Absolutely NIGHTMARE!!! I am losing most of my lower teeth because of Dr Bales negligence. She moved my teeth incorrectly and now I am suffering extreme bone loss , gum loss and teeth are being pulled because of her negligence. Also she snapped a beautiful porcelain veneers veneer in half ( I have video proof ) and after yelling at me and degrading me she told me she would pay for it to be replaced and she never did. Save your children and your teeth and go anywhere other than Dr BALES read more

I was recommended Dr Bales by my daughters dentist. My daughter has been seeing Dr Bales for a while now and we have had nothing but excellent service by all the staff. I am very happy with the service they always provide. The dental assistance staff are always professional, friendly and helpful and always answered all my questions. The doctors are very informative on my daughters progress and always ask me and my daughter if we have any concerns or questions. I just want to comment as well that due to Covid-19 the office is handling it amazingly they are being very careful and following protocol and that is much appreciated. Excellent service by everyone always. The atmosphere at the office is always pleasant and always very clean. Until next time. Chao! read more

I grew up with Dr. (Thomas) Bales as my orthodontist, and I have fond memories of visiting his office during the years that I had braces in middle school. (Playing Game Boy in the waiting room and buying prizes with my wooden nickels! If you know, you know.) Now my son is a patient of Dr. (Katie) Bales, and it has been fun to be back in that office filled with memories for me. Katie is the sweetest, and the office is still the same warm, friendly place. They do an incredible job of telling the kids and parents what to expect, and they do their best to make the whole process as painless as possible--even fun! That's quite a feat when it comes to being in the business of doing things that are painful/uncomfortable by nature. I can't recommend Bales Orthodontics highly enough! You won't be able to find a more wonderful orthodontist and staff. read more

Everybody at the office was kind and helpful! They always made it easy to reschedule and my teeth feel great!

Both of my kids have had braces with Bales Orthodontics and I can't say enough about how amazing the staff and docs are. When I was a kid I had braces forever, including head gear and neck gear. I was super cool (some would say). I was nervous for my kids to not have to go through this type of experience if we could help it. We started seeing Dr Bales when my eldest was about 8, had a consult and then came back in a year for another. He was then starting the two phase, expanders etc. the whole Shebang to make his teeth look the way they should. We kept seeing their office for my younger sons braces needs and he started about the same age, he had expanders etc. The overall experience of getting braces can hurt, I don't recall either kid having too difficult of a time with pain or swelling. They will work with you to set up a simple payment plan to cover what your insurance doesn't. They handled the pandemic closures with grace and made it look easy and I'm sure it wasn't. Once my son had a wire that popped out and was poking into his cheek, this was May of 2020 so we were really in the thick of it. I called the office and it was a Sunday so they were closed. Angie reached out to me and said she would meet me at the office to pop that wire in. It was amazing, absolutely kind and 100% above and beyond what was expected. Bales orthodontics is amazing. read more

I love bales, all the people that work here are very nice and they do really good at keeping my teeth clean. They work very fast and I never dread going to my appointments like I do with other things read more

I let my teeth get screwed up over the years because the Navy doesn't work on your teeth out at sea on a smaller boat. When I got out and moved back home I found Bales Ortho to help me with my alignment and spacing for an implant I needed. All in all took about five years. I highly recommend them on every level. They are professional, experienced and caring with a beautiful facility. read more

Our family loves Bales! I love the clean, modern office and friendly, knowledgeable and efficient staff. Highly recommended.

I would recommend Dr Bales to anyone and everyone. My daughter couldn't fit all her teeth and had to get a pallet expander at 6 and had braces until almost nine. We are 6 months into her retainer now and she's like a. Old friend when she goes in. Everyone is so kind, professional and the appointments are amazingly fast. The pricing was totally reasonable and my daughters smile is gorgeous. 10 stars. read more

Dr. Bales and her team are the best in the business. They are professional, kind, and extremely good at what they do. The staff is always so welcoming and helpful if you have any question. If your in need of after hours care they are extremely responsive. Dr. Bales has giving all three of my children beautiful smiles and also gave me the smile I've always wanted. I would highly recommend Bales orthodontics if you live in Marin or Sonoma County. read more

You don't invite people for a consult and then insult their intelligence. Front desk had no smiles and pushy. Scolding type of a behavior was so unprofessional I cannot stress enough. Kind lady who made my appointment was absent. Entire visit was utterly ridiculous almost insulting actually from the moment o wslhed in. I was never really given a good answer to why my choice for Dr Ana was turned down only that Katy was the owner to call the shots. Wow its fishy now. Like I'm that dumb not to see the utter phoniness. Dishonest visits. I gave had three referrals from dentist for ortho work and katy tells me to bond my teeth. Classic curve ball I can't help you. She should have not waisted my time. Obviously does not gave the confidence if Dr Ana after they switched me ortho doc last minute with really no reason accept she is not interested. And even so no drbtust recommendations. So phoney the entire visit was not what I was told to expect. Not even insurance they accept. Gotta be grudges here. read more

