I like this place alright for a venue, though it's not my favourite. I came here to see ONE OK ROCK when they were playing with Crown the Empire. The venue is easy to find and spot, which is nice- the only downside is the lack of parking. The event info recommended using the Parking Panda app to pre-pay parking at a nearby garage, which is what we did. It wasn't a huge inconvenience, but I like parking as close to a venue as possible if I know I'm getting out late. The venue is close to inner harbor, so there's plenty to walk around, see, do, and eat before your show. We showed up just before ONE OK's set, and got into the venue pretty quickly. The staff were friendly and checked us in swiftly. There's a raised bar area, and it steps down into a general admission pit in front of the stage. Of course the pit was full, all the way back to the sound booth, so we crammed in to standing room only in the bar space. It was a decent view of the stage, but there were supporting pillars in the way that kept flashing bright ads for upcoming events. It was really distracting. I'd have preferred a live feed of the show so I could see the band up close or something. So I'm not a fan of the layout of the venue or those pillars, but over all, it's not bad. The sound was pretty good. Pretty standard music venue. I'd go there to see a concert again, but I'd try to get there earlier and get a closer spot if it's a band I really want to see. read more

Discount parking at the garage above the venue was a plus. Their drink prices are ridiculous - $8 for an approximately 8 oz glass, filled with ice (so in the end, you might as well say 6 oz). I agree that you can pretty much see from any angle. The bathrooms were decent. Not spotless, but not horrifying. Overall, it's not the best venue in my opinion. The Baltimore Soundstage is another pretty legit venue that holds part of the MDF awesomeness. They hold the grind/crust/noise portion of the festival and I will always buy a ticket to this stage, whether I have any bands I care to see that year or not, just to hang out at the Soundstage. They have good bar, fun crowd, and the venue itself is spacious and has decently clean bathrooms. It's super close to Ram's Head, where they now hold the late night portion of MDF, so it's very convenient. I wish there were more venues like this in New England. I would love to chill here on the regular and see some awesome shows. read more

Saw a few bands here about a month ago. I like this venue more so then Rams Head. Pro's Easy to get to Unobstructed view of stage Decent sound system Cons Expensive drinks Parking sucks, (unless your paying) but that's everywhere downtown. Bring more acts here guys. read more

Came here for a concert last week. Had no problem whatsoever and the bands playing were awesome. Really enjoyed ourselves here!

Yay! I came here to see Mord Fustang and some other DJs. Doors opened at 8 though I doubt anyone was here at that time. We ended up heading in around 10pm and there was a short line but it moved quickly. One guy checked inside of my bag, another checked my ID and gave me a bar bracelet, and then once we got inside, a third guy scanned our tickets (which we'd bought online in advance). The venue is just like a big room (reminded me of Cielo in NYC) with a elevated areas for VIP and then a stage which was converted into a DJ booth with lots and lots of speakers and equipment. There are bars scattered all over and the bathrooms are big and clean - lots of stars for that. I started a tab and the bartender who served me was super nice and remembered me each time I came back and just kept adding to my tab. It made me a little nervous at first but when I closed out at the end of the night, everything was in order and I hadn't been overcharged so props to her! Oh, and she made my drinks really strong, which I appreciated (more bang for my buck). Since the party was 18+, there were a lot of young-ish kids here, which made me feel old (at the ripe age of 25) but there were some older people here as well so that balanced things out. The sound system was pretty decent; I felt the bass in the drinks I held in my hands. And it was loud where it should be - in the front - and quieter in the back where there were tables and stools for people who needed to recuperate/discuss plans with their groups. Overall a decent experience and I think I'd come here again for the right show. read more

I've been to my fair share of concert venues in the Baltimore/DC area and Soundstage was impressive. I liked the layout of the floor/stage far more than that of Rams Head (located in Powerplant), as it provided more room and a better view of the stage. It is more of an intimate affair here, no really big headliners come through. The parking garage for powerplant is located next door for $13 - but that is better than having to walk a long way. Only downfall were the bathrooms, although clean.. had no lightening whatsoever. It was so dim I wound up forgetting my wallet in there. Someone eventually turned it in after taking my money but can't fault the venue for my mistake, just wish I would have seen my wallet was sitting there. read more

