Totally separate entrance around the side and down the shabby stairs. They do nothing to enhance the ambiance down there, but if you take the time to sort through what they have you could find that surprise item that you can't find anywhere else for half the price or even less. But back upstairs, they have everything from vacation wear to formal wear. From every season, to outdoor sports, to accessories. If you like that New England look the MA Islands are so famous for, this is where you can find it. Most often when we come here we shop in both stores. Sometimes we climb back and forth trying to decide if we like the deal downstairs more than the full priced item upstairs. You should try it when in Vineyard Haven. Great way to waste time waiting for the Ferry!

One of our first port calls was in Newport, so after touring some of the historic homes in the area, finding shoes was job #1. I was warned by locals that there weren't many shoe stores in town and those that were around were $$$$. That was certainly my initial experience when looking at the touristy Bowen's Wharf area. Fortunately, I found Sole Desire and their clearance rack. Nice selection of shoes from a variety of quality brands and bingo, I actually found the perfect replacement sandals at 50% off. The employees were lovely and grabbed multiple options for me to try on and I was on my way.

They agreed to mail my purchases to me but took two weeks to mail them! These were Christmas gifts that I had to remail and I bought them before thanksgiving in order to avoid delays. I had to call to find out why the gifts hadn't arrived. Unacceptable. If you don't want to offer mailing, then don't do it. Employee said I wouldn't be charged for shipping because of the delay, but I was charged anyway! Hope that $24 is worth a bad review!
