We love coming to this venue, we have seen multiple shows here. The staff is friendly, the venue is cozy and comfortable and it is easy to get in and out of. Being in the inner harbor you could go either way but we absolutely love it! read more

This is a decent spot to see a band. Went for a metal show and had a good experience all around. Female bathrooms weren't shady and were clean. Drinks got served quickly, tab got closed quickly when requested. Wasn't overly packed or extremely hot inside. Nothing extraordinary, but a good venue in general. The only issue I had is that some of the security team seemed to be really ticked off to be doing their job and were a little rough. One guy was tossing his coats around, storming around the front, shaking his head, rolling his eyes, and even shoved a crowd surfer really hard soon after they landed to the point that they almost fell on the ground. None of the crowd surfers got tossed out or warned. I might consider putting different staff on for shows where crowd surfing might happen. read more

Not a bad venue at all. I had a decent experience here. Ample parking in the lot above (ask the venue for the validation discount ticket) and easy to find. Only downfall, I came overdressed and there was no readmittance if you leave, this carrying a bulky coat all night. No biggie. Several bars, none inexpensive but it is a venue - it's expected. Came here for a concert recently. It is like stepping back in the 80s. Black walls and dark. It was a cool night out and the ac was on and felt good until the bands came on. AC went off and got so hot. Makes you wonder if they so to get you to buy drinks. It got much hotter in there then it should have. I have been to plenty of concerts and don't remember last time I went to one that I was uncomfortably hot. I will go again to see if it's any better. I've been to Soundstage for a lot of concerts and random events. The space is wholly unimpressive but it's super dark in there so you barely notice. If it's an event that has tables and seats, you're usually seated with people you don't know, which sucks. Seeing a comedy show is also tight seating, but chairs are set out auditorium style, so less intimacy sharing a table with strangers. The VIP area leaves a lot to be desired and I'd say the food and drinks are overpriced (and the food is subpar). Despite all this, I've enjoyed all the concerts and other events I've attended, but that's more about the artists than the venue. read more

Overall a pretty good venue. First, parking is very convenient, with the garage located right next door. (Side note- get your ticket validated, otherwise it will cost double.) The staff was very friendly, especially the bar tenders. Speaking of which, they have multiple located throughout the venue, which makes getting beverages easy and fast. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean, always a plus. As for the viewing angles, if you have a group of taller people in front of you, good luck. The stage isn't elevated very high, so when its a standing room only crowd, it can be tough at times. Basically, get there early to get a better view. The sound was ok- it did seem to echo a lot. Overall I did enjoy it, and would consider seeing another band perform here. read more

If you come here, expect to be packed in like sardines and seldom served. They only had 1 waiter for a huge section. It was clear that he was overworked and overwhelmed. I almost died of starvation! If you do come here, come strictly for the entertainment. I have to admit that the entertainment was wonderful. Great sound and stage set up made for a memorable musical experience. Just don't plan to eat much. Go to Shake Shake or Panera Bread around the corner before coming here. .. Or you will be starving throughout the show. Trust and believe that. The General Manager of Baltimore Soundstage Autumn Marek is not a good Manager. Neither are any of the other managers. they don't care about the customers as people. they treat them like numbers instead of people. Autumn Marek ignored my email when I reached out to her with an email and the email was very respectful. Her name and email address is on the website of soundstage but she refuses to talk to customers when they reach out to her. I was just trying to get a couple questions answered and I got ignored. I finally got some mystery person to email me on Facebook after I made several attempts to get someone to communicate with me and all they did was dodge my questions over and over again. it's managed by people with no education in business management and they don't care about there customers. I would highly recommend that nobody support this venue. it doesn't deserve any business. read more

