We've been working with Dan and Jeanine at Blue Sky Farms since 2005 when they helped us purchase our first German Shepard. This is when they just had their house and a bunch of land. Since then, they helped us train her and train our 2nd Shepard in Schutzhund training by Dwayne. Dwayne can train any type of dog to track or protect, pretty amazing! Annnd, they've vastly expanded their dog kennel and horse area. The dog kennel is huge! Spots for the dog inside and outside. They have a huge social area, so when you drop your dog off (assuming they are not aggressive) they can have a fun time with other 4 leggers! We've left both our dogs with them and have had great experiences every time. As far as their grooming goes = top notch! Today we dropped Chief off in the morning to get his Easter/Summer Beach bod showing! Pants shortened, nails clipped and pruned and ready for the Easter ladies! He looks great. I've used multiple boarding facilities over the years, and this is the first time I've ever been charged for more days than my dog was actually boarded. I dropped him off Friday at 8 AM and picked him up Sunday at 8 AM -- exactly 48 hours. Somehow, that became three days on my bill.The owner explained they charge by "calendar day," meaning even a 24‑hour stay counts as two days. In my case, a 48‑hour stay magically transformed into three. Impressive, if you're grading creativity. Not so impressive if you're the one paying.Nothing else about the experience was terrible, but the pricing structure is misleading at best and predatory at worst. I won't be returning, and I recommend anyone considering this place ask very specific questions about how they calculate time -- preferably with a calculator in hand. read more

I really like Blue Sky. The people are friendly and knowledgeable. The treat the dogs well and are respectful of the people and their pets. I've brought my dogs here several times and have not had an issue. read more

I will not be bringing my dog here again. I had my mother pick him up from a 2-day boarding stay and the young man who assisted them stated that my dog did okay and would have been let out if he had stayed another day.... EXCUSE ME?! He also stated my dog snapped at him and was aggressive. My dog is a lot of things, but he has never snapped nor shown aggressive behavior to any person or animal EVER. I noticed something was off when I dropped my fur baby off, he was skittish (more so than normal) and I specifically told the people to call me if there were any issues and someone would come and pick him up immediately. I received no call. The next day I called up there to find out what happened, giving this place the benefit of the doubt, and immediately the woman I spoke to called my mother a liar and said that never happened. When I asked for documents detailing the issues and why my dog wasn't allowed out, she said I would have to speak with the guy to get more information. So not only did you call my mother a liar but you don't even keep record of what happens during a dog's stay? Unbelievable. I was able to gather that they supposedly put him in a separate field for outside time, and when I asked if he at least had a toy, she said "Can't tell ya for sure". This place is too sketchy for me and, once again, I will not ever bring my dog here and definitely will NOT recommend this place to others. 3/20/18 - you've been in business for 15 years but 2 years later and you decide to respond to my review? Business AND animal training are real things that you and your "staff" (volunteers) should look into. And my dog has been boarded since we stayed here (obviously because again it's 2 years later...) and, surprise, nothing even close to what you and your staff reported has happened. I was a potential new customer at BlueSky Farmz but before I booked my dogs there, I wanted to call and ask them some questions. It took numerous calls over a couple of days just to get through to them (either the line was busy or no one picked up). Finally I got someone on the line that was rude beyond belief! I started to ask him a couple of questions and tried to describe my special-needs dog. He cut me off not once but twice while I was trying to ask my questions... the final time he cut me off he said "Listen ma'am I gotta get off the phone, I can't sit here and talk about this! You can come visit the grounds between 10-2!.... I gotta go!... there are people standing here waiting in the office!" I was stunned by his rudeness for a second and paused before I told him that he was being extremely rude and they will not be getting my business. The kicker was - I looked at my phone log and our entire conversation was 3 minutes and 41 seconds! If the employees at BlueSky cannot spend less than 5 minutes to answer some questions for a new customer, then I cannot trust that they are considerate enough to take care of my dogs the way they need to be taken care of. I am still pretty shocked at how horrible he handled the situation! He could have put me on hold or even asked if he could call back at a better time. Instead - he was short, defensive, rude, and then told me I can only visit the place between 10 -2 when I already said that would not work with my schedule. read more

