I couldn't recommend Baltimore Washington Endodontics more! I saw Dr. Wycall for a root canal on a tooth that had been previously treated for the same problem and had a post and crown placed on this tooth. Dr. Wycall thoroughly explained the issue I was experiencing, what may have caused this issue, and what the treatment plan moving forward to treat the tooth would be. I was informed the entirety of the process. I would like to highlight that his dental assistants are fantastic! They're also incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and kind. Lastly, Baltimore Washington Endodontics has an incredible front desk that is welcoming and friendly. They were able to provide me with information to give my insurance company to ensure it would be covered. If I need future work done, I will not hesitate to return to Baltimore Washington Endodontics. read more

The front desk staff is friendly thoughtful courteous & cheerful by phone & in person . They run ON schedule . Exam seems exceptionally thorough. Explanations are clear and easily understood . Obviously management treats staff well also as the are cheerful & enthusiastic . Treatment was quick & pain free including the numbing . I felt nothing ! I was referred here by a local amazing dentist. Unfortunately they aren't my dentist. Professionalism is key to any business and I assumed this was understood however when I sat for 1 hour 25 mins and had not been seen by the doctor for a scheduled surgery, I then knew, never ever make assumptions. It's funny how they tried to downplay their lack of professionalism ... if a patient doesn't pay ... keep that same energy ... but we all know it won't be the same ... Absolute worst experience I have ever had with a doctor's office. Was referred to them from Columbia Dental and after my awful experience trying to get a root canal, I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. Can't take appointments ahead of time until they've filled their earliest appointment slot, charged me for an unnecessary x-ray scan costing 300 dollars which I confirmed with my dentist was not necessary. My only complaint is that they charge for a CBCT Scan that they claim is not covered by insurance however, I went to a different dentist who accepts the same insurance and everything was covered. Doctor Jarboe and her colleagues at Baltimore Washington Endodontics have blown me away. I was referred to the practice by my general dentist for a root canal (yikes). Of course, my initial fear was that the process of getting an appointment would be a tedious one and would keep me in suspense, I've never been so happy to say I was wrong. I called the office after leaving my regular dentist on a Thursday afternoon and was able to be seen that Monday. The desk staff were absolutely on top of everything, sending me all of the information I would need to complete prior to so that I could streamline the process as much as possible. Come my visit Monday I checked in 10 minutes prior to my appointment time and was promptly taken back to discuss my dental concerns and the background of the issue with my tooth. Coming from a family in medicine, I always appreciate when a new doctor takes the time to find out from me what is going on before blindly jumping into doing work. We had a 3D imaging completed on my mouth which proved to be a lifesaver as my tooth had roots much longer than what could be seen in the initial x-ray from my regular dentist. After getting my consultation taken care of, and meeting Doctor Jarboe who would be performing my procedure, I was able to have a next day appointment scheduled. My appointment started on time, was prefaced with an outline of costs as well as what insurance was covering. Doctor Jarboe explained the process in detail as I always prefer to have as much information as possible. The process from start to finish was under an hour and resulted in me feeling far better than when I had first come in. One would feel that when doing a root canal, a small amount of pain is to be expected, again I was pleasantly surprised that I had no discomfort during or after the procedure. To make the experience even better, Dr. Jarboe also inquired about my interests and the music I listened to so that I could have music to make the experience even more relaxing. Overall I don't believe anyone enjoys being told they need a root canal, but I was fortunate enough to have an experienced doctor who not only saved my tooth but made the process a relaxing one in which I feel like I couldn't have possibly asked for a better experience. Ideally, root canals would be avoided, but if you ever have one the team at Baltimore Washington Endodontics is truly the only choice that makes sense in my mind. Dr Julia evaluated me for root canal and did the procedure the same day. Even before she started, I appreciated the calm friendliness and professionalism of the entire staff. They made me feel comfortable and checked in with me about how I was feeling, which continued throughout the procedure. I was surprised to hear from Dr Julia the next day. WORST EXPERIENCE EVERERIENCE EVER. I was referred to this place by my Dentist. Just as a precaution I went onto my insurance website to confirm it's in network. I scheduled an appointment 3 weeks out even though I stated I'm in excruciating pain however I know if there are no appointments it can't be helped so I decided to go ahead and make the appointment. I get a call a week later stating they don't accept my insurance as I have HMO. I explained to them that my health care coverage is HMO however my dental plan is PPO. I even sent them pictures of the front and back of my health care card and in the back it states the following "This plan is part of *insurance company* Dental PPO Network". Apparently that wasn't good enough for them so I spent a week and half going back and forth between this office and my insurance company. The insurance company reached out to them 4 times to confirm I have PPO, sent them 3 faxes giving them my dental plan coverage details. They still insisted that wasn't good enough as their insurance specialist was still telling them I had HMO. My appointment is supposed to be in the next 5 days but I finally broke and called to cancel my appointment. WORST OFFICE EVER TO DEAL WITH! INCOMPETENT and straight up assholes. They hung up on the insurance agent 3 times because they were "too busy" when they were simply trying to prove I had coverage. What kind of garbage shit office are you guys running??? I swear, they make enough money so they just shit on the rest of the people. I really hope you get hit with a lawsuit if you haven't already. read more

