I have tried the chair reflexology massage and the table massage and both were wonderful, thorough and deep with pressure points. I usually can't lie on a table for 90 minutes without my back hurting, but his massage was so thorough my back never hurt. I appreciate the deep tissue movement in my gluteal muscles. That rarely happens in the more expensive salons. This is not a rub. They actually get in and move the muscle tissue, so it's not for the faint of heart. I was surprised how thorough the chair massage was. If you only have 30 minutes, soak your feet, get a shoulder neck, face massage as well as calf and reflexology. The warm wet towels were always scented, and so relaxing. I left feeling like jello: loose and very relaxed. I fell asleep on the table a few times. read more

A really nice massage location. It's $25 + tip for a 1 hour foot massage. While they focus on the feet, they also massage the rest of the body over the clothes. Really nice therapists and great pressure too. They're a bit understaffed as the massage therapists (during treatments) break away to address the phone and people walking in which is a bit of a bummer. Still, it's a great use of $40 (after tip) and you feel pretty great afterward. It's an AOK experience and worth a visit if you're in the Lafayette area. read more

Stopped by on a whim and was immediately taken back to the foot massage room. I had an incredible massage and was so fully relaxed at the end. I had no idea the price so when he ran my card and I saw $25 my jaw hit the floor!! $10 tip to my wonderful massage guy. Amazing value and lovely people. It is definitely run more like a true Asian massage place--you may have someone leave to answer a phone and you are in a room with other people (for the clothed foot massages). And today, there was a bit of noise, someone doing some construction work in an adjacent room and phone answering, etc. For me, I'm perfectly happy with that, doesn't bother me at all. Do not trust these people - I am in disbelief... My husband spent $80 on gift certificates for me for Valentine's Day, which 7 months later Lafayette Bamboo Forest refused to honor because the gift certificate expired after 6 months. When I got there and spoke with the manager, she completely refused to honor the gift certificate and would not provide the services, even though there were no other customers in the place. I explained to the manager that we had paid the money up front for the services, but it didn't make any difference to her. I was truly amazed that she let me walk out the door of her business. It seems to me that Bamboo Forest might want to be a little more flexible as they try to become established in the Lafayette community and as people in the community talk about their services. While I understand that I could have paid closer attention to the dates (sorry, busy working mom taking care of elderly parents), the fact is I was trying to redeem the certificate one month late... and we had already paid...give me a break. There are lots of high quality holistic services in Lafayette - Bamboo Forest is certainly not the only show in town. I have to say I feel duped - what other business in town would treat their customers this way? So, the people at Lafayette Bamboo Forest took our money, and then flat out refused to provide the services. Really lame. With the other competition for massage, I'm really surprised they would be so short sighted and treat paying customers so poorly. I wonder how long they will last in Lafayette. read more

Wow! I did a 30 minute reflexology and 60 min full body massage. This is not massage envy. You're going to get worked on. I feel so rejuvenated and relaxed. Jerry was really nice and consistent with pressure. My boyfriend had a lady, but didn't get her name. He was also very pleased with his massage. The place is clean and comfortable. The staff struggles with English, but they are all really nice. They greeted me with water, and made sure I drank more before I left. I will definitely be back! read more

My wife and I were out to dinner one night in Lafayette at an adjoining restaurant (I know, we're high rollers) when we jokingly talked about going to Bamboo. A few days later, I read some reviews about the place and was surprised by how highly it was recommended. For $25, I thought it might be worth a try so I scheduled an appointment for the two of us. I wouldn't say I've had a lot of massages in my life, but I've had enough to know the difference between a good and bad massage. When you spend $75 for an hour long session, you expect an great massage. For $25, I didn't have super high expectation. Holy crap, the rub down my wife and I each got was easily as good as massages I've had for more than double the price. Yeah we didn't have a private room and we did have to put up with a lady who kept making weird breathing/moaning sounds, but the staff here knows what they are doing when it comes down to the actual reflexology. Other review already describe the actual massage so I won't describe that, but will reiterate that it is the best bang for you buck I've ever experienced. I had this tiny little thing named Kim work on me. I would have guessed she was a gorilla though with how strong her hand are. She even walked on my back at one point which was...well it was magical. I just scheduled another visit for tonight and I'm hoping my second experience is as good as the first. I do have higher expectations though so we'll see. I also noticed on their web site that they are charging $30 for an hour in the chair instead of $25. Still totally worth it. Highly recommend giving this place a go. read more

We started going to Bamboo Forest when they first opened and have continued to go back about once a week since then. We have bought several packages, which is an even better deal but their regular prices are very reasonable. I personally have had massages all over the world and by far I have received some of the best massages here. Henry and Kim, the owners are the best, not only are they the best therapists but wonderful people. Their shop is clean and welcoming and they always offer tea or water and special treats like candied ginger or dried apricots. They are very accommodating to what ever you need. We started with the foot massage which is actually a dressed full body massage while your feet are soaking. We have also done the regular full body massage and have upgraded to include a facial mask, hot stone etc. All turning out wonderful. During your massage they use a hot towel to wipe you down so you don't leave oily, but it is also very relaxing. I can not say enough good things about this shop. read more

