Recently, our dog had a cancerous growth removed. When we dropped her off, the Vet quoted $1050. I got a call from the Vet later in the day advising that the growth wasn't as big as the documentation described it, therefore it would cost less than the above Quote. Unfortunately, when my wife picked the dog up later that day, she was told the procedure would cost over $1500. Without a signed estimate, which Banfield should have provided to me at drop off, they simply refused to acknowledge the discrepancy between the earlier quote, plus the earlier phone call with the Vet. Without a signed quote at drop off there is nothing stopping them from jacking up the price and holding our dog hostage until we paid the much higher amount. I know medical procedures can uncover additional medical issues, but the phone call with the Vet proved this wasn't the case this time. They claimed I misheard the quote , but I had two teenage kids with me and both independently said the vet quoted $1050 when I asked if they remembered the quoted cost. Be careful with Banfield. Make sure, at the very least, to get a signed quote up front before any procedures. That's what their procedure is SUPPOSED to be, but they didn't follow their own established procedure and took advantage of us later for it. read more

A couple hours later I see in the app that they scheduled an apt that Monday without me confirming. Very unprofessional and unreliable. Because of this I canceled our insurance with Banfield. Dr. Bjornsen, Cori, and Morgan took amazing care of my pup when he was in for his dental. All the techs and almost all of the receptionists are sweet, caring, and helpful. Unfortunately, receptionist Joanna was very short and snappy and refused to help me; I had to wait about 10 minutes both at dropoff and pickup because she refused to check me in/out and ignored me/brushed me off completely. I had to wait for another receptionist to finish on the phone instead of being helped by a receptionist that didn't seem to be doing anything. I felt like I was being judged by my appearance or other factors especially since she seemed to be professional and pleasant to other clients. I'm very disheartened by this experience :( read more

I wish I could still recommend this vet but I can't. And if you love and care about your pet, DO NOT come here or to any Banfield. I brought my dog to this location on 9/29/2021. She has an upper respiratory infection and was prescribed an antibiotic. I was told to call them if it was not working. It was not, so I called, and was told that Doctor Leigh was not in and we would have to wait for the prescription to be changed. It would need to be compounded since my dog is so little. The other doctor available would not change the prescription because he has not seen her. I wait until Saturday, call back, still no script, still no call. Called back at noon and still no update. Compounding pharmacies need time to fill orders . It is Saturday 10/2/2021 at 4:01 and I have yet to get a call back. I am currently at VRCC emergency vet due to my dog having issues with her breathing. They don't give a crap about your pet. Hundreds of dollars later, this could have been prevented, not even a lousy call. I hate this place and can't wait to cancel my wellness plan. Don't be a sucker and sign up. I had to bring in my cat (the one which I picked up with pee all over it last time) because he was sneezing and snotting everywhere after a recent stay in the wilderness. The vet here recommended that I do like $600 worth of procedures, all because my cat had a cold. This isn't the first place that I've been to that has tried to push x-rays on me when all I needed was a vaccination or a couple of pills for my animal. Needless to say, I was not very happy. They didn't make me feel like it was an option to only pay for the pills at all; they made me feel like a bad kitty mama for not doing their battery of evaluations. I won't be bringing my animals back here if I can help it. The only reason I went back in the first place was because I didn't remember how bad things were the last time I dropped my cat off and the convenience. Next time I will remember to bring him someplace else. read more