The show was amazing but there was a flood in the building with standing water and blowers throughout the building.. Mine aswell as many other People's shoes were ruined.. and the ladies bathroom was also flooded. We were very disappointed with the venue. read more

I've been to quite a few shows here during the summer and winter months. They do try to open the doors at the scheduled time. Which is pretty nice during the winter. The bar on the other hand is slow as molasses, and difficult to get a bartenders attention. read more

I dont want to bad mouth a legend but last night the Paul Mooney show was a catastrophe. How can I put this into a sane rant? The show did not start until a little after 9 with doors opening at 7. We were told several reasons including Paul needs to be paid before the show. (The contact doesn't state that?) After a few other reasons the show starts and the first comedian came on with psuedo explanations and then realized the people weren't feeling it. After he warmed us up the second comedian did a decent job before try to sell us merch. Next thing I know, Paul Mooney comes out, some jibberish was said and the show was stopped for a Q&A that didn't go well. He was on stage for roughly 15 min. And soundstage, your part in this is just as bad. $7 can beer. Mandatory prep fee for ordering food besides the tip. Video shown was not even completely on the screen and the audio was just as bad. The DJ was not in sync with either comedian. I gave 2 stars for the location, easy parking and the waiter. Tall white brother with a pony tail was great. I will try your venue again but my first ever visit was horrific. I hope Paul Retires with all his glory in tow and not getting people to come out, pay their money and get that product. read more

Just saw Black 47 and the governor's O'Malley's March. Concert was great and the printed ticket included a coupon for sane parking. Whole price for ticket $22. Cost for parking would have been $30. Thanks to coupon it was $7. I'll go back if they get equally good acts. read more

I've been here a handful of times with the latest being Oct 18 for The Lox, Westside Gunn, Conway & Benny The Butcher show. I noticed some upgrades to the reserved seating/vip area. That's where I used to view the show from as it provided a good viewing area from a wheelchair user's perspective. I quickly had to find another option. I chose to venture over to the left side of the stage and luckily it was empty enough for me to get a spot right up close. I was a few feet away from the bar and wanted to grab a drink. Just before I got ready to, a young lady who I believe worked at the venue walked her dog through the area I was in. On her way back, she was carrying the small dog and sat him ON THE BAR so that the two bartenders could pet him. I was appalled. But it was made even worse when I continued to observe what the bartenders next move would be and unfortunately it was not to wash their hands. I did however see them continue to serve drinks and handle exposed straws with the same hands that was just petting someones dog. Needless to say, drinks and or nachos were off of the table for me at this point. There was a restroom attendee with a fully stocked counter of restroom accoutrements. The staff wasn't bad from what little I encountered them. As a matter of fact, they were barely visible from what I could tell. All in all, it's not a bad place to see a live show. But I hope they tighten up on their health and sanitation practices. And I love dogs, but come on, son! read more

I went here for the John Waters Christmas Show. The show was excellent and the seating options were great. The parking is really convenient and they will validate your ticket to get $10 off, which is really nice. The staff is friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. Now for the not so good... the food was absolutely terrible. I got the crabcake sandwich, which was perhaps not the best choice from a bar, but this was beyond bad. It was a pile of slop on a bun. Not even in a cake shape by the time it reached me, it just dribbled everywhere and tasted like wet bread. For $16 I was upset. They told my friend they could make her a vegetarian sandwich, which turned out to be whole pieces of celery and carrot with a piece of cheese slapped on a bun. I know that wasn't on the menu, but for the cost it was really disappointing. The drinks were good but the table service was pretty slow for a completely seated event. We were there for at least 2 hours and only asked I think three times if we needed more drinks. It took 15 minutes to get our check after we asked to close the tab. Overall, the venue is nice and I would come here again for a show and drinks, but I would not eat here. read more

I've been to a few concerts here and while I love the space, I feel like it is always so hard to hear the singer. The band ends up being super loud and I can never hear the words from the singer. Super bummed because it would be great to rock out here more often but the sound acoustics have been below average. read more

