Losing my father was one of the hardest moments of my life, and navigating the arrangements during such a difficult time was incredibly overwhelming. Even writing this review is hard for me as this is still so new. That said, I am forever grateful for the compassionate care and professionalism that Gary and the team at Ball Funeral Chapel provided during this process. In terms of service, quality and value you just cannot go wrong trusting your loved one with them. I read some of the poor reviews I DO NOT understand the upset at all. Seriously, he was amazing to us. We wanted someone professional, kind, very upfront in terms of cost and logistics and he was all of it. From the very beginning, Gary's approach was nothing short of exemplary. Unlike some other funeral homes we considered, he never once (not. even. once) tried to upsell us on services or push us into making decisions that weren't aligned with our wishes or our budget. In fact, he made it clear that he was there to guide us, not take advantage of our grief, which meant the world to my family. He was always a phone call or an email away, and he was prompt with purposeful response. He helped us navigate the complex process of dealing with the hospital, the VA, and the many other details that we didn't know how to handle. His support allowed us to focus on healing, rather than getting lost in the logistics of it all. Not to disparage other funeral homes, but they seemed to play on folks emotions by hinting that anything else than the diamond package was a stain on our love and dedication to my Dad. Outrageous! I understand that grief affects everyone differently, but if you're looking for someone who is kind, professional, and truly knows his craft, I wholeheartedly recommend Ball Funeral Chapel. Gary and his wife provided my family with the highest level of care and respect, and we will always be grateful for the peace of mind they gave us during the hardest time in our lives. Gary had absolutely zero compassion, scoffed when I didn't understand the question he was asking, acted like providing cremation services was a major inconvenience for him. Yea they're really affordable but the way they treated a family who is grieving was appalling. We went with another funeral home, spent more, but being kind goes a long way. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The experience we had with him made us feel even more upset than we already felt after losing a loved one. We should've walked away the first day when he refused to let us see our loved one. After that we met with him to write the obituary & plan the ceremony. The first thing that he said to us was regarding our drink - no "I'm sorry for your loss." When we were writing the obituary with him, he made us feel as though we were wasting his time & taking too long. This man lacks compassion for others and shouldn't be running a funeral home. To add to the list, the way he talked about our loved one was very unprofessional. This guy must have forgotten that we had just lost a loved family member & thought we were coming to hang out with him. Spend the extra money and go to a better funeral home to save yourself from feeling like crap after meeting or even talking with this guy. read more

I had my son cremated in October 2020. Mr. Ball had very little compassion towards me. My daughter had wanted to view his body and was overwhelmed because she couldn't (which we understood after brief explanation). After that conversation the little compassion Mr. Ball had went to zero. After paying (on my debit card) he rudely says I'll give you back your money and you can go elsewhere. Really? Even tho I wanted to go to another funeral service- A. Who wants to go through all the planning/talking again! B. it would take days to refund my money. I still had others things to get in order. I left feeling worse than before I walked in because the way I was treated!It also took a long time to receive my son's ashes. I finally emailed them, later that afternoon got a call for pick up. They put the ashes/box which are very heavy in a dollar tree gift bag. As my son's dad & I are walking to the car- the straps on the bag broke; on the ground is the box of ashes. Last year, my mother was cremated at a different crematorium, Better service and I didn't feel mad, or upset upon leaving. I should have spent the extra $300 and went with the other place. (NOT BALL) For the price it was good- that's why 2 stars. But for the business they are in--Mr Ball needs to learn better skills on how to talk to grieving people better and show some compassion to all who call or come in to his business. read more

I give this man one star, he was very rude and had no compassion for me and my family when we where grieving over the loss of my father, when we would call him to ask any question he would act like I was imposing on his time,rather than save a little money use someone else read more

Gary Ball was the most ignorant and unprofessional businessman I have ever encountered. I ask to pick up the remains of my loved one and he was upset he had to come in to give it to me after he was paid. He has an insulting attitude and has no compassion for you while you are grieving for your loved one. What kind of person does this to one who is in a saddened state of mind? Be prepared if you are in a position to deal with him. It would pay to go to someone else even if he is a little cheaper. read more
