicken there. There is no bakery which would have been good to pick up a muffin or something small to eat. This store is very basic, no fris, and very few modern amenities. I only noticed one employee in the store and he was busy stocking shelves. This store is clean and it serves customers for the basic necessities that they are looking for.

It is from the 1970's. That is a good thing actually! Even better is that this store seems to cater to a mostly Hispanic community. I was actually raised in Mexico, so I felt right at home here. They don't have an actual bakery here but they do have 3 types of conchas. I purchased some watermelon (Sandia) and a couple of other fruit items. I also got me some canned noodles and some Qualer Oats cereal for my breakfast. This store is definitely no frills and their prices are right in line with some of the other low cost grocery chains. I wonder if there are any other of these Good Start locations in the DMV.

I tried explaining Yelp, he never heard of it but I assured him that I was not a competitor. He asked me what I needed to buy, and I answered candles and he escorted me to that aisle and watched me pay for them. The store was jammed packed with food. The cashier was friendly.