Went to the Corey Taylor show and had a great time. There was confusion about the show start and when we showed up they walked us right to our seats. We had purchased the show package. The food was much better then anticipated you got $10 per person for food credit. I had the chicken quesadilla another person in our party got the shrimp panni. The food credit was for FOOD Only it did not cover drinks which they should make clearer. The food filled us up we did not have dessert. We had a few drinks, service was good the staff there seemed real easy and upbeat. Not the typical rock scene staff. Now for the real stuff. The sight lines were fantastic, the sound was great especially , the room had a real cool intimate feel to in. It wasn't cramped like Rams in naptown and not as cut up like Ramshead Live. Everything was one level, however the back area is elevated a couple of steps. The bathrooms were clean which is really important, like 4 or 5 bucks for a beer. Concert Tickets seem to be cheaper there overall, I see some shows there listed around $20 a ticket and I have seen the same acts elsewhere and paid like $30-35 a ticket. I am not sure how that works. Parking was easy we parked at Pier V which was just $5. They give you a discount coupon. The beer selection could be much better, they had no draft beer like rams in naptown beats them there. The menu in Naptown is also bigger but the food was certainly equal. I just reentered the world of live music with a trip to the Baltimore Soundstage, and I really liked it. The food was tasty, the drinks were strong, the bartenders were friendly and efficient, the staff was kind, and the venue is the perfect size. Much like Goldilocks, I found the Soundstage to not too big, not too little, but just right. Good views from pretty much anywhere you can stand, good sound (I hate blowout, and a lot of venues do it), and a no-fuss photography policy. The only reason they got 4 instead of 5 stars is their box office policy. I stupidly forgot our tickets. I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone and tell me whether they would accept looking at the tickets on my phone or if I had to have the printed copy. We had to go back to DC and missed some of the set. Again - this is my fault, but I wish they'd provided just a little extra customer service. Box office closes at 6, even on show nights. Perhaps they could forward calls or something similar. Overall, it was a great experience, and I hope to go back many times. read more

I had to up my review. These guys have been nothing but nice to me. I have been here several times and I have always enjoyed myself. The reason why it's not a 5 is because there are some small things that need to be worked out. At times before the event, things are not as organized as they should be which leaves us all outside waiting for them to let us in. They have been open way too long to have these issues. Some staff may be late and the communication is not always on point. We the audience are the ones to suffer. I am sure this can be worked out but it may have to start from the top. After the show, if there is a M&G audience, it should be organized better as well. It is way too much confusion going on and that process can take an additional 2 hours after the show. That's way too long. This is my constructive criticism and I hope they receive it that way. For the fans, I am not the only who would like to meet the people we pay to see, and I think it should be worked out to have more M&G participation from these artists coming to Baltimore. I went here back in January just before Snowmaggedon kicked off to see Simon Rex and Mickey Avalon. On New Years I purchased said tickets on my phone and accidentally bought two packages for two (table seating and waiter service). I wasn't able to find two friends last minute to attend the show so we just had a four top to ourselves. Mandi was our server and did a great job taking care of us. It was loud and that's no easy feat to reach all guests without interfering during the show. The food was basic nothing to write home about, but what could be expected. We had a food credit that came with the package, so $ 20 was taken off. We ordered a buffalo wrap, chicken tenders, nachos, Yuengling, Strongbow, and Grey Goose mixed drinks. I liked the divey and intimate space, and the elevated stage where our tables were located gave us a great view and interactive feel while Simon and Mickey were being weird and doing their musical thing. In the future I would get another package versus standing room only. read more

This is the type of place you can go and just listen to good music. It's not fancy, over the top with people that are trying to be seen. If you are into discovering new upcoming artist this is a good place to see them hone their chops. During the evening I had a health issue and staff went above and beyond to assist and support me. My only regret is I lost my favorite pair of sunglasses. read more