I highly recommend this Endodontics group. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent atmosphere in the office. The place was immaculate and state of the art equipment, you can see they invest in the well being of their patients. I had a root canal today and I can't believe I am saying this but it was the single best dental experience I have ever had. I was nervous for days, leading up to the procedure. The doctor explained everything thoroughly and clearly. Dr. Harbor and Tracey were outstanding. There wasn't any pain! They let me know how things were going and how much they had left to do. Dr,Brian Wycall is the man for root canal! Awesome experience I had with him and the team at this location. I suddenly developed a tooth pain (most likely from grinding on my teeth too hard!) and knew there's something very wrong that I need immediate dental attention so I called to this office at 8:15am and I was given an appointment for 9:45am same day! 45 minutes later I walked out with very minimal discomfort and didn't even need to take anymore pain pill after I got home. Wow!!! I'm very wimpy but I sure didn't have any moment of fear from beginning to the end, that's impressive! Office is very clean. Front desk is professional Assistant was friendly and kind. Dr.Wycall, awesome doctor with his skills and his bedside manners. He was very gentle and caring and I didn't feel being rushed. He knew exactly what he was doing. Love! read more

They have reviews on other sites removed. I was given unnecessary x-rays for profit without a dentist explaining why they needed to be done. My insurance company confirmed that a claim was submitted for the same exact x-ray my primary dentist submitted to this office prior to my visit. In addition, the insurance company stated a claim was submitted and subsequently denied for a "pulp vitality test" that was never performed. I received a note on an estimate that was emailed prior to my visit which clearly states a dentist would discuss if a CBCT scan is required. That discussion never occurred. After the unnecessary x-rays were taken, a dentist appeared and referred me back to my dentist for a "filling" and sent me to the front desk to pay a $273 bill. So basically they did nothing but make money. A few different employees said they would look into a refund, but never provided it. On top of all of this, someone called and asked for my medical insurance information, which seems very sketchy considering I provided dental insurance. I recommend you avoid this practice and review your prior estimates with insurance for duplicate claims. read more

So I found myself in need of a root canal. After 2 days of pain and a referral from my dentist I was able to get a same day appointment with Dr Jarobe. I honestly didn't know what to expect but was in so much pain that I was past the point of caring and just wanted to feel better. Dr. Jarobe completed my root canal in under an hour with no pain at all. I went home numbed up expecting to be in pain after the numbing medicine wore off. No pain through the night, no swelling and feeeling like myself again. This was surprisingly a positive experience and I would recommend this practice to anyone in need of a root canal. read more

I had a root canal done two days ago by Dr Wycall. When the numbness wore off later that night, my bottom lip was swollen beyond belief, and there was a noticeable puncture wound in the middle of my lip. My instruction sheet said to call OFFICE IMMEDIATELY IF THERE IS ANY VISIBLE SWELLING. I have now left two emails and two voicemails, plus I called the office yesterday. So I have made FIVE DIFFERENT ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT HIM OVER THE LAST 2 DAYS, OVER WHAT IS SUPPOSEDLY AN URGENT MATTER, AND HE HAS MADE ZERO ATTEMPT TO GET BACK TO ME. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. Based on his complete lack of professionalism, and the fact that he is obviously avoiding me, I now believe this swelling and puncture wound are suspicious and he must have done something wrong that he doesnt want me to know about. I cant think of any other reason for this childish behavior, or for my injury. SO IF HE WONT SPEAK TO ME, HE WILL DEAL WITH MY ATTORNEY INSTEAD! read more