I am a little less excited about this place than others. I have been to a couple Banfields over the years and they are cost effective places to take you pets. Their plans make things easy to get your pets all squared away with shots and check ups, which is nice. I guess my problem with this one is with the staff. I must get there on the competent peoples day off, because I have been less than impressed. First off, when dropping off the dogs for an early appointment they have a buzzer outside (since PetSmart doesn't open at 7a). They have NEVER EVER answered it or opened the door for me. I always end up prying the doors open and walking in to find workers just standing around. OK, how is that helpful? I have been in there when others buzz, so it works, they just ignore it! Then when it is time to check out it takes forever! Really, I have been the only one at the counter and stood there 30 minutes. Its crazy to me. Then there is the fact that the vets kind of seem well, I will go with new. I know they have told us a couple things that were just out right wrong and so it has left me feeling ify about the place. Not to mention they seem to "suggest" all kinds of pricey extra things outside the plan. Oh and they don't cover all shots, so we learned. Our kennel had a list and they needed to be boarded and we had to shell out more $$ to get all of them. What is the point of the plan? Here is the thing. The dogs are all healthy and up to date on shots for a reasonable price so I suppose they are OK, but they really leave me feeling like they are not the best at their jobs. I have gone to the Park Meadows Banfield and felt perfectly at ease, this one not so much. My husband has had a good experience here, so I am hestitant to give them below 3 stars. I like this Banfield. The staff genuinely seem to care about your dogs. The veterinarians here are excellent. I have been taking my dogs here for their wellness plan the last couple of years. Prior to that, I went to the location at Chambers and Parker Road (which has Dr. Starman, who is awesome). I know these are good vets, because they do a good job of keeping my dogs healthy, and when one of my dogs had his throat almost ripped out by another dog, they did an amazing job of saving his life and patching him up. Yes, this place can be busy and you may have to wait a while during pick up and drop off. Yes, I believe the front office staff are required to try to upsell certain products and services. But, overall, I have been very happy with how they take care of my dogs. read more

This review is being placed after my experience with the Banfield in Parker, Colorado. That vet clinic and all Banfield clinics are a scam. You will be over charged unless you sign up for the pet wellness plan. Once signed up you'll be charged and automatically renewed into the subscription BUT if you actually try to use the clinic for a wellness comprehensive exam the clinic will cancel your appointment 5 days before the actual exam without leaving a request to confirm. I was left a voice mail telling me the appointment is cancelled, when I called back, the appointment was no longer available because "online appointments get canceled if they aren't confirmed". 5 days before the appointment without the opportunity to confirm.... Once that happened to me I tried to cancel the subscription since it's clearly a scam and they don't actually want you to use the plan you pay for. The clinic doesn't cancel the plan, even though they high pressure you to sign up. I called the corporate office to cancel and that was a very unpleasant experience too. DO NOT use Banfield, you'll regret it. read more

Absolutely awful. I scheduled an appt. A week ago to get my dog updated on her vaccinations. A day ago I got an automated call asking me to confirm which I did. So today I went in with her and was told I had no appt. scheduled for today or at all. Being my dog is a new patient I wanted to use the new patient discount offered and was then told I can't use that either, no explanation. I don't even know where to begin as there is so many reasons as to why you should not bring ANY of your animals to ANY Banfield location EVER! If I could give zero stars I would! They charge you for every little thing including teaching you how to clip your pets nails! Then they immediately try to shove their insurance plans down your throat. And to top it all off, your animal receives the poorest care possible. I brought my cat Mel to this location as a kitten for his routine check ups, exams vaccines, etc. sadly all I can say now is what a mistake it was. Everything seemed OK the first time we took him there, but on his second visit they tested him for feline leukemia, and the test came back false positive twice. Therefore your vet told me that my cat had feline leukemia, And that it was mostly harmless and may shorten my cats lifespan by a year or two. If your vets have just been more attentive to my cat and what was going on with him they would've known it was not feline leukemia. Their cruel mistakes cost my cat to lose his eyesight, hearing, and eventually his life. Near the end of his life, I ended up taking him to a different veterinarian who eventually got to the bottom of what was going on: my cat had a lethal disease known as feline infectious peritonitis or FIP. Furthermore, they claim to know how to take care of exotic and small animals as well such as hamsters. I took my hamster there for what looked to me like a tumor on his face. They told me all it was was a clogged food pocket in his cheek, that hamster ended up dying a couple weeks later. So in conclusion, the veterinarians at Banfield are a bunch of unqualified vet students at best, and I would never recommend anybody bring their pets here for vet treatment. read more

I adopted my kitty from this PetSmart and started him on the Wellness Plan at Banfield 3 years ago. I am very happy with his treatment overall; he gets vaccines and testing every six months with a comprehensive exam. When we adopted him, he was having issues with spraying (with blood in his urine). They quickly got him assessed, and put him on a supplement to help strengthen his bladder wall. We haven't had any issues since putting him on it. They are also very accommodating with trying to get your appointment finished quickly. I was worried about getting to work on time with my appointment on the same day, but they worked with me getting him seen within a couple hours. read more