Steel Panther and Rival Sons tore it up. Once again, Baltimore Soundstage is a great venue to get up close and personal with your favorite recording artists. Not a bad angle from front to back. if what they are claiming in 2015 is true, that rock is indeed dead, thank goodness Baltimore didn't get the memo because I'm happy to see that the rock flag still waves in Maryland. Nice to see Steel Panther no longer doing covers as at this point they have enough albums of original material and the Baltimore crowd ate it up. I've been to this venue several times for different shows. I have been here to see Bilal, Big KRIT, Curren$y, and Yo Gotti (Tuesday). Every show I have been to has been fun. Baltimore Soundstage in a music venue located right in front of Power Plant. It's a small venue with a couple good sized bars. There is a small stage and you can get pretty close to the artist(s) during a show. It has a pretty good sound system and they have a good variety of artists that perform ranging from rock to hip hop. Parking can be tough given it's location but the last time I was there their can validate parking for the garage next door and the Pier 5. I'd say you should call and ask to double check which garage they validate for before parking. It's not a bad venue as long as you don't get stuck in the back. read more

I really enjoy going to this venue. I went to the monster energy outbreak tour and I had a lot of fun! I love how convenient parking is! Plus you can get a coupon since you went to a concert just ask for a parking discount ticket. I would recommend this venue to everyone. The food is really great too. Let me start this review out by saying I would not recommend it to anyone who is recovering from anything extensive, whether it be a head injury and you need to reacclimatize to the world, or something that ails you on the outside. Then again, maybe if it'd been the latter, I would've experienced more empathy from the staff. THEN AGAIN, before a family member stepped in on my behalf, I witnessed a white woman be given the help she needed that I genuinely requested and, had not said family member angrily rallied on my behalf, probably wouldn't have gotten. Did I mention that said family member is lighter skinned than me? But anyways... I might've let that go, considering the staff member who tried to make things right thereafter. If it wasn't for the egregious lawbreaking. "In the US, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) requires that all places of public accommodation with fixed seating that either accommodate at least 50 people or have an audio amplification system (or both) must provide an assistive listening system (ALS). If the theater does not have an ALS, you can ask them to install one. If they refuse, file a complaint through the US Department of Justice." I have traveled far and wide, and let me just say that I have never not been able to get ALS. I was told by a woman at the front, "they only uh get someone in here for that when it's called for in advance... and uh, then they get someone in here to work it." Okay, that's great Susan, but that doesn't change the fact that no one should have to call in advance to see if a system is working that should be hop skippity, according to the above law. Not to mention, not much goes into connecting ALS. I've seen teenagers at seedy movie theater counters grab the necessary equipment out of a box and flip it on, then give it to me. I would be willing to question the fact that this establishment even has ALS at all. I'm tempted to file a complaint to find out. read more

It bothers me that so many metal concerts at held at this venue. This place has such a shitty set up and such shitty policies that it's hard to enjoy any show there. Not only is there zero seating and no free water, but there is nowhere to actually talk to people where you can hear except a shitty smoking area outside, where no drinking is allowed. ThErE iS nO rE-eNtRy. The last time I went to the Soundstage, I went to my car to get something and patiently waited on the other side of the fence for the show to let out. However, when my friend was not prompt to exit, I tried to look for her and was told by a rude ginger-haired bouncer "NO REENTRY." I tried to explain that I was just trying to get my friend but no dice. The show was over. I was not sneaking in. What legitimate purpose does the policy serve at that point? My first time going to this indoor venue--the first concert I've been able to see since covid happened, and I have to say I was more than impressed. The place was a small, intimate setting with everyone in the building able to see the band members much better than in an of the big concert arenas I'm used to. I had club seating, so I had somewhere to park when my feet got sore, and the server was very good and made sure I had all the food and libations my heart desired. The staff was great all around, and the bathrooms were clean and, although clearly dated, much better than standing in line for an hour at the bigger venues. I have two more concerts at this venue this year, and I'm completely looking forward to them! read more

