She has been enrolled in multiple classes here for the past four years or so (namely tap and jazz). She is excited to go and has made many new friends here. The staff has a ton of experience and work great with the kids. The studio has many different classes for young toddler/pre-k kids all the way up through high school. Lots of enrollment in competition events. Our daughter's class actually just got a Platinum award over the weekend. A few years ago, the owners relocated the studio to the Busch Parkway address. So, the facility is new and updated. Over the past couple years with Covid, they have incorporated many safety protocols as well. They do a good job promoting positivity among the kids and above all having fun! You can't go wrong here, if you have a kid interested in dancing, check it out.

After staring at my veggie food baby that had been growing over the winter, I finally decided that it was time to take a chance and face my fears. I scoped out Yelp and came across Orinoco. They have the best introductory prices in the area (first class) and I could actually afford their single class fees ($16/class) and multiple class packages without having to sell a kidney ($78/6 Barre classes). They have a variety of classes from yoga and mat Pilates, to Tai Chi, to my new favorite, barre. I also love that the class times actually work with my schedule, as most gyms only seem to have schedules that fit a stay-at-home mom's (or dad's) or student's daily schedule. I dragged one of my friends to my first 10:05 Saturday morning Barre class (because who wants to be scared and tortured alone?!) Ana, the owner, greeted us as soon as we entered the doors and was very friendly and personable (she even remembered me the next Saturday when I brought my sister in with me). She went through their schedule, pricing, and special events that were coming up, but didn't pressure either of us to signup for anything which is UNHEARD of anymore. Maria is an amazing instructor and teaches the Saturday morning classes I have been attending. She truly pushes you to do your best, but makes sure you do not over-exert yourself at the same time. She's constantly adjusting posture and techniques of each individual student so that you truly get the most out of your workout. And let me add that this is probably one of the cleanest gyms/studios I have been to in the surrounding area! Love it! I'm so glad that I found this place and cannot wait to start adding more classes to my workout schedule! The only downfall is that there is only air conditioning in the yoga room, so I often found myself skipping kickboxing classes when the temperature crept towards the 80's and 90's, because I have no wish to faint during an exercise class. You can park in the back or on the street. Your first class is always free. I tried a yoga class and then took advantage of the October special - $25 for a week of unlimited classes. I tried kickboxing, hot yoga, warm yoga, and I brought my husband and daughter in for a trial class as well. Bottled water and snacks are offered for a voluntary donation. Free small towels, use of mats & props, and free hot tea as you leave. Lexi Wynn yoga bags, yoga accessories and jewelry by local artists are also for sale. I've been in a rut at my gym so I checked out Blue Sky to see if mixing things up might get me motivated again. I tried & loved the kickboxing class because you are actually kicking and punching a bag. There is nothing as satisfying as finally getting to your workout and finding that your jab/uppercut has some oomph to it! Angie, the owner, teaches both kickboxing and yoga, and I've appreciated the sense of community she is trying to build both by being a resident of L'ville and business owner but also in taking the time to get to know her clients (by name) and connecting clients to the community. This month she was taking donations of gently used and new bras to donate to The Haven. Next month will be donations of non-perishable food items for the food banks (and free Friday Happy Hour yoga with a food donation!). She also offers some fusion classes, and family classes that would be great for parents with younger children. Prices are very competitive. And, a little secret. You can share a multi-class pass with family members! I actually had no intention of sharing my pass with my daughter and husband, but what a deal! My only fear? In October I enrolled in the Yoga Teacher Training program which was sponsored by TBY Yoga and The Yoga Effect. Julia Jonson, Andrew Gurvey, Sally Gill and Anna Ottolino are authentic and have a deep understanding of this ancient practice. I am grateful for the knowledge that I have gained from Julia and Sally's teaching. Their techniques capture the yoga philosophy and presence of movement that calms my mind and I appreciate the positive atmosphere they create. I know as I continue on this path my yoga teaching will keep strengthening my mind, body and self awareness. Having practiced in both studios, I can say with confidence that they each have a welcoming and supportive atmosphere that is adaptable to all levels. The instructors are excellent and they make you feel like you are the most important student in class. Their clients' wellbeing is at the center of everything they do. After completion of the program, I feel fully prepared to teach effective and meaningful yoga classes.

I initially wanted to sign up for an aerial yoga class, but was prompted to take a "beginner" pole…read moreclass instead because it started sooner. It turned out the class was a Beginner II rather than an intro, and the instructor was more of a demonstrator than a teacher. Despite struggling, I still enjoyed the class enough to sign up for a second session. That session was oversold, as the only pole available had a huge floor flaw that was TAPED over. Over the course of the class, the tape and adhesive became tackier and eventually ruined the shoes I was wearing for the first time. This resulted in my shoes literally sticking to the floor, so I couldn't complete a move and ended up painfully smashing my knees against the edge of the pole base, resulting in bruises on both. Despite being oversold and unsafe, the studio refuses to refund my session fee. I had two credits from signing up for the first session, and I asked for a refund after the 2nd class of the 2nd session. I should have my entire fee refunded, but they took two weeks to write me back and let me know that because the semi-present instructor didn't know I was in pain, they are going to KEEP MY MONEY?!?! The instructor saw me trying to remove the tape and goo from my shoes, but they are literally going to try to weasel out of being accountable with this. They should refund me for my session, replace my shoes, and acknowledge that their studio is UNSAFE, their classes are oversold, and their practices are shady. Really disgusted by the entire experience, it's a shameful way to run a business, and the lack of concern and support is negligent and irresponsible.

Michelle was very patient with our group, and helped us maneuver around the unknown of aerial fitness. The studio is split in two: one side for aerial fitness, and the other for poles (both are offered in 8 week packages). The studio also hosts various other classes such as women's self defense and hula hooping. The workout was definitely challenging, but we all had so much fun! I highly recommend this studio for anyone interested in trying aerial fitness or pole classes!

This may work for adult fitness, but I don't think it was good for a kid's birthday party. All of…read morethe apparatuses are way too advanced for them. It's basically parents walking around hoisting their kids onto equipment that is behind their scope, and then having to hold them. There were no organized activities, save for the dodgeball game at the end. Even then, you couldn't even hear the instructor give directions. They would be better to have microphones. Instructor didn't seem like she was enjoying herself at all (no smiling). We started out in one area and then moved onto the next. My kids were bored in 10 minutes. They therefore went back to the first area, only to have an employee scold us for going back there because "it was already cleaned for the next group." We had no idea they were getting ready for another party. Again, it would have been better to politely say in a microphone prior to moving (so all can hear) that "we are moving on to another area and to not go back to the former as it's being prepared for another group." When we got to the eating area, one of the employees was so intrusive with the bussing of the table! She kept reaching out under *everyone* to get every little wrapper, juice box or a plate that appeared finished. For the love of God! This was so aggravating and other parents noticed as well. At least twice I had to tell her that my kids weren't finished. You couldn't even set something down without fear it would be taken right away! Another thing I found rude is that the employee announced coldly that the kids "couldn't get the cupcake until their pizza was finished." What the hell? This was not enjoyable at ALL, and my 2 boys (7 and 8) did not like this place one bit. We felt shoed out the door. Suggestion: Have employees who actually interact with the kids with organized games. Employees need a microphone as well, for announcements. Smile and cease the cold and demeaning comments. When in the eating area, PLEASE let parents and children eat in peace. Clean up afterwards, not during!!
