Thinking that my normal person who prepares my taxes might be missing things, we decided to try this service out - based a bit on extremely good reviews from someone else we knew. The office was comfortable and the TV was on for us with remote to find something we wanted to watch. However, the wait was extremely short and we weren't able to finish watching anything - that's the GREAT part! Once inside her office we reviewed our documentation and she repeatedly kept saying that she would have really liked to see how the other person had done our federal tax returns. We told her we had looked for it, but could not find it. Again and again - she really wanted to see that and we told her we'd drop it off if we could find it. The next day - Sunday - EASTER Sunday we dropped a copy of our 2011 federal tax return off through the drop off slot and then proceeded to go back home. Maybe I have the date wrong - it could have been Saturday before Easter - who cares - not important really. Then on Monday or Tuesday - days before the deadline - I received a call from her. She wasn't comfortable doing our taxes because we had too many donations. Mind you - every single donation was fully and completely documented. However, she said unless we cut our donations in half - she wasn't going to do our taxes and if we cut our donations in half - we'd be paying over one thousand dollars. She was also charging us about $250.00 more then our previous tax lady! You know what I did - I picked my stuff back up and scheduled a time with the other lady. Thanked this woman for her time! I received my tax return the other day and actually tipped the lady who prepared my taxes $60.00 and was still $200.00 less then this woman who wanted to make donation adjustments. I think not! I think the woman that does my taxes is sharp and knows what she is doing - I think this woman is good for those that don't have donations or other complicated issues. Thanks, but no thanks! I gave this one two stars because at least she was quick to see us and said no a few days before the deadline instead of calling me on April 15th! read more

This credit union and the people in it have always treated me with respect and done their best to…read morefulfill my wishes. I have never had an issue with the way they've dealt with me or my money. Their rates, both for savings and for loans, are always competitive and often the best available to me anywhere. They are always running contests to reward members or raise money for charities or both, and there are special programs for younger savers and others who might have extra challenges keeping money in a bank. They have 3 offices now, so pretty accessible to county residents. I recommend Greater Chautauqua FCU over every commercial bank I have ever dealt with, and at least on par, if not better than, other credit unions I have had dealings with. They are a credit union with heart.

Though the entrance to getting into the credit union has changed a bit - it's right inside LSH and the staff make it easier to deal with, because they know you by your name - have your information memorized and can take care of any task in the most timely manner ever! Getting a car loan or any type of loan is by far the easiest I've ever done when I deal with Joanne - she's been there since we first became members and makes every transaction seem like nothing. I've been to other banks and credit unions and sometimes they just don't make you feel like they are happy to see you - this isn't the case at this branch and it hasn't been the case at SUNY Fredonia either. Sure there may be that occasional bad teller, but over the years - this place has always been my home town financial institution!

When your financial advisor tells you it's better to keep your money invested because the APR rates on financing a car is so low, he's absolutely right. It worked wonders when it came to being able to negotiate w/ slimy car dealers. Because why? Because none of them could beat SUNY Fredonia FCU's rates! Gotta love this place! All the employees' at the bank are always incredibly friendly and pleasant willing to help. This bank is an independent bank and probably the oldest bank, in New York State establish in 1882. In light, it's long, establish presence in Cattaraugus, NY the bank has evolved with modern banking. My personal opinion, the bank has a great outreach with the surrounding communities, thus, maintains great customer service.
