Fish & Chips! They are scrummy!! + apple crumble with clotted cream. Shrimp was not cleaned properly (still with vein) Waitress charged us for bread and water. Atmosphere was hot, loud, and cramped.

I ordered one of the most refreshing and satisfying cocktails. The one with the fresh raspberry puree and gin was perfection! This is a place with a vibrant energy and really amazing drinks! I would definitely venture back for another round...or two!

poached line caught wild salmon, sea vegetables, orange hollandaise sauce

108 Brasserie, Marylebone - Chef Russell Ford's famous Guiness brown bread £2.50 is moist, dense and has a slight sweetness, feels more like a cake. If you like your artisan bread, I'd highly recommend it. I was tempted to order it as a dessert. In ordinary words it is essentially bread and butter but this is in every way unimaginably good. June's dish of the month is a poached line caught wild salmon, sea vegetables, orange hollandaise £30.00. I honestly do not like to make cliché quotations but the wild salmon was poached to perfection - flakes off gently with a pink middle that makes me smile. My only slightest moan was that the hollandaise sauce was a slightly lumpy. A wine to pair with the salmon is this white Domaine de Montmarin Viognier 2014 France which has a prominent floral aroma but a sharp and tangy taste. Drinking this wine alone would not be my choice but I am amazed at how the wine tunes itself to the wild salmon. The sharp tangy taste is cut short and it somehow mellows out, even with the citrus presence in the fish. It is like magic and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a couple of side dishes but they were not necessary. The salmon itself was a generous helping but I could not resist the he grilled asparagus with olive oil, lemon and shaved Berswell (£4.50) when they are in season. Gently poached and quickly seared, perfect! Likewise with the Jersey royals mint (£4.50) my potato lover husband gave two thumbs up! The lovely potato skin, like a thin crispy membrane, and floury within was almost like eating a potato pop; I am not sure what that means but that's the sensation. Ford's career as a chef includes experience in The Oak Room at Le Meridien Hotel, The Dorchester, The Grove and as Head Chef at The Kensington Hotel before joining 108 Brasserie as the Executive Chef in autumn 2011. The quality of the ingredients were superb and it could not have been better to be in the hands of the Executive Chef Russell Ford. I wish I'd had room for dessert! 108 Brasserie is part of the Marylebone hotel's Edwardian townhouse. The interior dining reflects a traditional bistro style furnished with rich red leather, burnt orange mohair upholstery, dark stained oak bar, antique mirrors and nickel detailing. Don't forget that this wild salmon Dish of the Month is only available from 1st June to 30th June.

judging by the size of this restaurant, it definitely has seen better times. you will discover the sprawling floor area if you take a trip to it's hotel standard bathrooms. my experience here at lunch time was way below expectations as far as the food goes! this is despite the fact that they were having a 50% off ala carte menu! the crispy poached hen's egg was cold, rubbery in texture and the yolk hard boiled solid. additionally, the asparagus was cold and wilted. please avoid this at all cost. the rillette of salmon and cornish crab was slightly better but dont expect it to blow you away. only the lobster bisque that we ordered for sharing was of decent standard despite being a little diluted in consistency. my rump of english lamb was burnt! literally leaving a bitter taste in my mouth. the polenta was hard like rock and all dried up. the fish looked better than it tasted but was still way better than the lamb! i'm guessing all the above dishes failed to impress because of poor execution. what sounded impressive on paper was not delivered as promised. the only star i gave was for the very friendly, hardworking and apologetic staff who tried his best to please us. nonetheless, i wouldnt go back here again, not even if it's free.

If you are looking for a really posh place to take someone you care about for dinner, this should be on your list. It is a brasserie serving British food and the quality is superb. The drinks menu is extensive but abit on the expensive side, I ordered a white wine to go with my tuna steak which was excellent and very fresh tasting. My sister ordered the special Sausages from Biggles which came with gravy and mashed potato. She could not stop raving about how good it was for about 20 minutes! The service was abit slow but we did not mind as we were simply enjoying the affluent decor and attentive staff were there to take care of you when ever you needed something. I highly recommend this place but be prepared to pay higher than normal prices for your food and especially your drinks. It might be worth having a drink or two before visiting the restaurant :)

