The staff member we first encountered was delightful. He took us to our 'room' and showed us around. Our caboose was adorable. The bed was soft and I had fun crawling up into the cupola and reading in the seating area. The breakfast in the cafe was amazing! If I was to send along a suggestion or three, I would mention that A) the washroom fan is very loud B) the sliding washroom door only opens halfway easily. The next half needs a bit of strength and the handles in the door or 'sharp' and actually hurt my hand when trying to open the door. C) the blinds in the caboose serve as privacy blinds only. Once the sun was up, so were we. 6:00 am is not my ideal waking time when on vacation. There ya go. Visit the trains, but bring a sleep mask with you!!!! Looking forward to visiting again.

Upon check-in, I was given complimentary chocolate and water by the desk clerk (I'm also a Rewards Club member). The hotel looks very new, I'm guessing it was built over the last couple of years, plus it is conveniently located off of the highway. My room was very clean and very spacious, plus it had plenty of amenities. I decided to take a dip in the hotel's indoor pool, which also features a water slide. My only complaint about that the pool was too shallow in the area that people would enter the pool from sliding. Continental breakfast was good and plentiful. Do consider staying here if you're passing through this part of Nova Scotia and need a hotel room for a night.

Conveniently located 5-10 minutes away from the PEI ferry, the breathtaking view of the waterfront and trees captures your heart as you drive up to the inn. We loved our two bedroom suite, which, while cozy, gave you balcony access and perfect view of the cliffs and ocean as the sun rose behind it each morning. The common spaces in the inn was comfortable as well, and Robert was a great host - very welcoming and prepared a wonderful breakfast each morning, and spent time with us to help map out our day to some fantastic off-the-beaten path spots of PEI. We had breakfast both mornings at the hotel restaurant and it was excellent. I'm a simple kind of breakfast eater with the standard bacon or sausage and eggs and I have to say it was the best I tell you!! Eggs over easy perfect!! Fresh bread used for toast and came out warm with just the right amount of butter! The potato's were sooo tasty I hardly had any ketchup with them. But the show stoppers were the sausages, it's been a long time since Ive had such good tasting sausages that's why I had the exact same meal both mornings of our stay. Our server was great and super friendly also, made you feel right at home. There's and really nice pool area with a hot tube and saunas. The only thing that's not great is the saunas are in the changing rooms so my wife and I can't go in together. We're bonvoy members and have stayed at many Marriot hotels and this is definitely one of our favourites. Highly recommend!