Updated: 3/3/13 After having been contacted by Baltimore SoundStage, I would like to amend my original review slightly. Yes, the food is still really poor and the management was very misleading in their representation of the VIP section. However, it has come to my attention that the Baltimore SoundStage had no control over the line-up. Again, I still think they could have suggested starting earlier to avoid losing so much of the crowd for the third band, but it is not their fault for actual the line-up. Everything else about my opinion remains the same. Last Friday 2/8/2013 was my first time to Baltimore Soundstage. We saw: The Main Squeeze, Kermit Ruffins and The Stooges Brass Band. (New Orleans style music / Mardi Gras event). All the music was AWESOME. Tragically, the event ran very late (and started 30 minutes late also), which left the last band (Stooges Brass Band) with less than 1/3 of the crowd after Kermit Ruffins and the BBQ Swingers left the stage. As soon as Kermit's band was done it was a mad dash to get them on stage before the whole crowd left entirely. I realize now, this has nothing to do with Baltimore SoundStage - but with the bands directly. However, they could have started the show earlier - having 3 "jam bands" and starting 30 minutes late certainly doesn't help. But they could have set up to start at 7 instead of 8 (or actually 8:30) and maybe more of the crowd would have stayed. It's not a bad place to see a music act. I thought it was a tad loud (and no, I'm not that old...) My husband and I were both partially deaf afterward - lots of ringing in the ears. And no, we did not see a heavy metal band either. But as for small, local venues go, it is a decent place to see a band. I still prefer Ram's Head Live if I had a choice, but if you really want to see the band and they are coming to Baltimore Soundstage - then by all means, don't let the actual venue stop you. However, I would suggest eating and drinking elsewhere. We purchased VIP tickets and were sent a seating chart by the Manager that indicated we would have tables. That was not the case. And she made a point to email us the day before the event to let us know the kitchen would be open. So we decided to go when doors opened, sit at our table and have dinner there. BIG MISTAKE. Firstly, we didn't have a table to eat on (I'm an adult, I don't feel like eating out of my lap anymore unless I'm at a ballgame.) So that was the first distasteful event of the evening. Then we got the food - which let me just say - eating at a ballpark or stadium would be better. Our burger was tasteless and seemed to come from a freezer. And the menu we got in person was only half of what the online menu looked like. I guess they decide what to unfreeze the night of the event? I would not recommend eating there at all. I think my biggest disappointments fell to the utter misrepresentation of our VIP section by the management and the food. We were left to believe our section would have tables, which wasn't the case and would have made a huge difference for all of us eating and drinking there. If I had thought we'd pay an extra $20 each for just a chair, I might have asked for a refund. We did have a waiter for our VIP section of the venue. He was fantastic. He was engaging, and very responsive. He was the bright shining star (aside from the music) of our evening. There are 3 bars - which is nice, but the drinks are severely overpriced. The street parking stinks for this whole area of Baltimore - so more than likely you will have to garage it. And in Baltimore, that can add $20 to the evening. But they do validate - so that helped. The parking with validation was $10 rather than $17, and there is a big garage right above the event. Finally, can I say: PLEASE GET RID OF THE BATHROOM ATTENDANT. I utterly hate them - they are intrusive and annoying. I know how to go to the bathroom by myself, wash my own hands and dry them. Why do I have to tip to pee now? (Also - the lighting in the woman's room is horrible - you need a flashlight to see the back-half of it and most of the doors don't lock.) read more