afternoon tea treats at 108 Pantry, new addition to the Marylebone Hotel

The newly refurbed Pantry at 108 Marylebone is the loveliest spot for afternoon tea that nobody seems to know about! It's been a difficult old start to 2015 so far, so a couple of girlfriends and I decided we needed some TLC last weekend. And what better reminder that everything's going to be ok than having a cuppa with friends and some fancy cakes, right?! This meant we didn't need any of the special occasion pomp and splendour, so this place was perfect for us - it's not overly flashy but the top-notch service and stylish setting still makes you feel really special. We all chose the Classic afternoon tea, but you can go Indulgent and add champers, or Healthy with a gluten-free, low-sugar offering (yeah, we were being good but not thaat good!). They presented 6 classic tea choices to us, so more manageable than the 200-odd teas I've seen on menus elsewhere. The waiter had an extremely thick accent though and if I hadn't been listening out for words like darjeeling and assam I'd have had no chance! After that, we got individual plates of finger sandwiches (average really) then a more exciting two-tier stand of scones and pretty desserts. The lemon tart tasted better than it looked; the choc one the other way around. The scones are actually usually my fave part and they didn't disappoint, particularly when we realised you could get unlimited refills! Two words that are the way to my heart ;) There was a great relaxed atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon, and the waiters are quick to respond when you make a my-teapot's-empty sad face at them but otherwise don't disturb you, which I liked a lot. We easily sat there for well over 2 hours and felt completely unhurried. It's reasonably priced for a London afternoon tea too at £28pp. Would recommend if you're going more for comfort-eating unlimited scones than the 'seeing and being seen' side of afternoon tea.

I had a dinner here with lovely company, just because the place next door had a line for 2 hours. We did get a chance to come across this lovely place. Bar, restaurant were connected to the hotel upstairs. Not only this setting reminded me of a New York. The decoration, life music and menu almost brought me to Manhattan. This place would be ideal for a drink before a night out. Loud but very pleasant music would put you in the mood. Maybe because of this american feeling I ordered a burger as the main meal. The presentation was lovely, meat well done. But the bun kind of ruined it, as it was hard. Nice surprise for me was a side dish of fried zucchini, which made up for the bun.

If you don't try anything else- try the crispy pig cheeks. One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Service and the food experience were top notch. In the bar, I had the French martini. The presentation is beautiful and the drink is light and worthy of seconds or thirds. We sampled: Seared Tuna Crispy Pork Cheeks Trout Pork Lion Baked Alaska Definitely make a reservation as the place is buzzing. If it's a nice day request to sit outside on Marylebone Lane. We were fortunate enough to have great weather and sat outside. So fortunate to get one of those tables.

If you're looking for a night out on the swanky side of town, one of the best places to go to is 108 Marylebone. Located just footsteps from Marlylebone High Street, once you enter this lounge and restaurant you'll immediately transition into a relaxing mood. This place is chic, yet not uptight. You can come here and enjoy a meal for around 15. They also feature a wide array of meat and cheese boards that are big enough for two to share. I love the presentation of the food and the random artwork on the wall.

Came here with a group of 6 for afternoon tea (108 Pantry), and it did not disappoint! We were able to make a reservation the morning of, and the dress code wasn't as strict as some other places. The pricing (as of now) is £32/pp, or £42/pp if you go with the champagne option. They have a Classic and a Gluten Free option, and both include an assortment of savories (e.g. finger sandwiches), sweets (e.g. desserts), and scones. You can choose the tea you want, and I believe you can get free refills and choose a different tea after your first pot. You can also get a free refill of one plate (savory, sweet, or scone plate). Everyone in my group was extremely full after the first round, and could barely even finish the refill plate. It was delicious, and we definitely could have spent more than two hours there.

Can you tell I don't get out much? At least for drinks. Anyway. We came here with some friends and took advantage of their 2 for 1 offer (meaning you get two drinks for 10 pounds). It impressed me that they served really good drinks for such a good price. I personally loved The Last Word (super strong but great flavour) and the Elderflower Margarita (YUM!). They both packed a punch but weren't so overpowered with liquor that they didn't taste nice. The bar staff was fun as well. The one that wasn't popular was the honey one. I can't remember the name but none of us liked it. It's a cool bar!

