I went there today with a couple of family members. Even though a buffet & the food was fresh -seems to be a limited amount of variety of meats. I enjoyed my salad with lettuce - tomato's- ranch dressing & watermelon cubes- peaches - the server checked on us often - it was nice and cool on a very humid sultry day. This is a long time restaurant in the local area. The age is really showing on the inside and it looks like everything needs to be replace. We have stopped going in and sitting at the restaurant but will order off the menu for take out. Quality seems much better than off buffet. read more

Personally, I love the taste of the food at Bamboo Garden. I do wish they would put out smaller trays of food and change them out more often. Seldom can I catch the mozzarella sticks or shrimp when it's still hot and pliable. We'll be back next week as usual. I have been going to Bamboo Garden since it was a very nice sit down restaurant. I gave gone often since it has become a Buffett but recently I have found a decrease in quality of food. The crabmeat salad varies widely from time to time, sometimes dry, other time too soupy, a lot of crabmeat then mostly celery and onion. Also in my last thee visits the food is always cold! I tried coming at different times but the result is the same. The last time I ate there the stuffed mushrooms were raw! Today everything I tried was cold as if the steam table might need to be turned up! I have decided to go some place else for buffet. A real shocker was finding a flaming jar candle in the ladies' room!! That room needs more than a candle to improve it. read more

Do not recommend. The food is ok, however most was COLD (mind you it was prime time lunch, 12pm). The restaurant is very dark and uninviting. Service was fine BUT I don't understand why a 15% tip is automatically added. It's a self serve buffet with cold food. We stopped here for lunch on our way back to Norfolk. We actually wanted to go to Denny's but it was packed. The food choice is pretty decent for the price whc was $10.99. They seem to have quite a few regulars seeing how the owners greeted them. Overall this place does has decent food. My only gripe is that they automatically charged a 'service fee' making the bill for 2 pax + 1 drink to be $30 instead of around $25. read more

The last few times I have ordered Crispy Duck for pickup I arrive home only to discover old, salty and tough duck and not the tender pieces you get when you are eating in the restaurant. I am upset since I pay the same money, that when you order take out you get leftovers seemingly reheated. Never going back since i set there a the bar and ordered in the restaurant thinking they would not dare give me old, stale and to tough to eat duck but they did. Never going back again, as the owner was bragging about his European trips at our expense of his selling us old food. Id say this buffet was ok. Service was great but the food was no different than any other Chinese buffet, the variety was not so large and neither was the resteraunt. It would also help if the resteraunt put music, because as I went in, it was so quiet that it felt akward being in there with a bunch of strangers and at the same time the tables were kinda too close together. This has got to be the absolute WORST buffet t ive been to and ive seen some crappy ones. For one, not a very good selection of food, it was really dry you could tell its been sitting there for a while. The ice cream looked really old and was mixed with each other. We were there for about 30 minutes and i didnt get my drink till we were about to leave which was a singapore sling which that was probably the only decent thing about this place. The only person here apperently that can make drinks is the same guy who makes sushi which is what he was doing the whole time. read more

Wow! Not sure why all the bad reviews. I eat here at least once a week for either lunch or dinner. Now mind you, I eat like a bird and still eat kids meals to fill me up. But I can come here grab a to go box, get a huge scoop of rice, some sweet and sour chicken, some lo mein noodles and walk about spending $3. They have a huge selection of Americanized Chinese food. They also have soups and a few different types of rice on the back wall. The dessert selection isn't all that good but they do have a huge selection of different ice creams. The salad/fruit bar is also pretty large and has a great selection to make a really good salad. Actually puts the local Ruby Tuesday to shame but that's not saying much. They have a sushi bar, but can't really say much on that as I don't eat it. (Try their white sauce over at the sushi bar, it's great!) I have never been there and seen an empty pan on the buffet line. They keep it well stocked and fresh. Keep in mind though, it is a buffet and the chances of getting the best tasting food is at peak eating times. Don't come at 3pm expecting a gourmet buffet line of food. If they did that, they wouldn't be in business still. The owner is also super nice and so is every staff member I have come in contact with. This place is tucked away in the back with Subway (and right next to Ollies). Atmosphere was much nicer than I expected. Also much bigger than it looks from the outside. At $8 the buffet was a good value. The food was hot, seemed fresh and there was plenty of variety - even Sushi if you are so inclined. I stopped by here on my way South. It's behind a Bojangles and next to a Subway. I would have been more disappointed if I hadn't been so hungry. As it was, I was quite hungry and ate two platefuls. I just love this place....a group of us come often and do we love it...this restaurant has been in Henderson for the last 15 or 20 years which is unusual, most of them don't last that long....the reason this one has lasted is because the food is so good....love the egg drop soup and the fresh food on the buffett...the owner and his wife and family have have always been kind, friendly and polite....we have watched his children grow up in this restaurant...Ashley has always been so much fun to be around...she spots us when we come in the door and brings our water with lemon as soon as we sit down....we will miss her when she leaves for college this fall....five stars for this restaurant...food is good and very tasty.... read more
