I will write an update after I see the results from our son's braces, but so far so good. Dr. Karimian (Dr. K for short) genuinely cares about straight and healthy teeth. I went to him for a second opinion when the first orthodontist in Greenbrae/Kentfield (not gonna say her name) advised oral surgery for our son. On second thought, I might review the first doctor to save others...that's how Yelp originally started in the first place. Good doctors are hard to find, Yelp is here to HELP! Needless to say, I bounced out of Kentfield so fast and started making phone calls to other doctors. My husband is never on my side when it comes to good decision making. He wanted to go with the first doctor. I'm like who needs surgery for dental work, unless it's severe like deformity from an accident - all surgeries have its risk(s)! I'm not a doctor and used my common sense SMH! A mother knows best. The braces aren't cheap and difficult to maintain, but our son will thank us later (actually just thank ME) lol. He can't eat certain foods like popcorn, candies, etc. Next step is wisdom teeth pulling to shift the teeth over to avoid jaw surgery. This doctor knows how much I want to avoid any surgery. Dr. Griffin initially approved me for Invisalign, very friendly and knowledgeable with many years of experience. I felt comfortable. My dentist told me I was grinding at night and braces would help to align the bite to the right spot. Also my two front teeth were a little crooked. Dr. K has been treating and taking care of me and my son every since the braces started. Dr. K is very genuine and caring, and always has a nice big smile and happy to see us. Even during the beginning of COVID, my bracket broke and I think Dr. K was answering all the emergency calls himself, he fit me in quickly to fix it when all business were shut down due to COVID. I had braces for about 4 years and the whole time I was seen by Dr.Griffin. Such a friendly and kind dentist. At the time my braces were coming off they brought in Dr.K and this is where the dentist office took a turn for the worst. From the moment I got my braces off and was given retainers I was assigned to Dr.K who would make my experience there just terrible. Every appointment with Dr.K would consist of me going to the office and waiting 10-15 minutes just to sit in the chair for what felt like seconds. He would merely look at my teeth sometimes just at a glance and then walk out telling the dental assistant I could make another appointment for 6-8 weeks from then after barely looking at my teeth. His appointments made me feel as if my money was just all he was after. After I finished payment of my braces that's when I would only be seen for maximum 5 minutes per appointment. Things were much different when Dr.Griffin was in charge and had the help of Dr.Carol. They actually took the time to explain everything to you and be there during the whole process. There's many Orthodontists around the Bay Area who take better care of their patients. Please reconsider going somewhere else do your research and find another Orthodontist someone who actually cares about their patients!!! read more

They truly 'care'! Visiting from Texas and had an emergency with son's braces. Called 6-8 other orthodontists and got the answer of we can't touch anyone else's brace work unless you transfer full care to us.