This was one of the few places the bf and I had booked to go to during a brief 3-day trip to London, due to the 2 for £10 cocktails and general good reviews it had. I kinda wish we hadn't! Upon arrival the place was practically empty (but it was like bang on 6pm on a Monday, so a lot of people hadn't arrived for happy hour yet) and staff showed us where our reserved booth was. All good to start off with, the place looks pretty cool inside and the tunes were good too. Here's where it starts to go downhill. I skipped up to the bar having decided with the bf which cocktails to get (at this point we didn't realise 2 for £10 meant two of the SAME cocktail, because they never mention it) and ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri for the bf, plus a Chocolate Martini for myself. Nope, couldn't get the one I wanted as they were out of chocolate liqueur, so it was back to my seat to try and decide on another. I was gutted but excited about my next choice, the Show Me The Honey. NOPE. They were out of honey vodka so I couldn't have that one either! I get that obviously it's a busy bar at weekends, but I thought that was an extremely poor show - the staff weren't hugely apologetic about it either which didn't exactly help. Finally deciding on a Russian Spring Punch (yay, they had all the ingredients for that one!) I ordered the drinks. The bartender said "you know it's 2 for £10 yeah?" but again didn't mention the fact that it's two of the same cocktail for £10. Once he started making up the drinks I of course caught on to what was happening, whereupon he looked at me like I was an idiot for not knowing something they never openly tell you. Great. I begrudgingly paid for our drinks (I wouldn't really have minded except the bf wasn't sure if he'd want more than one cocktail and we now possessed four, plus I was really wanting to try a couple of cocktails instead of two of the same one) and went back to the booth, more than a bit deflated by this point. The cocktails were...fine. The champagne in my cocktail wasn't the nicest but it did the job of course. The atmosphere in the bar was...also fine. But that was it. Fine. It stayed pretty quiet the whole time we were there and I guess just wasn't the whole cocktail bar experience I was expecting. We then made our way to Cahoots where we had an absolute belter of a time and it totally saved our night, goes to show that sometimes you really do get what you pay for!

I'm not sure how close this bar is to Brazilian nightlife, but to me this bar feels typically Brazilian in cadence. I just love the atmosphere, the enthusiasm, the music, you feel transported to another place and I just don't understand how very few people, even those living in Camden, don't know about this bar! I was introduced by a lovely Yelp friend and try and get back whenever I'm in Camden as I really love this place. To me this is one of Camden's real hidden gems. So why do I love it? Let me count the ways: Live music: I'm not sure if there is someone on every night, but I'm always shocked by them hosting some fantastic, extremely talented musicians. Intimate setting: As a tiny little venue you huddle around small tables, it feels cozy, personable and warm. Art work: Walls, ceilings and tables are plastered with art, pictures, paintings collages drape all surfaces. It's like some hipster arty underground cavern... like so many bars in Shoreditch are trying to achieve, but this place isn't trying, it has charm and personality without having to try. Caipirinhas and mojitos: Using traditional Brazilian ingredients the cocktails here are just superb... and after a few you can't help but sink back into your seat and enjoy the ambiance. I'd also recommend the Cuba Libra, I'm usually not a fan, but would make an exception here. As a cocktail bar you need to expect to pay cocktail prices, but the live music, amazing atmosphere and art are free.

Apparently the owners want it to feel like someone's living room and it definitely has a relaxed and locals-come-here vibe, although our seating area was in what was once a VIctorian police cell, which was probably less cosy back in the day. The interesting concept here is to serve small bites of food tailored to each house cocktail which a beautifully presented and explained, as are the cocktails themselves. We sampled almost all of the house cocktail menu and generally everyone was very impressed. I think several people really liked the park bench, with its strong apple flavour, although I personally found it a bit one-note. In fact, I wouldn't say any of the cocktails here got it quite right for my palate, some of the balancing of flavours didn't quite work for me and none of them particularly blew me away. They were pretty good, but there weren't any I found incredibly delicious and "incredibly delicious" is really what I am looking for in a cocktail. I had the Get Me a Bourbon, I'm Hungry and Lost in Alaska. The first was a short drink which wasn't massively memorable, contra my favourite ever bourbon cocktail, the fantastic bourborini once on the specials at Pitt Cue Co. Lost in Alaska I thought was nice although others said they thought it tasted medicinal! Service was great - helpful, patient and attentive. It's expensive, especially now I live in Manchester and can get better cocktails at the Fitzgerald for £4 less, but I would still recommend Knowhere Special, especially if you're nearby having dinner. My breakfast was therefore, savoury waffles with smoked salmon, cream cheese, poached eggs and crispy capers with extra avocados. I complete devoured my brunch after being hungry for just over 3 hours. The food was great, something different from standard Sunday brunch.