I've only been here once and that was for the NOLAfunk Mardi Gras concert (which was AMAZING), but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The location is convenient to PPL and the Inner Harbor, and there is a parking garage right next door. I didn't eat here, so I can't comment on the food, but the drinks were hit or miss depending on which bar you went to (they have 3) and which bartender was pouring. Although I was just drinking beer, my friend had Crown & Coke, two of which were good but one tasted like it was all Coke. And the drinks are expensive! Two beers and one Crown & Coke was $18. So don't plan on getting drunk in here unless someone made it rain for you. They do validate your parking, though, which will take $10 off your parking fee, which does help but I still ended up paying $10, which really isn't that bad by Baltimore standards I guess. The guy at the door was pretty friendly and helpful, and the bartenders were pretty quick to acknowledge us. But the true highlight of the night was the music (as it should be). Being a HUGE fan of anything New Orleans, I was thrilled to see that Kermit Ruffins was coming to Baltimore, and he didn't disappoint. The opening acts were good, but really Kermit brought the house down, as he always does. If you're used to buying tickets to a show and having a designated seat, this isn't your place....this is standing room, and yes, you're gonna have to push your way up to get close. But this really didn't seem to be a problem....all of the concert-goers were pretty considerate, and everyone was just there to enjoy the music and have a good time. With that said, I did hear a couple of people complaining that they had bought "VIP Packages" to have a table reserved (think small bar tables), and that "some women" had taken over their table. OK, I'm just gonna say it though.....judging by these guys' looks and attitudes who were complaining, they should be thanking God that these women came to their table and just smile and share rather than whine about it. Really. Fellas....when a couple of pretty girls come to sit at your table, just go with it! Looking at their website for upcoming acts, I'm not sure how often I'll be coming back as the music isn't really my cup of tea, and seems to be geared more toward the college crowd. My one complaint (other than the weak/high priced drink) is the bathroom. First of all, the lighting sucks. Second, the doors to the stalls won't close, so you have to do a Cirque de Soleil routine to be able to hold the door closed, get your pants down, do your business, then get yourself back together without exposing yourself to everyone else in the room. And really.....WHAT is the deal with Baltimore and the restroom attendants? PLEASE get rid of this! It seems like every restroom in PPL and the Harbor area has this ridiculous feature, and I utterly hate it! I know how to turn on the faucet, get my own soap, and dry my own hands. I shouldn't feel guilted into tipping someone just because I had to go pee. Really, this is just intrusive and VERY annoying. I realize these people work only for tips, but I shouldn't have to tip someone for handing me a paper towel that I would not only be perfectly capable of getting for myself, but would actually prefer to do so. read more

Music was fantastic. Everything else about this experience was enough to turn me off from ever patronizing this venue again. The food selections were mediocre at best and basically consisted of expensive sandwiches that did not live up to the sticker price. We waited about 30 minutes for the most inattentive server ever to take our order. Then it took an additional one and a half sets of opening acts before our cold and not very delicious food was brought to us, and another big chunk of a set for our drinks to arrive that had obviously been made when we ordered them from the amount of melted ice in them. In all that time (two hours approximately, I checked) our server came by our table three times, two of those he had to be physically touched in order to get his attention. We watched him go to each of the tables in front of us several times during that time. The venue is wholly unimpressive and filled with the the stackable chairs you see at church functions (ie uncomfortable). They also crammed people in for this event (after drastically changing the seating scheme after I'd bought tickets) so we were really close to our neighbors. The final straw, and the thing that took this experience down to one star, was the fact that one of the headlining acts (the one who I'd actually bought the tickets to see) dropped out of the show God knows when and there was ZERO notification. Not an email. Not a tweet. Nada. I show up, get my ear drums blown out by music way too loud for the venue, eat food I would never choose to order, only to find out the artist I came to see wasn't performing at all. #blown read more

I went to the Baltimore Soundstage for a show, but I was turned away by security. The staff insisted that I had already been inside and was kicked out earlier in the night. They refused to see if my ticket had actually been used (it hadn't). They refused to check the security cam footage to see if it was actually me who got kicked out (it wasn't). They refused to let me talk to management. They called me a liar and told me to go home. After a while, I did. I wrote an email to the general manager to complain about how that situation was handled. It's been about 4 weeks without any sort of response. Definitely the worst customer experience I've ever encountered. read more

