I've driven by this shoe store for years. Today, I finally went in. From the exterior, the store gives off an old school vibe, one that hasn't been updated in quite some time, but it's the type of shoe store you went to as a kid, (those born in the 80's or prior) when the sales associate knew how to fit you to the proper shoe, they would size you first, then unlace, slip on and lace up the perfect shoe. As I walked in, I was greeted enthusiastically and provided with the best customer service. I felt like I just went back in time and I loved it. I was in the market for some new running sneakers. I walked out with 3 new pairs!! I could have gotten away with one, but the experience was so great, I decided to buy more. This used to be a good store. My family shopped there for years; even though the prices are more expensive we still supported St. Pierre's because it is a local family business. I originally stopped going because I was treated poorly several times by a staff member which was shocking because like I said, my family has been customers for years and we always have been polite. Today I attempted to go to St. Pierre Shoes one more time because my brother has a Shoe Club and wanted to look for boots, so I tagged along. I thought I would give them one more chance. I asked the older gentleman (owner) if he carried the Bob's I wanted in a certain size and was told "no". I asked if he would order the size I needed if I paid up front because I know they make the size since I wear Bob's frequently and have purchased them at different stores and online in this size. I definitely can get these shoes somewhere else but I wanted to give my business to this store because it is important to me to support small, local shops in my hometown (even if they are overpriced). Anyway, he said he would be stuck with the shoes if he ordered them and they were the wrong size (even though I said I would pay up front). He then said Bob's doesn't make the size I need although I had never actually told him the size I needed during our conversation. I pulled up the Bob's website in an attempt to show him that they DO make the size I need and was trying to explain to him that I purchase these shoes at other stores in this size and he just walked away with Mind you, this whole time I was polite and looking for ways to buy from his store to support a small business although, like I already mentioned, I could buy this shoe cheaper somewhere else. It's stupid, especially in this economy, to turn away customers who are basically trying to their throw money at you. If St. Pierre Shoes had treated me properly, I was prepared to purchase 8-10 pairs of shoes today to take with me to school. I would have paid the money up front for any that needed to be ordered. Now not only will I be purchasing my shoes elsewhere, my entire family will be closing their Shoe Clubs. St. Pierre's Shoes has the friendliest, most helpful staff of any shoe store I've ever visited. Their selection is phenomenal and they sell all manner of sports apparel too. Street parking can be tough, but shopping here is well worth the trouble. If you have children or if you're just by yourself, the employees truly care that you get exactly what you want. It's a family owned operation and the experience reflects this well. It's a welcome departure from the large scale conglomerates that employ small armies of underpaid, barely literate and blatantly indifferent teens. So you won't need to endure any yawping about fleeting, dysfunctional relationships here. Not sure what was going on when I went there yesterday. Was planning on buying 3 to 4 pairs of shoes. When I asked for children's sizes, the girl at the register and another woman in the store pointed to the area from halfway across the room. Yeah - thanks for your help. They don't have winter boots and it's almost the end of November. The shoes they had were very limited in sizes - maybe 2 or 3 and they weren't even close to the sizes we needed. Toddler size 6. It was after 5pm maybe everyone had a long day but the least helped I have felt in a retail store in a very long time. Went on the Stride Rite website this morning and ordered what I needed. I really have wanted to support local especially loosing MY own business because of COVID (and Amazon) I will not be going back. read more

BEST SHOE STORE AROUND. Hands down. No contest. Real customer service that YOU NEVER get anymore. Very friendly, very helpful, very knowledgeable. ENORMOUS shoe selection. It's hard to find women's work boots, but they had a bunch! From flats, sandals, party shoes, Uggs, Dansko, tons of Sperrys, cowboy boots... they have EVERYTHING. Prices are fair, may be a smidge over a chain store, but I'd rather pay them the extra $5 anyway--a local, family business deserves that $5 more than a mega chain. I looked everywhere for Uggs . My granddaughter wanted a certain pair and color ,I could not find them. my friend told me about ST Pierre shoe store.
