She showed me how to deal with the behaviors and tantrums and she showed me how easy it is to work and to teach new skills during the day. My son was supposed to receive services from this business, but there was a delay. When I called the business to discuss this matter, I spoke to the owner Saba at length. Throughout that call, she was very rude and unprofessional towards me - including cutting me off, not letting me speak, not answering my questions directly, and being just plain rude. Based on that call, there was no way in a million years that I would ever let her meet my son. So there you go. She continues to state that "we NEVER even saw you or served your child". Duh...that's exactly what I said. And this is exactly what I went through when I talked to her on the phone. We went round and round in circles, and my concerns were never addressed. She just doesn't get it. She reported me to her attorney, but her attorney never contacted me. Why? Perhaps because writing an honest Yelp review doesn't constitute defamation. And she also thinks this constitutes cyber bullying. Do you really want your kid with special needs to receive services from someone that thinks a negative Yelp review is cyber bullying and defamation of character? I know what my answer is.

I recently contacted Dr. Dufford to help me after receiving a recent diagnoses of PTSD, it's…read moreunfortunately had been many years since I'd seen Dr. Dufford as a patient. Dr. Dufford returned my call promptly and he was very kind and understanding to my situation as usual. Sadly, Dr. Dufford was not able to fit me in as a returning patient at the time that I called, Dr. Dufford instead gave me a referral to two other Psychologists that specialize in treating the Complex PTSD that I suffer from and was recently diagnosed with. Dr. Michelle Chabbot was the Psychologist that I first reached out to following the multiple traumatic events that led to my Complex PTSD diagnoses and that caused my PTSD Panic Attack. I study Psychology myself, and I was very shaken when I contacted Dr. Chabbot, as I'd never experienced at PTSD Panic Attack before, and I never even knew that someone could suffer from something as terrible as a PTSD Panic Attack. Dr. Chabbot answered the phone immediately, and she was kind and caring enough to take the time to help me immediately. She even answered some emergency questions that I had regarding my recent Complex PTSD diagnoses and the PTSD Panic Attack that I suffered. Dr. Chabbot did all of this for me during her time off on the weekend, when she was out of town on vacation. Talking with Dr. Chabbot, meant so very much to me. I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Chabbot and I immediately knew that I was in good hands with regards to finding help to treat my Complex PTSD Disability. I'll be continuing my treatment with Dr. Chabbot moving forward, and I'll be sure to update my review along the way as well. I can tell Dr. Chabbot is an extremely gifted and knowledgeable Psychologist, and she is exceptionally knowledgeable and gifted in the area of PTSD especially. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Chabbot/Dr. Dufford, if you are ever in need. I also urge anyone reading this to reach out to Dr. Dufford/Dr. Chabbot if you are in any need of mental healthcare. It's vital to seek the aid of a Psychologist if you've ever experienced going through a traumatic life event (such as a car accident, workplace discrimination, domestic violence, Ableist bullying, really anything that happens that is traumatic in life, can potentially lead to PTSD I'm told. On top of this, in my own personal experience, PTSD appears to me to be a self fueling condition/ mental illness/disability, meaning that PTSD can worsen over time, if left untreated. What this means is that, it's vital to seek the help of a qualified mental healthcare professional immediately following a traumatic life event. If one doesn't immediately get the treatment that one needs, ones PTSD could quickly worsen, that and one could easily develop "layers" of PTSD, from multiple traumatic events as well. In addition to this, PTSD can also VERY QUICKLY develop into a life threatening condition/mental illness/disability, so please don't ever hesitate to get seek immediate help. Even if you just suspect you might need help, then immediately seek out that help as your mental health can quickly worsen, leaving you in a life threatening situation.

Last night, a young child ran over to our house from the street barefoot, (we have a 5 acre lot, mind you), balling their eyes out, shaking, and desperate for help. The child expressed that they ran away because they were SA'd. The child had not showered or eaten in days. The child shared more horrific details about their treatment at the facility, but I don't think it's necessary to disclose more. We took the child inside and took care of them. The sheriffs office came over to our house, but the organization did not report the child missing until 2 hours after we had called the sheriff!! There are ONLY 6 KIDS there at a time!! IT SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN 2 HOURS TO REALIZE SOMEONE IS MISSING. Unfortunately, about 5 hour after she had been at our home, it was decided that they had to send the child back, despite the fact that the child didn't feel safe and had been SA'd. (Please note, we strongly question whether the sheriffs enacted the correct protocol regarding the SA.) We were resistant to send the child back after hearing how they were treated but there was nothing we could do because of the legal restrictions. When we walked the child back, the staff treated the child, us, and EVEN THE SHERIFF with a cold, unwelcoming, and annoyed attitude. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. This is not the first time incidents like this have happened and we fully intend to report this to CPS to investigate the facility.

We live out of state and embark kept giving us different dates for discharge and could not communicate to each other about getting us a correct date. I got a flight the day of her discharge because, again, they wouldn't give us a consistent date. I got there the next day and had to pay for a hotel. - they were supposed to send referrals to several day treatments in our network the day we left. Which in itself is ridiculous to wait until a kid is discharged to send a referral that usually has several weeks of a wait list. turns out, they never sent the referrals, and the ones that they were supposed to send to weren't even in our network. - I emailed several times after she was discharged to ask about the referral and never got a response other that an initial response saying they were cc'ing the therapist. With me trying to follow up on this, still no response. - there was a staff member that told my daughter that her life goes against his (the staff member) beliefs. This was not relayed to me until after her discharge. My daughter was told that the staff member was fired, which I don't believe. I am sure he was just moved to another location to continue the trauma he causes to at-risk youth.

Though there were a few good BTs CARD should hire people who went to school in the field and acquired their RBT certification. It doesn't make sense to hire someone random without some sort of degree or certification by the state. They train people to become BTs in office and they are expected to provide clinical sessions for your child. They back this up by saying Bts receive intensive training and have to pass certain tests all in office. If it was as intensive as they say why have some very inexperienced BTs come along on the team? It's unfortunate how there was no change in challenging behaviors with my child within the whole year of being with CARD. When you're a strong advocate for your child and you're very assertive they bring in colleagues on zoom and on email whom you've never interacted with prior concerns. They then have these colleagues respond to your email because management at Card do not know how to respond properly with concerns. With the turn around rate as well, I'd find therapy else where.