Definitely like the other reviewers said. They try to over charge you for everything! So on the Crestline location in littleton was where I took my dog for 6 years but we just moved to Parker. We have Banfield insurance, and I loved it until now. This Parker location just doesn't seem as caring and not very helpful. They seem to be more in the business of $$$ getting as much out of you as possible...Trying to up charge you even though you have insurance. I'm debating if I want to cancel banfield and just take him to a private vet or drive to a further location. I had never had to pay for a drop off fee before whether it was preventative, annual checks, random drop ins. It is and always has been free at other locations. Especially if it's an emergency and they don't have time to see your pet right away, they want you to drop him off to do testing and pick him up later. Their excuse is that it's not an annual exam so there's a drop off fee of 30 bucks... uh why do I pay monthly for insurance??? On another note even before this event occurred I have taken my dog here twice for exams and they just don't seem very thorough. I question a lot of things and get vague answers... Like he had a hot spot is what I found online and got a spray thing that works... But before that I took him into the vet because he kept licking his leg raw, what the vet told me to do which was just get a cone, like really you don't have numbing or soothing ointment I can give him? I came home in November after leaving my Husky alone for two hours to see that his eye was very red and this yellow fluid kept coming out of it. We got him neutered in June at a place up North (they do it by income, if I can remember the name I'll post a review there) and hadn't gotten around to finding him a vet in Parker yet. I called around to all the vets in Parker and they all needed an initial meet and greet visit ($40-$70), then the visit for his eye ($30-$50) then the tests for his eye and the medicine. Also, they couldn't get him in until Monday...this was Friday. I finally called Banfield. I had never heard of this place and was ecstatic when I heard that it was in PetSmart and they could get him in within a half hour. Not to mention that they would just charge me for the reason they were seeing him...no meet and great appointment necessary. They told me about everything they were going to do for him and showed me how much it would be before I agreed to it, which I really liked. This is the WORST place to take your pet. I've had multiple negative experiences here but today I'm so mad I have to write about it. My dog had a drop-off appointment at 9:30 this morning for a comprehensive exam. I dropped her off at 9:30. It's now 2:30 and I haven't heard a word from them. So I call. They tell me "oh the doctor was in surgery this morning so he's just now getting to the pets. It'll still be another hour and a half." I'm sorry but what in the world is the point of scheduling an appointment if this is the outcome? And why didn't they call to update me about the time problem? This is just ridiculous. We brought our puppy in for his first vaccines and we were talking with the receptionist (Jesse) about a puppy plan. We told her that we didn't want to do the neuter at that clinic and but we were ok doing the shots with them for now. Then before we knew it after our conversation, the doctor and practice manager were coming out asking us to apologize because she claimed we were rude and video taping her. Prepare to get ripped off!! Here is how this place operates, get you through the door then rack up charges like there is no tomorrow. Here is my story: I was new to the area and needed to get rabies shots for my dog. Our appointment was for 1:00 p.m. but we did not get in to see the veterinarian until nearly 2:00. Since this was our first time to Banfield our office visit fee was supposed to be free. We got the desired shots for our dog but had to endure endless barrage of other items they tried to "upscale" us on. One of the scams they try to sell you on is their monthly plan of $30 that will cover your dog for all visits. That is $360 a year but when you read the fine print that only covers normal exams. Do the math; you are now paying $360 for what would normally cost $90-100 at reputable veterinary clinics. After a "used car salesman" attack we finally were able to conclude out visit for $80. Being that our dog was one week late on her shots we were advised we needed to come back in two weeks for a "booster shot". Yup.... You guessed it; here is where they are going to get you. We came back two weeks later. We were advised the Vet. needed to do a full exam as this is their policy (remember the "free" exam... not so free anymore). After looking in our dogs ears and moving her legs around we were charged $35 for a "office exam fee". At the conclusion of this visit we were charged another $80. In the end we paid $160 for rabies shots; these are the one year rabies shots. Called another vet after getting fleeced by Banfield and they advised annual shots including an office visit shout of cost between $90-100. So if you are looking to pay 60% above what other Vet's charge Banfield is the place to go. As we were getting ready to leave we see this poor woman with a sick dog sitting on a bench being talked to by a Vet. Tech., in the words of the Vet. Tech. "We are probably going to have to run a lot of tests to determine what is wrong with your dog but that may not tell us anything." I wanted to tell the woman to run away but did not have the heart. I will NEVER go back! I took both my dogs for a well exam and to get their shots. The staff wanted to spend more time trying to sell me their insurance plans than talk about my dogs and what my concerns are. The vet didn't come into the exam room and introduce himself to me, instead they took my already nervous dogs to the back room where I couldn't be and did their stuff there. When the vet did come in the room with my dogs, he was rude and NOT warming at all!! I asked about the rash on my dogs stomach and ears and he rudely said it was probably a food allergy and then left as if I was interrupting his day. After weeks of my dogs rash not getting better and using the EXPENSIVE spray they sold me, I took her to a different vet, that I really like, and found out it was a yeast infection that needed an antibiotic! If you love your pet and want them to get quality care, then DONT take them to Banfield!!!! read more