I've partied all around the nation and around the world. The staff here are some of the rudest, most arrogant, most ignorant, most inflexible, most narrow-minded, most disrespectful, and most incompetent people I have ever had the misfortune of interacting with. When I arrived and had my ticket scanned, no one told me re-entry was forbidden, and there was no sign outside saying that re-entry is forbidden (there is only one "no re-entry" sign attached to the inside of one of the entrance doors). I was visiting Baltimore from out of town. I explained after less than 5 minutes of being inside that I needed to quickly feed my parking meter and get some takeout food from one of the many next-door restaurants because I didn't realize that there were going to be so many opening acts and that the show would go on that long. The staff refused to take my situation into consideration, and then they made ridiculous excuses about everything. Even when I told them that I have the right to give them customer feedback and express my complaints while accepting that they wouldn't change their policies, they refused to listen to my customer feedback and continued interrupting me and insulting my intelligence with personal insults and nonsensical excuses. The venue itself has a terrible layout, the crowd was acting very lifeless, and the sound system was weak. Clubs like this run by incompetent, insecure management end up irritating their customers who then come into the venue not feeling welcome and not wanting to really let their hair down. This club is an abject failure at both hospitality and engineering. Someone should commission a study on this club and publish an article about it in every single language on planet Earth letting everyone know how NOT to manage a business. Stay away from this place at all costs and just go celebrate life at one of Baltimore's more underground venues, or if you have time, head to Washington, DC or Philadelphia instead for a truly authentic musical experience with wonderful staff members and wonderful fans. I drove straight to DC afterwards as my plan B and saw much better DJs and much cooler fans who actually know how to party in a venue with staff members who are hospitable and kind and only remove people from the premises if they are actually behaving dangerously and disrespectfully. I'm so glad I left, and I made a point of telling those inhumane staff members that I would gladly not give them another dollar of my money or another second of my time. They will need the ticket price that I paid them to pay for many outside consultants to teach them how to be civil and competent, but frankly, this club is destined to fail when the staff act like this. Arrogance mixed with ignorance is the most dangerous combination, and the staff had better realize this before they become as financially bankrupt as they are morally bankrupt. read more

My experience at Baltimore Soundstage is a mix. There was nothing overly horrible, but certainly things that could be improved on. I had the Soundstage Package for a show, and when we got to the doors, (tickets in hand) we were sent to the purchase side of the line instead of the already ticketed side of the line. The cashier, of course, doesn't have a scanner, but she got the guy scanning tickets to scan ours, and he in turn got someone to lead my wife and I to our seats. The Soundstage package is a group of 16 tables pushed close together, and is covered by one person. The gal serving the area had a pattern down, but if you missed her when she was near your section, it would be a while before your turn came up again. As some have noted, prices are a bit high (normal bar/club pricing). The food was nothing to write home about either - at least the Burger and BBQ weren't. The venue itself is decent, and both sightlines from where I was and the sound were fine. Security was on the ball when needed, and I did see one security guy go flying from his post by the stage over the crowd barricade, and into the crowd when needed. All in all, a decent place for a show, but with nothing outstanding to make it stand out from a number of other similar style places (such as Rams Head Live or 9:30 Club). read more

Small/medium venue with seating area in the back that has a clear view of the stage. I went here by myself for a show last Saturday and was unfortunately smothered on the GA floor. If I had known that there were seating tickets, I would have purchased them instead of GA tix! To all of the shorties who are below 5'4", please come earlier for a better view of the stage bc I had trouble seeing the main act in 4th/5th/6th row from the barricade. Sound system in general was nothing extraordinary, it was just overwhelmingly loud and I find that it watered down the clarity of the music. 6.5/10. But the bass of the sound system was crazy strong holy sh*t!!!!! I felt every single hair on my body vibrate it was intense!!!!! Two thumbs up for bass. Parking garage can be found @ the venue entrance in Market Pl and is located on the left beside the venue. The venue offers a discount voucher at this garage! Come and park after 4pm and the parking is just $10!!! Just make sure you get a discount ticket from the venue staff before you leave. read more