I don't hang out in Baltimore often, but I had the opportunity to relive my teenage dreams at a show here. I'll spare you who was there exactly. If you know what NKOTB & BSB means then you know what I was there for. For me this was a watered down 9:30 Club and I mean that in a nice way. For the show it was the perfect size. Due to the nature of the show (all ages) a rather scary looking lady aka correction officer type went down the line to check IDs if you intended on drinking as we waited for the doors to open. This made it easier on the bartenders to just look at your wristband which was a-okay in my book. Inside there's 3 bars with 2 in the back by tables where you can apparently eat. Hole in the wall looking venues don't get my appetite going so I can't comment on that. For my crowd everyone piled to the one bar by the stage. I was smart enough to go to the ones in the back to avoid lines. Again maybe it was the crowd but getting a mixed drink here was a no-no. Hardly any alcohol. Next rounds were Angry Orchard... which they ran out of mid-show. Knowing this would be a majority female crowd they should have ordered extra. One cool thing I will note is they had a deal where you could get a bucket of I think Miller (eh) for $18. Beers started at $6. The stage is small yet accessible if you were in line early enough to secure a spot. In the bathroom they have a nice attendant who offered me Victoria's Secret products to Juicy Couture fragrance if you're into smelling like that mixed with Miller Lite. I declined. Though smelling like Cucumber Melon from Bath & Body Works was tempting. The Harbor is literally right there. If you want to do things before a show you can easily walk to it. Parking seemed ok. I was there earlier in the day and we parked in a garage across the street from it for $23 daily flat rate. I did see while in line that the garage next to or above the building had event parking for $10 though I am not sure what time that starts. Some people lucked out with street parking, but I'm not familiar with the prices there. Friendly staff. Good show. Good crowd. I'd come back if I wanted to see a cool show. read more

Here to see India Arie....seriously doors did NOT open at 7pm as stated and when they opened at 8pm there was still a line in which we had to wait another hour. I was just seated at 8:53p it's just gives a bad name to Baltimore venues when things like this happen. AND MY nearly $100 tickets are HORRIBLE HORRIBLE VIEW. I won't be back. I knew it was a reason why I hadn't been back in over 2years. Show was supposed start at 8pm. NOT. I'm really disappointed and it's basically ruining my concert experience. Because all of this review is based upon my first 2hours of being here. Do better BALTIMORE SOUNDSTAGE. I'll never be tempted to see another artist here. I'll gladly drive 45mins to DC. I was very, very skeptical going in to last night's Carbon Leaf show based on the reviews here about the venue. However I would not hesitate, at all, to go back to Baltimore Soundstage. The show was awesome, intimate, my wife and I walked right up to the stage, and the sound was great. I wasn't too keen when we walked in on the idea of having to stand up for several hours but, given the great sight lines and the fact that we were so close I didn't even notice at all. I'm still riding a high about the experience! In the interest of full disclosure I will say that the only negative would be the security. Lets be real, we are there to see Carbon Leaf so the crowd isn't exactly the rowdiest (despite the Irish influences). But after the show the security staff that I encountered were extremely standoffish - both inside the venue and at the door. One of the bar tenders had lent me a sharpie with my promise to return it (life saver by the way - thank you bar tender working the rear bar to the left of the merch table). However he was gone so I approached a bouncer to ask him to return the pen. It was almost like he expected me to be a drunk jerk (I had one beer) when I went up to him. Then the security at the front door seemingly wanted to argue when I was asking for the parking voucher (I guess one of the lots changed names yet I was calling it what it was on the ticket). I thought the bartenders were nice though I only went up the one time. My wife went up several times and didn't say she'd had a bad experience with them (she's not the type to be shy about it). I'm guessing the folks that didn't enjoy the venue went to see acts that should be playing in larger ones. I was pleased to see when we went in that regardless of where you stood you'd have a great view (even in the back) UNLESS it was so packed you had to stand behind one of the two support columns. For a group like Carbon Leaf it was perfect. read more

This has become my spot to enjoy both local music as well as up and coming national acts. After the Recher in Towson closed this place filled a badly needed niche in the Baltimore Music Scene. Plenty of parking options nearby and you have a wide variety of restaurant options in the immediate area. I have been to several events here and spent New Years Eve with Halestorm (probably the best NYE I've every been to). The staff is very helpful and events are well coordinated. I do recommend arriving as early as you can if you'd like to get near the stage. read more

Nice venue. Very small and intimate. Clean bathrooms and friendly staff. Saw Adam Ant there and the sound and lighting were really good.