If you love your pet, DO NOT take them here. I have been to the BanfieldPark Meadows location two times, and both were horrible experiences. That is the last time I will set foot in that building. I will not be taking my cat there for veterinary care. I will not be buying litter or toys there, I will not even go in for an .89 cent can of food. The staff is inept, abhorrent, even. From the receptionist to the vet tech to the veterinarian, they all provided conflicting information. My cat was neglected and left in her carrier for six hours, not a cage, her small carrier used solely for transportation purposes. I went and picked her up before she even received her exam due to their blatant disrespect of me and my animal. They didn't even notice I took my pet and left, in tears. They still placed their next day call as if nothing had happened. In fact, nothing did happen, my cat did not get examined and they had failed to even mark her file. This location gives all of Banfield a bad name. They should be genuinely ashamed and embarrassed. Just don't go here, trust me. The following day after this catastrophic visit to Banfield, I went to Chipotle for lunch. The high school kid making near minimum wage cared more about making my burrito than Banfield did about my cat. He was polite, attentive, and knew the meaning of quality customer service. I believe customer service starts at the top, with Management, and trickles down. Clearly Banfield has a lot of room for improvement. read more

I paid for their wellness program for two years for two dogs PLUS each visit in cash..never left a penny balance, never missed a "plan" payment for two years...Not only did they charge for unneeded meds and testings, but after my contract was over, they sent me to collections for months I did not agree to or sign for...after the two years were up and all paid for. My dog is still sick and all of the things they said he had, and all the expensive medications, special shampoos and dog foods, he's still in pain. One time they told me my dog swallowed a stick and I paid $400 to leave him over night for possible surgery, and it turned out to be GAS! I brought my cat and was told she was going to need numerous teeth pulled costing thousands of dollars. Went into another vet for a second opinion and within seconds the new vet told me that she had cancer of the mouth and that pulling her teeth would have been a waste of time. Where to begin, I have been taking my dogs here for a little over a year and well into the thousand's in revenue for this place: -Was prescribed some very expensive allergy medicine for my little dog $60 for a week. Got it home and found that it was expired. Banfield slapped their own label on it to "extend" the date. -Was prescribed the same meds for a month, only the Vet wanted me to OD my little dog by giving him twice the dose in one sitting because they didn't have the right meds there. YES...this is really true. I had them call in the prescription to 1-800-petmeds. -Banfield sends "coupons" in the mail only when you want to use those coupons they scold and belittle you. Last visit was almost $400 and they would not allow the coupon, then they came back and said they would give me credit, still waiting for that credit. -Very rude staff at the front desk, you never know what you are going to get. -Apparently overbook appointments, I have never been "in and out". I have waited up to two hours. Last visit ($400), I don't believe that they even performed all the work they charged me for because I had to leave my little guy off. Needless to say I finally escalated my concerns and that was TOTALLY useless. About all they did was read back to me the coupons I have used. I will never go back to a Banfield...EVER. In fact, I also notified PetSmart of this and so far, no word from them. I am sure this is a very nice contract for PetSmart. Mars Inc. owns Banfield and when I wanted to speak to the CEO of Mars Inc regarding the fraudulent and illegal practice of putting a different label on expired meds I was told "He does not have anything to do with that". NEVER take your loved animals to ANY Banfield! I took my healthy little 5 year old Chihuahua there for a regular dental cleaning and within seconds of me giving them the "ok" to extract one tooth they killed my dog. Dr Lauren Alderholdt was the responsible veterinarian. They used propafil as the sedative. The same anesthesia drug that killed Joan Rivers and Michael Jackson, some vets prefer as the animals go under quicker and supposedly come out quicker for time management. The problem is that this drug is deadly when not monitored properly. The Vets at Banfield are not experienced as most of them are just out of Veterinarian school. read more

