I'm leaving this review based solely on my experience with the office staff and scheduling process, as my uncle was never able to be seen here. I was trying to schedule physical therapy for my uncle following his upcoming full knee replacement surgery on May 22. His referral was sent from Stanford on May 5, and after hearing nothing from the office, I spent days calling, leaving messages, and trying to follow up with no return calls. When I finally got someone on the phone, I was told they never received the referral fax. I contacted Stanford and had the referral resent the same day. After trying to call back later to confirm receipt, no one answered, and again my message was not returned. Today I called again and was told they still had not received the newly sent fax, but somehow the original referral from May 5 was found in their "junk mail," which was confusing since it was faxed over. After all of this back and forth, I was then told there was no appointment availability until the end of June, even though my uncle is supposed to begin physical therapy next week after surgery. This experience was extremely frustrating and stressful, especially when trying to coordinate important post-surgical care for a family member. Because of the delays, lack of communication, and scheduling limitations, I now have to take my uncle to another physical therapy office in Gilroy, which is inconvenient since I live in Hollister, have a young child, and am helping care for my uncle. I understand offices can be busy, but better communication, follow-up, and scheduling support would make a huge difference for patients trying to arrange time-sensitive care. read more

I'm happy with the staff and the workouts! After a rotator cuff surgery, the staff was extremely helpful, giving lots of tips and guiding me into a routine that was effective and helped me eliminate the pain. Their down-to-earth approach put me at ease, and inspired me to do more at home (too much, in one instance, I had to ease up). Don't forget to really REST between visits! Booking and scheduling is difficult. My mom was assigned a new referral for a new issue and the office/employee is stating that "we don't do evaluations in November". We proceeded with a booking for a December appointment and they called us to cancel because they overbooked themselves. We could have started on the treatment plan as per prescribing doctor's orders. Prescribing doctor was upset that my mom the patient has not started PT since September/October referral delaying treatment orders. It'd would have been important to know that this office is booked solid and we could have seeked treatment elsewhere. Care to the patient is delayed. read more

Very clean and helpful staff to get you back on track again. Earl was my therapist and he was very good at explaining all the necessary exercises needed for me to get back on track. Glenn is the owner and he's extremely thorough in how the injury is effected and why the exercises would benefit me! After tripping on the stairs my Dr. sent me to the Hollister office for some physical therapy on my shoulder and neck. I had never done physical therapy before and had only heard horror stories about it. They were so kind and completely professional. David is an amazing therapist and had me feeling better after just 2 of my 12 treatments. He expalined everything he was going to do and why. It changed my view of therapy. read more

The therapists are great. I will say, the front desk person was rude on several occasions. I was in pain and her cocky attitude got to me. Most of the time I chalk things up to "they're having a bad day" but three times? I finally called them and told them to take me off their books, because I did not like how she treated me. I spoke to her, all she could say in a falsetto high pitch was "okay, have a nice day." That's probably been the nicest exchange we've had. I am always nice, I felt I had to tell her. I will be filing a complaint with the owners. read more

I think they did a good job helping me with my injury but the conservative political talk made me uncomfortable. I will choose some place else to go next time. I found myself engaged and defending my politics and don't think I should have had to in the setting. Great for a bar maybe but not for therapy read more

I had a full ACL replacement and meniscectomy done after an accident... Six months of immobility [before and after the surgery] brought my right leg to a state of complete atrophy... I was seriously considering being disabled and limping till the rest of this life... Then I went to Fritter & Schulz [F&S]... Initially they had to fire up my muscles with electrodes to make them move, and developed the exercise routine to start me on the way to recovery... I've started my therapy with Earl, and overtime worked with Dave and Kelly... These people really impress me with their deep knowledge of the human anatomy, the function and placement of every bone and ligament, and their ability to facilitate the recovery of the injured body parts... The progress in my case was very slow and very painful... But I was working really hard, an hour at a time, at least twice a week... After three months, my insurance was done covering the PT, but luckily there is an independent gym program at F&S, where for a few bucks I could continue doing my exercises on my own... I've been doing this "independent gym" twice a week for 1.5 years now, and yesterday I've graduated... I decided that now - thanks to the great staff and facility at F&S - I have formed a solid habit of a regular work-outs and have enough discipline to continue on my own... I strongly recommend these people and this office - it feels like family, and as long as I have been part of it - you really learn about the people... Good, kind, fun people, who provide so much support and guidance to whoever comes through the door with whatever pain and fear of never being able to have a healthy life again... They give you hope and methods to achieve your goals... Deep gratitude!.. But never come on an empty stomach - they will "torture you softly" with the phone pictures of giant burritos Earl had conquered and new recipes of Baby Back ribs for Dave's smoker :) read more

I have been to these physical therapists three times this year. First was for neck pain, then plantar fasciitias in my foot and lastly hip pain. They are the most professional, informative, friendly, supportive staff I have ever met. I highly recommend them. Thank you Glen, Kelly and David for your devotion and expertise. read more

I recently had knee replacement surgery and needed physical therapy. My experience with Barbara, Earl, and David was just great. They are very knowledable and also compassionate as there is quite a bit of pain. I would recommend them to anyone that needs therapy. I've lived in Hollister 25 years and have had to visit Fritter and Schultz three times. Over the years, the crew has changed, but the high-quality service is still the same. My leg was very swollen and stiff after being in a cast with a broken ankle for six weeks. I was using a wheelchair, walker, and crutches to get around even after the cast was removed (I am almost 60). After 24 visits, my leg is so much better thanks to the care provided by Glenn, David, Barbara, and Earl. Their encouragement, therapy techniques, gait improvement suggestions, and current event stories made therapy much easier, especially since I had such a long recovery. The entire staff was very helpful, even on those occasions when I could not make it at the last minute. The two receptionists (Stella mostly during the evening) gave me the most convenient appointments and tried very hard to work around my sometimes busy schedule. I have been going to Fritter and Schulz for many years after surgeries on my ankle and, most recently, my partial shoulder replacement. I cannot say enough about the professionalism, friendliness and absolute caring of the staff. David, Earl and Barb are especially nice. We joke, laugh and have some very stimulating conversations. Whether we're discussing the sites of New York or politics, the conversation is lively and in no way disrespectful to anyone's beliefs. It really helps the time go by quickly and distracts me from (sometimes) very painful therapy. Kathy at the front desk is always friendly and helpful. Such a sweetheart. I've read other reviews of this facility and wonder if these people are reviewing the same place as me. I guess everyone has his/her opinion, but I can adamantly say I certainly do not agree with them. If you need physical therapy for any of your ailments, F &S, Hollister is the BEST place to go.