HORRIBLE PLACE , after the concert was over, the security staff rushed everyone out. While I was waiting for my significant other at the bathroom. I was choked out and picked up by security after talking with them about waiting for my intoxicated girl. They didn't care, quick to put their hands on you and force you out. I was STRANGLED and dragged out. I will never go back to this club. read more

Although I feel like the space is nice I was hugely disappointed with the staff. I went to a show with a group of friends, bands and sound were great. After the show we headed up to the merch table and decided to have a last drink at the still open bar. At the same time we were handed our drinks we were approached by security saying that it was closing time and we had to leave! No last call or anything! I asked the security guard to refund the money we had paid for the drinks we were not given the opportunity to finish. Nope. She offered to let me talk to the GM, he came over and basically said he had no control over the situation, they ask the bartender not to keep selling drinks but he doesn't listen. He then said fine, you can finish your drinks. TWO seconds later, here comes security again tell us to leave. Things got a little heated, I think I called someone a bad name but I was pretty angry at this point. Security spoke about how professional he had been and and then threatened to call the police for trespassing, meanwhile there were still concert goers in line at the merch table. I probably won't be back unless there is a band playing that I can't see anywhere else close by. The staff and gm need some pointers on how to treat paying customers. read more

I went to see August Burns Red headlining with Miss May I, Erra, Fit For a King, and Northlane last night. Overall I had a great time. The people who go there are fantastic and everyone is there to just hang out and have a good time; whatever that may look like. The security is good in keeping the idiots from getting too out of hand and making sure the trash leaves the place. It seemed like everyone was really enjoying themselves and just looking out for each other. I also liked the location and, being the city, expected to pay for parking, but was very much pleasantly surprised to get a coupon for $3 off parking...way to go! Lastly, the venue is set up well with plenty of space for people who want to go nuts, stand around, or otherwise do their thing, the lighting is great, and they seem to have quite the variety of shows for people of all musical tastes. Unfortunately, however, I had to give them 3 stars. I was real disappointed by the sound quality. Now certainly it was loud and everything but the mix seemed to be horribly muddled. I'm not sure if this is typical of every show here, but for this I know the bands all sounded much much different from when I've seen them at other venues (not local-OH, CA). It was a real drag because it was so hard to make out the different parts of the band and hear the vocals, the only thing that really ever stood out was the bass which really isn't all there is to a song. I'm sure the sound guys there are excellent, but I hope they really fix that problem because it certainly put a damper on me enjoying the show. I talked with a few people in between shows and found out they frequented the place as part of the local metal scene. They had the same feeling towards the muddled sound as well. This is a great venue and, when it comes to metal, you certainly have some big ticket bands come through. I would love to come back and hang out with you but please, don't ruin the music next time by mashing all the tracks together so the song loses its musical intricacy that those guys spend so much time putting together. At the end of the day people are there for music, so forget all the whining about drinks and food, I sure hope to see, or hear I suppose, the much better sound quality the next time around. This place absolutely sucks!!! Sound is horrible. Tickets are oversold, and crowd is overserved. Ordered a Dogfish Head Tweason Ale (supposed to be $6 according to sign) but computer.charged for $7....then the bartender tries charging us for F*CKING TAP WATER.....IN BALTIMORE!!!!! SERIOUSLY? Venture was ok, drinks expensive, and we paid over $20 for parking at the lot above the place, AFTER getting our ticket validated. Total BS. read more

yuk, poor everything! they charge you for a chair, to sit on!?? also charge $1.00 for earplugs!? over charge for beer water, everything!! and parking, well cost more than the ticket!?? not, not not a good place to see a concert. and also, once you are in this place, you can not leave and come back in! bad all the way! find another place $25.00 for a chair!? read more

I really like this venue ive been here for numerous shows most recently lucero... (which everyone should know ;)) and then again tonight for state champs. Hit the lights. Tiny moving parts. Let it happen and northbound. The venue is a nice sice still give an intimate vibe with a capacity of i think 750 im not sure on that. It is a good place for all ages shows( dependong on band of course) but small enough for someones first show. Over all i love the venue. Enjoy your shows. :) read more

I love this venue! They bring a variety of music to the area and I prefer the intimate setting over big arenas, etc. Never had any issues and parking is convenient. You are so close to the artists. I am going again in a couple of weeks. I highly recommend! read more