I was told that I would need to pay for a consultation fee of $150.00 (I was charged $161 after the consultation) even though my regular dentist referred me for a root canal. I'm not sure why any one would need a consultation especially, if you were specifically sent to receive a root canal by your dentist but.... went along with it. Then I was told I needed additional x-rays even though my dentist had forwarded my x-rays to them. I wondered how my dentists was able to see I need a root canal and these dentists weren't able to see that with my scans (by the way I ended up being on the hook for the x-rays I did not want nor think I needed). A week after my root canal, I receive an additional charge for $189.00, and when I called the office to find out what it was for, I was told that my consultation was for $350.00 and that insurance did not cover the difference. I've been informed I need another root canal, but will not be going back there ever again. If you decide to go for dental work at this practice, ask for your costs and make sure it's on paper, so you can avoid these types of surprises which I hate! read more

My 9 year old son's adult tooth turned gray after he was hit in the mouth with a baseball. Our pediatric dentist recommended Dr. Wycall's office. From the moment we booked the appointment I couldn't have been more pleased with this place. The front desk staff is exceptional and sent me an estimate broken down by item right away so there were no financial surprises. During our consultation Dr. Wycall was very friendly and really put my son (and me) at ease. He tested the tooth that was affected as well as the surrounding teeth and thoroughly explained everything to me. He even offered that during the root canal they could bleach the gray tooth from the inside out so that it would have a normal appearance. When we came back for the root canal, with a combination of goofy gas and a few tricks Dr. Wycall had up his sleeve, my normally very anxious son was very calm and oblivious to anything that he might find scary. Once it was over, my son said that it was so much fun he wanted to do it again! I don't know what better review there is for a dentist than a nine-year-old who just finished a root canal and can't wait for another one! As we were leaving, the front desk staff was super friendly as usual and really sealed the deal on the amazing experience he had. I had my first visit here today, which I would say it is my last visit with Dr. Lina Jarboe. My dentist referred me here after a X ray and said I needed a root canal. Basically I couldn't tell anything wrong with my tooth from the image ( I have some general medicine background). Dr. Jarboe should have seen the X ray from my dentist, as I got an estimated cost including repeated X ray and CT scans. However root canal was not on the list(she already knew I don't need a tooth canal). They didn't explain to me at all but just asked me to follow them to finish all of the scans. After that I realized they just did something unnecessary, and my tooth was fine. Dr Jarboe wasn't sure with my swollen gum but just wanted to give me penicillin saying if you never used it, you should not be allergic to it, which makes me feel so dangerous. Even more, she had no patience to explain what was my condition and what she could do to help. She kept looking at her watch, and finished our conversation with saying I got to go. I hope she can revisit Hippocratic Oath again! read more

Will not be revisiting this practice and after my conversation with Mandy at the front desk I decided I needed to write this review. Was surprised when I received a statement (bill) for almost 70 dollars for a quick consultation. Was told at the visit that It was most likely going to be covered at 100 percent. (I have good dental insurance) Contacted my insurance company which stated If they resubmit with another code (I even gave them a choice of two codes..per my insurance company!) that the bill would be payed at 100 percent.Again, this is per my insurance company. It was the difference between a code for a consultation or an exam. Tomato.. tomatooooeee....Anyways, Mandy refused to adjust it and said I would be responsible for the amount on the bill. She then got snippy and stated she could bill me also for "an exam" basically meaning it would increase my statement of charges.. So much for customer service. I need a root canal and because of this I will no longer return to them to have this procedure completed. Thank goodness I'm not in a rush for it. They lost out on billing my insurance a few thousand for this because of a co pay they were going to get paid for either way. When you walk in they are pleasant enough..the office looks nice also but If you decide to use them PLEASE ask all sorts of questions about billing and what you are responsible for and what will be covered BEFORE you let them touch you or you too will end up with a bill and un unco-operative front desk attendant. Don't sign anything before you are informed and get things in writing. When I told Mandy I would not be returning for my procedure she was unsympathetic and said that's fine I'll make a note in your chart. Guess they don't need my business..