The whole team is professional, kind and patient (with sore teeth, broken brackets and rescheduled appointments). We can't speak more highly of our experience. Both our kids have dazzling smiles thanks to Bales! read more

Dr Bales and Dr Katie have provided superior service for the last 30 plus years! The office, despite having been around for a long time, has kept up both in appearance and the best in class orthodontic techniques. It also says a lot to see many of the same staff members still working here from when I was a child! I think that speaks volumes that not only do the patients come back with their own kids but the employees enjoy the work environment so much that many of the faces I see are the same as I did when I was younger! read more

I have always let my son decide where he wants to go for any of his medical needs. He helped me choose his doctor, his dentist, his hair dresser, and now his orthodontist. I had a few consultations planned at various offices in Novato, but he only needed one before he decided who he wanted to do his braces. Dr. Katie Bales won him over in our first visit. She was warm, friendly, and made him feel very comfortable. I felt like her diagnostics were right on, and now, half way through with his treatment I am very pleased with the way his teeth are looking. We are very pleased at the way Dr. Katie and her office are taking care of us. One evening his wire came out and Dr. Katie met us at the office at dinner time to fix the problem. I am so impressed at the care she has given my son. He looks forward to his monthly check ups. read more

I've had such a great experience with Dr. Bales and her team that I had to share. I'm beyond happy with my results and highly recommend her to anyone who wants a perfect smile. I am so much more confident and happy to show off my pearly whites to the world. Thank you Bales Orthdontics read more

Bales orthodontist is great. Everyone is friendly. We always know what's going on with my sons teeth step by step all the way through making it easy to understand and follow. My son has enjoyed the tokens he gets as well and cant wait to turn them in for a gift card. I would definitely recommend them. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for some time. I went to Bales Orthodontics about 2 years ago when I had a terrible experience with a dentist in LA where I had an unnecessary and bad root canal that left me with pain in that tooth. Even though this wasn't an "orthodontic" problem really, they were kind and took a look for me anyway. They gave me their evaluation of the tooth, then referred me to two other excellent practitioners that eventually fixed my tooth. And then both Drs Tom and Katie Bales then followed up with me. I found the office environment friendly, calm and inviting and both Dr. Tom and Katie Bales have a wonderful manner about them. I felt like I was really taken care of. I would recommend Bales Orthodontics to anyone and look forward to taking my kids there in the future ....(well I hope I don't HAVE to, but would take them there if anywhere!) read more

Well, it has been 6 months since my son has his braces removed and his smile is still bright and perfect! He wears his retainer each night to keep his teeth in place. We are still thrilled with the outcome. I truly did not think his teeth would come out as perfect and straight as they did. I also was very impressed with his bite: he previously had a very misaligned overbite, and that is completely gone. Tomorrow, my son will be giving his presentation to the Eagle Board of Review to become an Eagle Scout (just like Dr. Katie's dad!) Because of Bale's Orthodontics very high quality work, my son will have a perfect smile to give him confidence during this important presentation. I have truly noticed that my son has an easier time in front of groups since his teeth have been restored to a perfect smile. The staff at Bales Orthodontics is wonderful, always welcoming! They always make my son and I very comfortable when we arrive. Dr. Katie is extremely professional, generous, and very ethical. Dr. Bale, (Dr. Katie's dad) has always been very kind and professional during my son's appointments. We love Bale's Orthodontics, and we believe it is the best place to go to for orthodontic work. read more

I'm in my 50's and was referred to Dr Bales by my fabulous Periodontist Dr Hollander for Invisalign treatment prior to my implants. This is a great office to deal with ALL THE WAY AROUND and Dr Katy and her Dad are lovely AND they are total Pro's! Their payment plan worked for my budget and I appreciated that. My teeth are straight and perfect for the first time in my life. I am very happy. Can't imaging going anywhere else as the two Dr Bales are the BEST in the industry. read more

I was concerned that as an adult seeking invisalign treatment, going to an orthodontic practice would be an uncomfortable experience - that I would feel out of place among an office full of kids and young adults. But my regular dentist highly recommended that I see Dr Katie because she was in her opinion "the best". As it turns out my dentist was correct - Dr Katie is the best and my worries about feeling out of place here were totally unfounded. Every staff member has been professional and friendly and my experience has been great. I'm still in the midst of my treatment and am already amazed by the results thus far. I'm sorry I waited until I was (mumble, mumble) years old to do this! read more