This is the type of place where if you ask for the 60 minute FOOT massage, you will instead get the entire 'over and semi-under the clothes' body massage. I wish I had been insistent that I really only wanted my feet massaged for 60 minutes because the whole pulling of the shirt to reach down with oil is awkward for us ladies who wear bras! My wife and I were out on a date and we decided to call up and see if we could get in a Friday night. We called and get a an appt. When we got there they offered us a the free aromatherapy and hot stone treatment as well. An hour massage for 30 bucks. It was amazing. They do a little hitting and the guy was a little rough for my wife, but I loved it. The place is amazing, I felt transported. Can't wait to go back again. They asked for more tip after I gave them 20%?!? I got a 30 min foot massage and 90 min full body massage for $80. Fantastic price, of course. But I mean, it's a Chinese no-frills massage place - massage table is very uncomfortable, you hear people talking the whole time, but the actual massage is awesome. When I went to pay, the guy behind the counter asked for cash. Okay. They did not have a sign at the front saying "cash only." But okay. I'm Chinese, and I frequent Chinese restaurants, so I get it. Luckily, I had the cash on me. So I gave them $80 cash plus 20% tip ($16). He takes the cash and puts it into his wallet. Ummmm, okay, do you have to be THAT obvious that you are evading taxes? You give Chinese people a bad name, but whatever. The guy behind the counter then asked for more tip!!!! He didn't speak great English, so I didn't comply, thinking that I must have misunderstood him. He left and went to the back. I looked at the other customers in the waiting area, and they all looked puzzled. One customer said, "He didn't mean to ask for more tip - must be something else." The guy brings back my masseuse! She then proceeded to ask for more tip! She said, "Two hours! Need more tip!" I was shocked. I said, "Okay, but I gave 20%." She said, "Two hours long time." I asked her how much she wanted, and she said "$20 tip minimum." I gave her the money and left, while the other customers in the waiting room were shocked and shaking their heads. I took my dad who never had a massage before and he is also claustrophobic. The owner, Kim went above and beyond and made him feel very comfortable and gave him a great massage. I cannot say enough good things about their customer service. You definitely get the bang for your buck here. read more

I have been to Bamboo Forest twice and I am addicted. It is the best way to spend an hour and their pricing is so low I almost feel guilty. I suffer from chronic pain and the reflexology gives me some relief that I am desperate for. The staff is very nice and I highly recommend treating your self to a wonderful experience. read more

The ambiance is relaxing, the staff are quiet and professional, though they understand and speak very little English and didn't ask what I wanted from the session. Maybe (or maybe not) this is the way Asians do things but isn't standard CMT protocol in the States. Expect an okay back massage/friction massage with repeated emphasis on only certain parts of the back. She did not work on my neck or shoulders which is the real issue for me, and almost nothing on the arms. As to the foot reflexology part, as a certified foot and hand reflexologist of many years I can tell you this was not a "reflexology" session--little emphasis on the reflex points and really more of a standard foot massage. It felt good but I did not sense any serious application of actual reflexology technique. I was quite surprised since they have reflexology charts posted all over the office. I wouldn't go back because I'm interested in actual reflexology and deep tissue massage and can get it any number of places for a slightly higher price. read more

I've been back a few times since my first visit to Bamboo Forest in Lafayette. I really wouldn't go anywhere else. The people are professional and serious about their work. I had a stiff neck and the masseuse worked on it for me until it was relieved. You can ask them to help you with any problem areas. He also worked on my feet. Heaven. Love this place. They use a lotion that is not greasy. And you can keep your clothes on. It's easy to get a massage there. No big ordeal. It always smells lovely, and it's clean. After the massage, they offer you a cup of tea. Once it was jasmine and yesterday it was ginger. Both were delicious. read more

This place is FanTasTic! I've had a lot of massages from a lot of different places but this place is the best. The foot massage is only $25/hr and they end up using reflexology on your whole body. It's not a 'real' massage since you don't take your clothes off (except for socks/shoes) but I think they do a better job. I get bad headaches and if I go there once a week, I get fewer headaches. They do a lot better job at getting rid of pain than any pill the doctor ever gave me. Gotta run, I've got a 5pm appointment there right now, on a Sunday! read more

Can I say AMAZING! My husband got me a gift certificate here for Christmas. I booked an appointment for 30 min foot massage/90 minute body oil massage. It was better than any other massage I have ever gotten. Lucy was incredible. So nice, professional and amazing job she did.I felt extremely comfortable and relaxed the entire two hours.I will never go to any of those other expensive spas again. Most of time they sucked anyway. If you haven't gone yet. Book an appointment and go. Remember to tip the workers BIG! My first experience was great I had a foot massage. The second time I went I had an hour and a half massage full body it was horrible. Noisy, the person kept leaving in the middle of the massage to take care of the front counter. Not relaxing I didn't feel like I was in a private room because I could hear everything that was going on because there's no ceiling on the individual rooms. But the constant stopping the massage to go answer the freaking phone was ridiculous I will never go here again I will never recommend it again. read more

I am super particular about massage and given that, I'm a bit amazed that I have nothing but great things to say about the treatments at Bamboo Forest. I was just there with my teenage daughters and a friend of theirs & we all had chair massages w/ hot stone treatments that were amazing. I was a little bit dubious that they could really give a thorough treatment through our clothes, but the therapists all did a fantastic job. Their touch was firm and they all seemed to be able to detect where our sore/tight spots & worked those areas extra. The ambiance was everything it needed to be for us: quiet, warm, nice smelling, soothing music. I really could not ask for anything more and for the price it's even more remarkable. I heard a lot of good things about this place on Yelp. I never have a full body message before but willing to try anything for once. My person who worked on me was a gentlemen and his skill was wonderful. Believe me he knows what he was doing. He started from the head to neck to feet then hamstring and up to my back. The guy was amazing really, there no other words that I can say that do justice. This place only charge $25 per an hour, they can charge $50 and people would still come in. OMG that is the cheapest relaxation I had ever had. I end up tip the guy $15 because he worth it. I will come back again and again and again. Best of the best, no doubt about it. read more
