I haven't had the chance to check out the brick and mortar, but based on what I've tried from their food truck... I think I will have to drive up to Lowell! I had the trio of cheeseburger, crab Rangoon, and buffalo chicken-- paired very well with the sauces. My personal favorite was the crab Rangoon with the duck sauce. Perfectly savory and creamy and a unique blend of flavors. I was told that the pulled pork fries were prepared fresh this morning and that Mike hand pulled the pork himself. Friendly staff, easy ordering, though very small subset of the full offerings, with only 3 egg roll types available (the brick-and-mortar location has 16). These are smaller egg rolls, more along the lines of a Vietnamese egg roll or a mini version of a Chinese spring roll. Know going in that this isn't going to be something you'd get on an old school pupu platter. Also know that you gotta order in pairs that can't be mixed. So if getting two, it's two of the same kind. I found a trading buddy. Buffalo Chicken Egg Roll ($5 for 2): Soft, tender meat, a little dry, a little spicy. Served with a tiny container of blue cheese for dipping. Cheeseburger Egg Roll ($5 for 2): Soft, crumbly meat, good moisture, cheese melted in, good ratio of protein to shell. Served with a tiny container of ketchup for dipping. General Gau's Chicken ($16 for plate): Think McNuggets, with a similar size and flat shape, only higher quality. Moist. Batter not crisp at all, but when is it crisp even at a Chinese restaurant? Lacking in the sauce and flavor departments. More of a clear, thin glaze than a sauce, and needed more of it. Served with white rice and pickled cabbage. Solid portion. read more

This busy hole in the wall is a gem! I had no idea what to expect, let alone what to order. Luckily, the young man behind the counter took me under his wing and patiently answered my questions and offered suggestions. There were a few tables and comfy chairs along with merchandise along the opposite wall. I waited about 10 minutes for my order, which was surprisingly quick given all the students parading through the door. I ordered two traditional eggrolls and the Island Chicken Bento. Cutest little cafe in Lowell. To start- they have some gluten friendly items. I say that and not gluten free because they are cooked on the same area as items with wheat. They have at least 4-5 different options I can eat here and I haven't been triggered by their food, though everyone's gluten allergy/celiac is different. As someone that handles a service dog, I've always been able to go here and eat and feel very safe. I can't say that about most businesses but they are very good about keeping pets out. My boyfriend went to school around here and said this place was his favorite place to eat. We stopped by and I got his usual, and it was such a simple meal but it was so good. The food came out very fast and hot. The chicken katsu was crunchy and seasoned well and the rice was perfectly steamed. The meal overall was good and well portioned. The restaurant also had Vietnamese coffee, which was refreshing. There were lots of students around so it felt very chill. I can see why my bf loves this place! I haven't been to Eggroll Cafe since like 2018 and my husband wanted to try it again so bad, so we went. They had a cute display of merch items like insulated bags(?), shirts, plushies, etc. I noticed the Bossen poster on the window so I had an idea of what the boba tea would be like, as a former Bobarista myself. Our server was very kind and helped explain anything we needed help with. We got both the Raspberry fruit tea and slush, and I got the hot taro milk tea because it was chilly outside. We didn't get boba pearls tho, so I can't comment on the texture. The raspberry tasted just as I expected it to from my experience using the Bossen brand. It was candy like. The taro also brought back the nostalgic taste of sugary taro of the Bossen powder, contrary to what most boba shops use nowadays which is different brands that taste more "natural". It was nice, but I probably should've asked for less sugar. We got 3 orders of egg rolls, which if you're confused on how to order, each order you get comes with 2 egg rolls, and 1 flavor for each order. So we got the original pork, crab Rangoon, and chicken Basil flavors. The original was good, crab Rangoon was good, and chicken basil was also good with a lot of mozzarella cheese inside. It came with dipping sauce as well, but we wanted to try it as it was. It was good, but not good enough to spend $13 on. I also got the takoyaki and was really good, comparable to the taste of Bonchon and Teado's takoyaki. However, it make have been a little undercooked as I went to sleep and woke up with a stomachache. It's crazy to think that we've been going to Eggroll Cafe for 20 years. The bubble tea is my standard for all others places, and their eggrolls are outstanding. Having had tried 4 different eggrolls, my favorites from most the least would be the duck, cheeseburger, buffalo chicken, and crab rangoon. In addition to the eggrolls, we also got their mango tea as well as passionfruit tea with boba. The pearls must not have been fresh as they were more on the firm side but the fruit teas did the job. Adjusting sweetness and ice levels weren't advertised as with other boba shops so I didn't make my usual adjustments. Overall, we had a good experience in this laid back establishment with fun flavors and options to pick from. These egg rolls are delicious! I ordered a party platter on two separate occasions within the last month. The 4 flavors I chose were: buffalo chicken, pizza, crab Rangoon and spinach. The crab Rangoon were definitely a fan favorite and the spinach was the least favorite. The first time I placed an order the eggrolls were a bit soggy but still good. The second time on arrival I noticed they had the cover cocked to the side allowing the steam to escape. The eggrolls were so crispy this time! Service is quick and efficient. I did not get the chance to visit their location in Lowell but I tried their food when I visited the Night Market in Boston. The egg rolls featured in the image are cheeseburger, Buffalo, and crab Rangoon flavored. They came with their respective sauces like ketchup, ranch, and sweet and sour. Cheeseburger flavor was quite beefy and cheesy. Buffalo one kind of reminded me of kimchi since it had some spice. Crab Rangoon spring rolls just tasted like typical crab rangoons but it was not bad. Very cute local joint. Perfect for the college kids nearby. Had my first boba tea ever here last weekend. I mean, not my cup of tea, but my nephew sure loves it! I had a banana one which was good - its like banana milk. You have these weird chewy things at the bottom you suck up and eat. Extraordinary food. My wife and I visited regularly while she attended UMASS Lowell; it draws a large crowd from the university. The egg rolls are incredibly good - and the wide variety of egg rolls exceptionally creative. Their rangoons are among the best you can have, and their bowls are superb. Their boba drinks are exquisite too. Prices are good too. It's a small space, they're great about supporting local artists and display their work - every few weeks you get to experience different, tasteful decor. Eggroll opened a location in Warwick, Rhode Island at one point and we were delighted to run into it coincidentally - and to find staff from Lowell there too - the staff is super friendly. It's too bad the Warwick location isn't there anymore - we hope they expand beyond Lowell at some point again. read more