I came to Dr. Katie because of a botched Invisalign treatment I got from another doctor. She and her staff did an amazing job re-aligning my bite and straightening out my teeth. I walked in there with very little hope, and came out with the best looking smile I've ever had (and I'm 63 years old)! Her treatment eliminated the chronic TMJ pain I've had for years, also. The efficient staff were always patient with my questions and made sure that I was comfortable every step of the way. I would recommend Dr. Bales to anyone, no matter what their age, because they just don't get better than this. read more

Excellent job I am so impressed with my teeth they're straight love Bales Orthodontics

Very nice staff and Doctors. They made the entire braces experience completely painless. From the appointment scheduling, payment plans, and encouraging the proper brushing and taking care of my daughter's braces, Bales really made the whole process easy and fun. read more

Very happy with my results !! Staff is great and very friendly ! Thanks Dr.Bales for my new smile

I had a really good experience here. We did lingual braces on the top, traditional braces on the bottom. They always responded completely and patiently to my many questions. I am an adult and opinionated, and we came up with a plan that worked for both of us. When I said I had had it and needed these braces off, they provided me with my choices regarding small fixes that would take a bit of additional time, and they responded when I said it was time to be done. I didn't get any flak. Between dealing with my teeth and my children's teeth, I have been with three different ortho offices here in Marin. Interestingly, the two offices that were excellent had inviting offices and employees who seemed genuinely happy with their jobs and interested in the patients. The same cannot be said for the third office I dealt with, which had been recommended by the dentist. In that office, the employees seemed really stressed, and interestingly, the treatment plan for one child was really deficient. When making your decision, gather the facts, but also follow your intuition. If anyone in my family has additional ortho issues, we will come to this office. read more

Dr. Katie Bales is simply THE BEST. From the first time we met her and her staff, everyone was friendly, welcoming, calm and supportive. I had let the office know ahead of time that my daughter had had a traumatic frenectomy a few months prior and as a result was terrified of any dentist, orthodontist, periodontist, literally anyone who would ask her to lie down so they could examine her teeth. It was so sad to watch her in fear, shaking and crying. We had tried a child dose of valium, melatonin, you name it. It was that bad. So when Dr. Bales said that my daughter needed expanders, I was nervous. I thought - no way is this every going to happen. My daughter is too scared and at 8 years old, if she doesn't want to open her mouth for a doctor, she's not going to do it. When I told Dr. Bales about Mia's trauma and fears, she suggested that Mia come into her office on her day off and try to put her expanders on. GENIUS. This way there were no other patients there, no other noises or distractions and just an incredibly supportive, confident, sweet orthodontist in her mom clothes (since it was her day off) and my daughter. Getting my daughter in the door that day was tricky. But as soon as we were inside and saw Dr. Bales, she put my daughter at ease immediately. She answered all of my daughter's questions and addressed all of her concerns. She kept my daughter calm, told her great stories to keep things light and funny and interacted with her so she felt like she was part of the process. She literally checked in with my daughter every single step of the way and made it my daughter's choice to decide if she should proceed. That was huge for my daughter. Dr. Bales spent an entire hour on her day off with my daughter and got her expanders in with no problem and no tears. Honestly, I left in shock that my daughter got through the appt with such ease and even a smile. Dr. Katie is A GIFT. I will be forever grateful to her for giving my daughter such a positive experience. Dr. Bales even called us that afternoon herself to check in on her. Now that's special. She is also a mom and brings that gentle, caring, understanding mama vibe to her patients. You will be lucky if you choose her as your orthodontist. read more

I have been going to Dr. Katie for about a year and a half now. I am 30 something and needed to finally straighten my teeth out! My dentist had said that I wasn't a candidate for Invisalign, I had adult teeth that never existed, a baby tooth still and tons of crowding. Definitely a difficult case. But when I went to Dr. Katie (who I think actually teaches Invisalign classes) she said she could do it! I was so relieved and found it not too much more expensive than clear braces. Everyone in their office is warm and inviting, its always a pleasure to go there! My teeth are looking wonderful! And no one ever notices my Invisalign ;) I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Katie, I drive 20 minutes south from Petaluma just to see her! read more

I love Dr. Bales office in Novato. Katie's dad, the original Dr. Bales was not my orthodontist but as a novato native I always loved how much he supported youth sports in Novato. If your kid every played soccer in Novato, chances are they own a Dr. Bales water bottle. I coached boys soccer in high school and my kids loved the water bottles as much as I had as a youth. Now Katie is Dr Bales and she is great too. After 30 years I am finally getting braces and I have loved every appointment so far. They have an amazing team and they work out amazing payment options. I love this place. read more