If you blink you can miss this place. On the outside, there is just a small awning. Once you step inside, you have a great setting for concerts. There is limited seating but there isn't a bad view in the venue. The food items are limited and priced for theme parks. You can park at Pier 5 parking a block away for $7 instead of $16. Just make sure you get the actual coupon from the venue instead of having a staffer tell you to just say you visited the venue. The garage employee was nice about not making me walk back to the sound stage when I didn't have the stamp or coupon. I was told that the venue frequently runs out of the validation coupons and leaves it up to the customer to get it. Having a comment written on your parking pass or taking a flyer from the club isn't good enough. You need the actual $7 coupon to slip into the parking pay machine. This place is worth a visit. read more

Who else remembers when this use to be a club (or two)? I'm happy that Baltimore Soundstage is here. They bring a variety of intimate shows to town that you would normally have to travel to D.C to see. Your experience really depends on who you're seeing so my review is just for the overall grounds. I love the grunginess of Soundstage. No matter where you stand, you can hear who ever is performing in surround sound. I like that there is almost always a bathroom attendant and the drinks are good. I try to get my tickets in person to avoid the awful fee from buying them online. There is no re-admittance so unfortunately you can't run to eat and come back, your basically stuck. I've been meaning to write a review for this venue and finally got around to it. Went here for New Year's Eve with my wonderful hubby who got me tickets to see Halestorm. Overall, I really like this venue, and will be back to see something else. They have a decent drink and food menu, comparable to the 9:30 club in DC. As for the most important part, it's very important to get here early to get a good view of the stage. This place really has potential and to accommodate a larger crowd (a la NYE), the stage needs to be better elevated. Lighting is good and sound is also good. read more

Baltimore Soundstage - Music Venues Near Me - Baltimore, Maryland

Spacious music/concert venue. I have been to two events here so far. There is plenty of space on the large dance floor and a bar serving drinks at reasonable prices. A downside is I don't recall there being a coat check which I prefer at venues so I don't have to carry my bag/jacket around with me all night. There isn't always enough seating for everyone when the place gets packed and you have to stand which is fine at concerts. This is definitely more of a concert venue than a lounge or regular bar. I've mostly seen the younger crowd milling about and waiting outside for shows although Soundstage also hosts many metal shows which attract the older crowd. The performers that come here and events hosted are eclectic so it pays to visit the website semi-regularly to see what's going down that month/week. It is also very close to the general Powerplant Live area so you can get dinner/have a pre-game drink prior to your event. Good times. read more

