The niece and I were craving for something refreshing as it was a humid afternoon. She suggested Bambu since it was about a 5 minute drive from where we were. I'm familiar with this chain as we have quite a few Bambu shops in my city so I agreed for the ride. I ordered the #1 with added lychee fruit, my niece ordered a Taro smoothie, and we ordered one of the specials for her mom. The drinks themselves were really sweet -- too sweet for my liking. I would've thought the coconut water and ice would have diluted the drinks a bit. I wasn't jumping for joy at first sip but maybe that it something I need to keep it mind should I visit another Bambu franchise again -- more ice and less of whatever it is they use to make the drinks so darn sweet. Other than that, it was a quick in and out drink run. No indoor seating. Cash and card accepted as of August 2022.

Bambu has so many different drink options, and I've never been disappointed. It's a pickup counter so it's easy to grab and go. Not really any seating if you're looking to stay though.

This review is long overdue just because I had mixed feelings about this boba tea place. Bambu is a trendy milk tea spot that was probably the more popular chain in Lowell until the others showed up. I like the charming white and baby blue interior design but again very strange music selection at times, obnoxiously loud hip-hop, r&b, that doesn't quite go with the allure of this place. But the last few times they toned down the volume and added pop into their playlist. They are located deep in a shopping plaza with a huge parking lot. Ice Honey Iced Black Milk Tea- Amazing when I had it the first time. I love when I can taste the bitterness from the tea, light on the milk with just the right amount of honey. And then several times after, it was a bit too milky and deluded with water so now when I came back, I had to ask for less milk and more tea for it to be good again. Pina Colada Smoothie- Taste tropical! My partner's favorite drink. He likes it when there's more pineapple. Taro or Pandan Waffle- Both taste similar, with a slight taro or pandan flavor. It has a mochi texture that I didn't mind. Macaron- I believe they order it directly from NY, but it's still good when I need my macaron fix. Overall Service: More towards the beginning, the service was terrible but as time progressed, I think they got the swing of things and it's less awkward and abrupt. The staff are nice and accommodating. Plus my nephews and sisters like this place when they visit, so we'll be back!

Bambu is a popular Vietnamese dessert and sweet drink franchise in CA, so I was happy to stop by a MA location. Overall, I prefer the Che here at Bambu over Coco Leaf. The ingredients seem to be more fresh and flavorful. My go-to Che order is the Bambu Favorite that includes pandan jelly (a must!), grass jelly, and red tapioca in coconut milk. They did a thorough job packaging my drink with ice on the side in a nice sphere and sealing the Che drink. I wish I lived closer to Bambu, but it's likely better this way for my waistline!

So for some reason Bambu does really well in California (lines out the door) but seems to struggle everywhere else. When I lived in the suburbs of Dallas I saw two Bambus come and go. When I moved to NH 2 years ago for grad school, I knew good chè (traditional Vietnamese dessert drink) would be hard to come by. Luckily I live somewhat close enough to Lowell to make the trek out here from time to time for my Vietnamese food cravings. I was pretty excited to discover that a Bambu had a location in Lowell. What's great is it's located in a shopping plaza so there is ample parking. Most food places in Lowell require street parking. Chè is best if it's homemade but Bambu is a decent alternative. Keep in mind it won't taste like mama's chè and take it for what it is. Most of the options have either a coconut water or coconut milk base. Bambu isn't great but it's nice and refreshing. Their Bambu Special is my favorite. It has a coconut water base and comes with fresh coconut, pandan jelly, longan, basil seeds. It's a pretty light and guiltless dessert because it isn't decadent or anything and makes the perfect summertime treat. They have a lot of different concoctions to try but I tend to stick to the Bambu Special, Longan Sunrise or Bambu Favorite. I can't speak on behalf of their milk/fruit teas or smoothies because I usually stick to what they are known for - their chè.

Used sponge string, got food poisoning after this.. was wondering why and saw it after.

I wanted to give Bambu another chance before writing a review the last time.. however this is my second time within the last 6 months and horrible. Back in the summer when I went, the cup was really dirty on the outside and the spoon was super sticky as it were used. Brushed it off, and waited to drink it once I got home. Second time today I went, had a stomach ache right away. I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning from here. My dessert had a string of a sponge cleaner? Very unsanitary especially during Covid times. Shouldn't the food Buisness be extra precautious when handling food. NEVER again, rather go the other MANY local dessert shops.

I've been meaning to try this drink called Che It is the Vietnamese version which is cold and sweet. My first impressions were good, I like the taste but it's a bit too sweet for me. It has some little meaty things in it which some may think it's gross but it was a fun experience for me. Anyway, that's just my impression, I think it was worth the experience.

We went there on Sunday 2/7 and ordered many desserts home. Tuesday night I opened up 2 of those desserts and while I was stirring/mixing up the ice with the dessert, I saw something in the drink (it was black) my dessert was the #7 Taro lover so it should not have anything black in it. After couple minutes of searching, I found a 2 inches long hair in my drink. It was so disgusting! I reached out to them through the "Feedback" form on their website and now it has been a week, nobody reached out to me. I understand that it's a difficult time during the pandemic for the restaurant especially the small one, that was why I gave them time to reach back to me instead of me posting this issue on the social media, too bad they never did. I have the picture of the hair in the drink but I would not post it. I still have them 2 stars for the other desserts.

