I initially wanted to sign up for an aerial yoga class, but was prompted to take a "beginner" pole class instead because it started sooner. It turned out the class was a Beginner II rather than an intro, and the instructor was more of a demonstrator than a teacher. Despite struggling, I still enjoyed the class enough to sign up for a second session. That session was oversold, as the only pole available had a huge floor flaw that was TAPED over. Over the course of the class, the tape and adhesive became tackier and eventually ruined the shoes I was wearing for the first time. This resulted in my shoes literally sticking to the floor, so I couldn't complete a move and ended up painfully smashing my knees against the edge of the pole base, resulting in bruises on both. Despite being oversold and unsafe, the studio refuses to refund my session fee. I had two credits from signing up for the first session, and I asked for a refund after the 2nd class of the 2nd session. I should have my entire fee refunded, but they took two weeks to write me back and let me know that because the semi-present instructor didn't know I was in pain, they are going to KEEP MY MONEY?!?! The instructor saw me trying to remove the tape and goo from my shoes, but they are literally going to try to weasel out of being accountable with this. They should refund me for my session, replace my shoes, and acknowledge that their studio is UNSAFE, their classes are oversold, and their practices are shady. Really disgusted by the entire experience, it's a shameful way to run a business, and the lack of concern and support is negligent and irresponsible. read more

I hosted an Intro to Aerial class for my Meetup group at Flight Fitness on 07/23. We were given the option of trying silks, hoops or hammocks, and the majority voted for silks. Michelle was very patient with our group, and helped us maneuver around the unknown of aerial fitness. The studio is split in two: one side for aerial fitness, and the other for poles (both are offered in 8 week packages). The studio also hosts various other classes such as women's self defense and hula hooping. The workout was definitely challenging, but we all had so much fun! I highly recommend this studio for anyone interested in trying aerial fitness or pole classes! read more

I can not say enough about how good this place is. Flight Fitness Studio is my confident booster from the moment I started taking classes. I grew stronger physically and mentally since I started this journey. I had very low confidence, not comfortable with my own image, but everything has been changed!! My new favorite gym studio! I've been a student here for about 3 months now, initially finding this place through class pass. The very first class I took was Intro to Pole and I instantly fell in love with the class. Michelle was the instructor and she paid attention to each student and gave us adequate time to learn each move. The entire class is instructed around a dance routine which you get to do and record yourself on camera. (I will never show this to anyone...) After the class I signed up for the pole level 1 series which runs in 8 week sessions. If pole isn't for you there are also classes that feature Lyra, silks, aerial yoga and more. I've tried out the aerial yoga and plyra classes and I throughly enjoyed them. Each teacher is super friendly and have their own unique style so it is awesome to try a class from each instructor to see all the different ways you can incorporate moves. I highly recommend everyone try at least one of the classes they offer here because it is definitely worthwhile and you will be challenged. Overall, I think the best part about the studio is that everyone is different but you don't feel judged at all. I love the pole classes here! I decided to come back do the 8 week pole series after taking a break because of school. I missed it a lot! My pole instructor Kendra has taught me some really empowering choreographies and tricks. Every class feels very fun but still slightly challenging when learning new tricks. I took a one on one sessions at flight fitness because my schedule did not work with the group classes. Totally worth it. At the time I really just needed a place to focus on myself. I brought my daughter and her friend here on a GroupOn I purchased because they were interested in Aerial Silks. We were pleasantly surprised that they lucked out in having a private class with Michelle and another instructor in training. This could have been due to the earlier time of their class. I sat watching and was impressed with how Michelle led the class and my daughter and her friend were both comfortable asking questions and had no fear in trying something new. I seriously love this place. I started in the middle of Feb 2018 with a groupon for an intro class. Classes are super small and I have NEVER had to share a pole with other students like you do frequently at other studios, even when i took workshops, I have my own pole the ENTIRE time. Michelle and Molly are such great teachers, always taking the time to help you get the move you are working on or come up with an alternative move that works for you and your body and your ability level. There is a huge variety of classes offered throughout the entire week and all weekend long! Reasonably priced and makeup classes are offered when cancellation policy is met. Michelle just expanded her studio and I am super excited for the opening party (date TBA)!! so much more room for more classes to be happening at the same time! Terrible. Complications with Groupon purchases. According to someone there I have to repurchase and now spend double the amount to come to my class. And they're saying only one person can come but the deal I bought was for two people to come to class. Emailing everyday with these people because they don't answer the number on website.! And yes they redeemed my voucher when I didn't even go to the class! Stealing money Seems like a scam just to get more money from an innocent civilian and I'm truly disappointed as I was so excited to try it for my first time. I'm a new student and joined almost a month ago. I'm loving the Level 1 Pole Series. It is an incredible workout and a very fun experience. All the instructors I've met are talented and very nice. First of all, pole is an amazing workout that is so much FUN that you never want to stop or have to talk yourself into doing. If my car broke down on the way to class I'd walk there, in Chicago winter weather (no joke). Secondly, it's a confidence builder. You can be meek and shy coming in, but after a few lessons you are a BAD ASS! You learn to see and appreciate your body's limitless potential with the support of incredible women who are your teachers and classmates. I was originally looking for hoop classes to learn something new but decided to try pole as well & I'm so happy with my decision. It's already week 4 into the program but I feel like I've learned so much. Michelle is an awesome teacher & is always available to answer questions. The studio is very private & makes me feel comfortable & safe. This is so important - if you feel uncomfortable in a space, you end up holding back & not giving it your all. I have so many good things to say about Flight Fitness Studio I don't know where to start! I tried the intro class and was instantly in love. I didn't realize when I showed up that I would be finding a new passion. I'm always amazed at how there is something new to learn every time and it just keeps getting better! It's like there are no limits in pole, and I love that it always looks like we defy gravity. Michelle is an awesome instructor. So encouraging, great at breaking down moves, and always providing fun-filled classes. I love that the studio has floor length mirrors, cool lighting, and lots of class options. I've also attended some of the outstanding workshops given by professional dancers. I started taking pole classes about two months ago, and I've really been enjoying them. I don't have a background in dance at all, but really love yoga and wanted to do something that was more challenging and engaging. I really like Michelle's teaching style. She combines elements of dance choreography with physical fitness. It's the perfect balance for me. Classes are once a week and 90 minutes long. I feel like I'm not only becoming more graceful as a dancer but stronger in my upper body and abs. Pole classes are empowering. I feel more confident in myself during class. I appreciate that Michelle encourages us to embrace ourselves as we are and push ourselves to our physical limits.