I highly recommend Blue Sky Farms for all dog/ puppy owners. They have friendly management and staff. They treat all dogs like their own. They helped me with my pit bull a while back with obedience and defense. He went from pulling leashes and not listening to walking freely with out a leash. I can honestly say they did a fantastic job. They also changed his diet now he hasn't shed a fur in a while. read more

I had my two babies, American bulldogs, boarded there over 4th of July weekend. It was the first time they have ever been boarded and I was super nervous. The staff were friendly and explained stuff to me. When I got back my babies seemed happy with their stay. I plan on using them again! Its a little drive out but well worth it to me! read more

My dog was placed in a crate without my knowledge. I have been taking my dog here about twice a year for a couple years. The last time I picked him up I found out that he was in a crate at night for 8 days, despite being told on other visits that he would be in a run. According to their website , The boarding price includes the following: 1. We live on site and are able to give your pet 24 hour a day care if needed. 2. Large Spacious runs that are temperature controlled. ***** 3. Hours of playtime including, but not limited too: running, romping, swimming, playing ball, socializing, love and pampering daily. 4. We are fully licensed and insured. 5. Our staff consists of dog nutritionists, behaviorists, breeders, trainers, groomers, and dog owners. I believe that we have the best staff of any kennel in the area. 6. Beds: We can provide or you may bring your own as long as we can fit it in our washer. 7. Dog toys are abundant here. Do not bring your most favorite toy, many dogs will take their toys into the common area and another dog might get a hold of it and destroy it. 8. We will feed your own diet, dispense medication, and care for special needs animals (all this is included in our prices). 9. A clean, healthy, boarding environment with music 24 hours a day. 10. A cookie and a kiss at bed time. My husband called today to ask if our dog could get a run, since he is not crated at home and they told him that they could not be reserved and the manager told him " I know what's best for your dog" . They would determine if he gets a crate or run. How can someone be so cocky as to say they know MY Dog. You see him twice a year. I'm just letting everyone know about this place. I had no problem with the daytime activities, they were great. They do let the dogs play together, which is nice. read more

I have been bringing my two large dogs for boarding for many years now and would not consider anyone else. Whenever I ask for added services like maintaining a medicine routine it is always taken care of. We once had a senior dog that had some complications before boarding her and Jeannine and her staff took great care of her and kept us posted on her throughout the two weeks she was there. The temperature controlled kennels and runs are always kept very clean. This is a family owned business and they have shown dogs and worked working dogs so they know the range of behaviors. They also live on the property so they know what is going on. read more

I have nothing but WONDERFUL things to say about Blue Sky Farms. I have two very active beagles and have in the past had trouble at other boarding places with one of my beagles. Both of my dogs are rescues and one can be moody at times and not very social with other dogs. He loves whenever he goes to Blue Sky - which says a lot to me! The staff at Blue Sky are friendly, accommodating and treat my dogs well. Highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

I give this kennel two stars because I brought my dog home alive. The first few times over a couple year period that I sent my dog to this kennel we had a good experience. Of course dogs can't talk but she seemed well cared for. Then I don't know what happened or changed but the last two times we brought our dog we were very disappointed. That was a couple years ago. Since then we haven't gone back. And unfortunately based on those experiences I cannot recommend this place. The first bad experience was that I had measured out my dog's food and put in a container with the measuring cup I used plus a couple extra cups in case and instructions on how we feed her. Well, when we picked her up she was noticeably thinner and half the container was full of food. So it was evident she was not being fed her normal amount. The second bad experience we had was that she picked up kennel cough and that was after her recently being vaccinated for bordatella. We then had to spend money on a vet visit and medication. It was not cheap to say the least. That was the straw that broke the camel's back for us. read more