I've been here twice now, and both times the venue has served up a lackluster experience (this is independent of the visiting acts at Soundstage, Yann Tiersen & Chippendales, who were both great). The drink selection is pretty average. Might suit your grandma's generation, BUT NOT US YOUNG, HIP FOLKS. Where dem craft beers at??? The service also takes FOREVER. I get that they're trying to cut costs by keeping manpower low, but there is a limit. It shouldn't take 20 minutes to get a drink. Also, the menu selection was just not up my alley. 1) There are absolutely no healthy options and 2) if there are no healthy options at least have FRIES D: Lastly, the kitschy bathroom is kind of fun, but usually I go into a ladies' bathroom expecting to interact with NOBODY, but the service attendant in the bathroom dashes those expectations with her nonchalant spritzes of floral soap and casual offerings of ALL THE TOILETRIES. We came here to see Animal Incidents last week. As an older person, I was, apparently, not hip enough to know there was an opening band, Heavy Pets. (They were OK but lacked the dynamic of Animal Incidents.) The main band didn't come on until quarter to ten. Bring ear plugs, it is loud. Guinness was $9 per can. I opted for a $5 Yuengling. The food was so-so and over-priced. The waiter in the alleged VIP section was not easily attainable and inattentive. The chairs are extra uncomfortable. The dance floor is tiny. We parked next door for $20. You can take all that for what it's worth from a one-time visit from an over 40 person who paid extra just to sit at a table. There is NO RE-ENTRY at this location, plain and simple. The thing is, as painfully transparent as this policy is, it is not the most outlandish one to set in place. I am an understanding human being and I can appreciate the well-intentioned safety regulation, no matter how opportunistic it may appear. What is outlandish, however, is the lack of notification. Or, rather, communication. And I am not talking about the three written signs that were so kindly pointed out to me. What if I'm hard of seeing? What if I can't read? What if I'm having a panic attack and I just want to get out as quickly as possible to get some fresh air? Air away from the smoking section because I have asthma. Or, maybe, just maybe, I simply missed the signs. Because I'm human. And a trusting one at that. One who considers that people are good, and that people will let me know when I walk out if the venue has a no re-entry policy. So good, in fact, as to be precautionary and notify me of this policy as my ticket(s) are being scanned, before I even step foot in the venue. Unfortunately, that was not the case.I'm celiac. I got hungry. Reminder: I'm human. So, I decided to go next door (literally) to Blaze, where they have gluten-free pizza for my defunct, but appreciative, belly. Ironically, as I mistakenly walked out into the smoking section, I saw one of the three glorious written 'NO RE-ENTRY' signs. This one in particular happened to be covered up by a towel, to which I made out 'O NTRY'. My brain: "Oh. No entry. This way is not to be entered. Or exited? Okay. Let's walk around." When I got back and was fully ready to get me some Alestorm, the staff members were distracted with ticket holders. (Get it? Because I was no longer considered a ticket holder.) So, I patiently and respectfully waited in line to show my wristband. Why? BECAUSE I'M NOT AN ASSHOLE. The staff members were immediately rude. No worries, though. I get it. I'll just show them the tickets on my phone with my name and ID. Zero effect. When I asked why there was a no re-entry policy, nobody even knew how to respond. I was antagonized, and I can't help but take it personally and wonder why I was perceived that way. Even when I had returned after realizing that I had left my tab open, I was still met with insolent skepticism. We are all just trying to do our jobs. I'm not going to fault anybody for that. But, if you're going to enforce a rule, don't be a dick about it. At the end of the day, we are the ones who choose whether or not to enforce the rules and the ways in which we enforce them. A rule isn't law, even for a private business. I paid for my tickets and signed off on conditions of the website in which I purchased them, but adhering to the regulations of the venue was not a stipulation. read more

Before buying tickets, the show was listed as needing to prove vaccination and that masks were required. No one checked this whatsoever and maybe 50% of people were even wearing masks. Even security were rarely seen wearing a mask covering their face. They packed everyone in like sausages, even before covid I would have thought there is no way this is safe. I enjoyed the Biz Markie concert here. Entrance was easy. Security were respectful. However, I had my problem with the bartender on the left back. It was a man who skipped me several times. I got so angry that my friends and I that were willing to spend a great deal of money refused to purchase anything at the bar. We then chose to try the other bar in which we had no problem. A friendly woman bartender was very pleasant. We order and she supplied. And we tipped her well. read more

Good: - Decent space for shows. - Very good security every time I'm there. - Good location if you want to visit the Harbor, Harbor East, Fells Point, etc. before or after a show. All within walking distance. Bad: - Sometimes too young of a crowd but a fun time if you're okay with it. - Too dark/all lights not working in restroom. Ugly: - Purchased premium drinks (shots so I could taste it) but was served something different out of the premium bottle. Asked for the manager. Both manager and bartender refused to taste what they poured (I asked them to pour from the bottle and taste) so that I could prove it. The manager went to the back and brought me an unopened bottle of what I ordered but by then there were two issues: --- I had already tasted several sips of lower and harsher liquor within two mins. and anyone who drinks straight liquor knows what cheap booze does to the palette. --- I felt like I was put on the spot. If they, as bartender and manager can't find the problem or didn't want to taste the drink, I had to prove there was a problem that they claimed wasn't there. Besides, I was there for a show, not to have issues or get upset. I wasn't in a mood to argue. I thanked them and moved on to the show. I'm guessing that since this is a spot that allows All Ages in, the younger crowd may or may not know the taste of some alcohol and would go with the flow if it's similar.