Decided to stop here on the whim with a friend. I got the taro coconut milk tea and my friend got the kumquat jasmine tea with lychee, basil seed, and prune. Overall, both drinks were sweet, a little too sweet for my liking. I think the coconut milk overpowered the taro flavor. The atmosphere though is very modern and the service was excellent. I would probably come here again and try a different drink.

I ordered a mangonada but I'm not sure what I was given.
    Cynthia S.

First and last time here. Since when do mangonadas have cream or whatever that extra ingredient is? I had sunglasses on when I picked it up so I didn't notice the colour. Had already driven off by the time I tasted it and was running late so I couldn't go back. DISGUSTING!!!!!

Their macarons are incredible. Recently moved to NH and have been trying to find macarons that I prefer; the creme is thick and the cookie part is soft and chewy. Great consistency and taste!!! Will be back for sure.

Drink was delicious and really cute for the area. Got lots of weird tea I never heard of but I'm sure they will taste good and excited to try them. The mango Mexican drink I got was really delicious as it was the first time I tried it. I've always wanted to and I'm glad I did. It was delicious. The cashier was also very nice too! Recommending me some drinks too but at the end I still choose what I wanted too

Every dish I've ever tried was flavorful, well-prepared, and clearly made with care. You can tell a lot of heart goes into the cooking here. On top of that, the staff is wonderful -- friendly and genuinely welcoming, which always makes us feel valued as guests. Unfortunately, I have to rate my current experience four out of five stars due to an issue that significantly impacted our meal. While we were eating, there were cockroaches crawling on the wall near us, which was extremely unsettling and completely tainted the experience. It made it very difficult to continue enjoying our food, despite how delicious it was. I say this with sincerity: if the restaurant can fully address the cleanliness concerns, including any cockroach or rodent issues, I truly believe this place can return to being a solid five-star restaurant. The food and the people are already there -- it just needs that final, crucial piece to match the quality of everything else.

I typically get their bun bo hue and it's good every time. Service is pretty quick and staff is always nice.

It was also, apparently, less salty, presumably for the same reason. The amount of kimchi in the "sample" was so plentiful as to almost fill up the mini cup we used for takeout. They have a large selection of vegetarian and vegan food, as well as some gluten free items, though they lack the staff and kitchen size to accommodate celiacs, so it's really more of use for people on elimination diets or with poor digestive capabilities. The owner had prior training in Italian cuisine, which is the reason such food is on the menu, and while neither my father nor I had occasion to try it, it is apparently a passion of the chef's, and the shared discussion of their mutual interest in Italian cooking may be the reason my father was given a free "sample" of kimchi, which was larger than the paid order of kimchi at most other restaurants. The food portions, in general, are massive, with the leftovers of an order of wonton soup not fitting in a to-go canister, with other orders being similarly large. Their jasmine tea is unusual for its slight fruity flavor, and ability to "overbrew" without becoming bitter, instead maintaining its delicate flavor. Each table has condiments, which in addition to including the "normal" chili crisp, and fish sauce often found at Asian restaurants that provide table condiments, have the more western pepper grinder, as well as garlic salt. Curiously, there is no "normal" salt as often found at western restaurants, though bottles of sriracha are found at every table. Perhaps the garlic salt and sriracha are the restaurant's "unique twist"?

Still excellent, still sweet (though now more noticeably spicy too), and still important to remind that the dishes here are not necessarily attempting authentic cuisine of specific regions (even though specific dishes are named), but more of a freestyle approach. The wings have improved in recent visits. More plump, more crisp, more juice, more flavor. Still good value. Still a little weak on the service (more about being young, unfocused and lacking initiative than anything approaching rudeness). Still highly recommended.

I just wish the broths were boiling beforehand because the table heats up pretty slowly. Aside from that, they have a really nice hotpot combo for $23.50 during dinner time and you can pick one broth, one carb, one protein, and it comes with a vegetable bouquet, so I think it's pretty affordable as long as you don't order any extras. It's individual hotpot so you don't have to share pots and worry about sharing. The mala broth is superb and I think it's so flavorful because they use pho broth as the base. It does get sweeter as it boils down, but I guess I kind of prefer that over regular hotpot that gets saltier over time. They have a nice sauce bar with a good variety and even have pickled onions and jalapeños. If you're looking for a spicy and zesty sauce you can try my usual combo of: garlic, chili peppers, barbecue sauce, cilantro, scallions, red vinegar, and squeeze two slices of lime. The meat quality is not bad. They have meat combo platters as well if you want to order more meat on the side. I tried the blue jolly expecting it to taste sour like a blue jolly rancher, but it was more sweet and too strong for my liking. I tried the lychee green tea and it was not bad, a subtle taste of lychee. Aside from that the place is pretty big and they also have a separate bar room that you can eat in as well since this place was a tavern/club. Anyways I'm going again for the 3rd day in a row!