Been here several times. Gotta say parking can be rough if your parking right near the Eggroll Cafe, depends on the time. There's a large parking spot up the street about a 2 min walk if that. This is a lively place, workers are pleasant and hoppin n poppin while making there orders. I always get the coconut bubble tea and the Eggroll platter are awesome !!! Brilliant concept which originated as a food truck prior to becoming a brick and mortar spot. The atmosphere is casual and definitely leans towards students and a young adult audience, which is perfect for the area. Egg rolls are excellent. Best I've ever had and the selection is wild. We tried a bunch of them and they were all unique and great in their own way. The wrappers were crisp but not greasy. Their beverage selection, which includes a pretty great craft beer selection is unexpected but definitely welcome and their bubble tea is awesome. I got the korean spicy pork and the flavor had a curry consistency. The spice definitely builds and kinda overwhelms the flavor of the curry. If you really like spicy this is for you. i'm disheartened to say i'm giving this place a 1 star review. I ordered a 3 pack of eggrolls, I got the "cheeseburger," "Chicken basil", and samosa. First off, I wanted to say that the "cheeseburger" roll had no cheese in it. It was all hamburger meat. Tasted gross. Second off, I was hoping to enjoy the new chicken basil roll. There was absolutely no chicken in it. only a little bit of basil and an ungodly amount of mozzerella cheese. The only roll that was decent and still tasted the same as it should, was the samosa roll. I don't know what type of cooks they're hiring/ training but the owner is definetly not making sure the product comes out right. I suggest for him to break open all types of the eggrolls before selling. Because I seriously feel like I wasted $9 on the bad eggrolls. read more

As authentic as you can possibly get for Thai eggrolls. My wife said she could eat ton of the pork eggrolls and I could easily put down a good number of the cheeseburger eggrolls. Talk about eggrolls galore! The menu is not overly large but it has a decent selection of different types of eggrolls to choose from like the classic, buffalo, southwestern, chicken basil and several more. It seem like a decent place to eat, more appealing to the younger college crowds, if you manage to find parking on the street. But because they started placing the seats up to mop 2 hours before it was closing, we decided to just order our platter to-go. Peking Eggrolls- They ran out of the Classic so this was recommended to us. It has ground pork, mushrooms, carrots, bamboo shoots and vermicelli noodles. Easy to eat. Steak & Cheese Eggrolls- Steak, cheese, bell peppers, onions all stuffed into these eggrolls. Pretty good. Taco Eggrolls- These little suckers has an unexpected kick to it. Ground beef with bell peppers, onions, and cilantro with their own taco seasoning. Cheeseburger Eggrolls- Surprisingly, this was our favorite. It's just ground beef, onions and great ole American cheese. Overall Service: The sauce didn't really go with anything we've ordered. We got the ones labeled "pizza" = marinara sauce, "steak" = bbq sauce, "buffalo" = blue cheese, and "peking" = I think it's supposed to be fish sauce but it tasted like lemonade. So I wished they asked us what sauce we wanted instead of randomizing the sauces. Sweet chili sauce would have been preferable go with everything. Other than that, the staff was nice. read more
