When my husband and I visited London on our honeymoon, we were excited to try different types of food, as this is one of the most international cities in the world. We ate an early dinner here before heading to Tate Modern, which is nearby. Because of that, we were able to take advantage of the Pre Theatre menu, which offers two or three courses at a discounted price. To start, my husband had pierogis (with veal and pork) and I had potato soup- both were enjoyable, but the pierogis were especially good. Our entrees looked similar, since they were both breaded. I had the chicken kiev with sautéed cabbage, mushrooms and boczek (bacon). My husband had veal cutlets with potatoes and a fried egg. Again, both were very tasty. All throughout our meal, we kept seeing these beautiful, little, multicolored, chilled shot glasses flying around on tiny silver trays. I was curious what they were and when the dessert menu came out, the drinks portion featured a long list of flavored vodkas. It seemed to be their specialty, so we decided to try a couple. When we asked our server for a recommendation, he said he is from Estonia, so he loves all of them. Even though I was hoping to get some guidance on what to order, I liked that answer! We ended up trying rose petal and mint. Both were served chilled. I really enjoyed the rose petal!

This place has a nice modern, simple look inside and serves some great continental and eastern european food (particulary Polish dishes, although not as many as I thought), I wanted to have something Polish as I specifically went there for taht and I tried the Pierogi dumplings which were absolutely marvelous. They were really tasty, came with a great dip and was a nice light but still filling meal. The best thing about this restaurant is the cocktails (but they are quite expensive). I had the Warsaw Ice Tea which was great and their selection of vodkas is the most extensive I have seen in London. I have still only given it three stars as I wish there was more choice of Eastern European food on the menu and more explanation of the dishes and it had the feel of a generic modern London restaurant. There was not much that wowed me there and I felt the prices to be a bit steep for nothing that special Great place to go maybe once and if you like Vodka

Unassuming from the outside, the little entrance through the bar just off Southwark tube is a really beautiful restaurant. We wanted to try something a little different and for my carb-loving girlfriend the Polish/Hungarian food was well presented and had great flavour. Bread selection was pretty sizeable and don't leave without having a vodka!! Good spot for a more formal meal, but relaxed atmosphere. Dinner Starter: Pierogi and Spätzle Main: Schnitzel and Karowka, side of Mizeria Dessert: Vodka. Herb&Mint and Lemon.

Came here on the recommendation of a friend who lives in London. Beautiful dining room. Service was helpful and attentive without being overbearing. Food was delicious. Highly recommend.

This place looks tiny from the outside but is actually deceptively long. Although I'm not a smoker, I prefer to sit outside in the tiny terrace because in the evenings the walls are strung with fairy lights and it's really cosy. I've only eaten here once as i usually just go for a drink but the food is actually really good. When I went, I had a pumpkin, onion and tomato salad which cost £6 and I shared a blackcurrent sorbet for desert which was £5.50; both of which were really tasty. The service is good too; we were only waiting five or ten minutes for our food to arrive. It's a nice place to go for a quiet drink but don't expect a mad night out there, it closes early and is usually pretty civilised.

    Starters. Cider and polish beer.

Most of the meal is classic fine dining gastronomy but it was well-presented, the service was great, and the food was very delicious. First impressions are likely to be quite good here. The space is equal parts classic and irreverant, and overall it makes you feel quite disarmed when sitting down; this is not a stuffy affair even though the service will attend to you regularly. The food itself was very delicious. Some stand outs for me were the parker house bread rolls with "chicken butter" (this was so delicious and decadent that I had too much of it!), the lobster "wagyu'" with caviar, and the beef with morel mushroom near the end; I always love morel mushrooms but the one provided tonight was perhaps the crown jewel of all of its fungi friends. Honestly there wasn't a bad note in the tasting menu at all. Frog strangely has a 1 Michelin star which is strange because they really deserve 2. Really great meal - highly recommended.

So many different levels of flavor and depth with each course and all of it was executed so well. Every single course was phenomenal--one of the rare times where I didn't have anything that I could've done without. My favorite course was the lobster poached in Wagyu fat and topped with Osetra. It was one of those life changing bites for sure. What a fun meal from start to finish. Definitely come here!

I visited here with my book group as we just finished reading High Rise, and we wanted to eat somewhere within some brutalist architecture. None of had been here before, but the menu sounded promising so we gave it a whirl. House seemed to fit perfectly into the High Rise story. As you ascend the building (in the book), the flats become posher and people look down on the plebs who live below... In the National Theatre you only have to go up one staircase to find this lovely "house" on the first floor. Like the book, it does seem classier than the establishments on the lower level. . Anyway, yelpers, it is definitely worth visiting House, even if you don't plan to go to the theatre. The restaurant has a small, but tasty sounding menu including a set menu for £22 (2 courses) or £26 (3 courses.) Everything I tried was delicious, and everyone else seemed to enjoy their food too, despite our discussions about possible anarchy within tower blocks and pet dogs being hunted for food! The staff were all helpful and accommodating, and we had almost the entire restaurant to ourselves once everyone else had zoomed off to take their seats in the theatre. So all in all, I'm a fan.

The atmosphere here is fairly formal without being at all stuffy, and it's not at all unusual to find yourself seated a few feet from a famous luvvie or two.