Please, if you love your animals, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!!! I got a plan for my one-year old Papillion mix on 9/4/2013 and he had a quick physical and heart worm shot. He was neutered on 11/6/2013. I was contacted repeatedly in 2/2014 by the Parker Banfield office that I needed to bring my dog in for his annual exam (in order to maintain the Wellness Plan). My dog was scheduled for a well exam on 2/24/2014. I was told that he needed to be there at 7:00AM. I questioned why? If this was just a well exam (examination and blood drawn) why did he need to be dropped off and left there all day? I was told it was their office's procedures. I brought him at 7:00AM, as instructed. Upon drop-off I was told that I could come pick him up after 6:00PM. I again questioned this and was told it was their office's procedures. I told them to have him done as soon as possible because I did not see the need for him to be there for 11 hours. And I kept questioning why I couldn't be in the room for the exam. I was repeatedly told that it was their office's procedures. I received a call that my dog was ready to be picked up and I arrived at 4:30P. The person at the front desk told me it would be just a minute because he is still coming out of his anesthesia. ANESTHESIA!? I was NEVER informed, I had zero knowledge of, and I NEVER gave my consent for my dog to be put under anesthesia. The receptionist saw my shock and immediately offered for me to talk to the Veterinarian. She had me wait at the front desk. Another young lady brought my dog out (who was completely disoriented, had a bandage on his foot) and said have a nice day. I said NO, I need to speak to someone about what you people did to my dog. He was supposed to be here for an annual exam and blood work. Why was he put under anesthesia!? Both ladies went to look for a Veterinarian. Dr. Steven Lisano came to the front desk. He handed me blood work results and stated that my dog's blood work was very abnormal and he needed to be brought back for further testing and procedures. I repeatedly asked Dr. Lisano why he put my dog under anesthesia and he would never give me an answer; he kept telling me that my dog is very ill and needs to be placed under Banfield's care for further testing and procedures. I told Dr. Lisano that I would take my dog for a second opinion because my dog is a healthy, happy little boy. Dr. Lisano did not like that I refused his advice and told me I was a bad pet owner if I didn't get him treated immediately. I demanded to know why my dog was placed under anesthesia and Dr. Lisano said "sometimes it's necessary" and walked away. I presented my dog's blood work to two separate Veterinarians (not associated with Banfield) and both Veterinarians told me there is nothing abnormal with my dog's blood work. He is a healthy young dog. Neither Veterinarian could tell me why Banfield and Dr. Lisano placed my dog under anesthesia for a well exam and blood work; it didn't make any sense to them. I contacted Banfield and spoke with Shandra on 3/3/2014. She apologized for my experience and let me know that I had to complete the year's Wellness Plan (to avoid any additional out-of-pocket expenses due to the neuter and well exam that had taken place during the course of the plan). I understood and told her I would continue to pay for the plan. She told me that the last payment would be taken out of my account on 8/12/2014 and to call her back then to ensure final payment was received/made and to request my plan NOT RENEW. Shandra was exceptional and so helpful. On 8/12/2014, I contacted Banfield and spoke to Shandra. I let her know that the final payment had been taken out of my account, she verified payment was received. I requested that the plan to NOT RENEW. She stated it was set-up to NOT RENEW. I thanked her for her help, she apologized for my troubles and that was that. On 9/15/2014, my checking account was charged $31.95 by Banfield. I contacted Banfield; they apologized and said that I would receive the credit on the next billing cycle (by 10/15/2014). 10/18/14, I still have no resolution. Banfield won't cancel the plan or honor the NOT RENEW as instructed. I still do not have my credit. I was told the only recourse I have is to contact Corporate which I have done several times. I am extremely disappointed in Banfield and the staff at Banfield should be ashamed of themselves; charging people for services not needed, performing unauthorized procedures, and lying about blood work to get more money out of me. Unethical and terrible people. Update: 10/18/14, after I complained today, Banfield fraudulently charged my card $52! I don't think this battle will ever end. read more

Before I begin, please note that I have both of my dogs on the Bandfield plan. While out here visiting I called in for an emergency visit. I found a large lump on my dog after noticing she had been acting extremely lethargic and not herself. They wouldn't take two seconds out of their day to just take a glance at it. I live out in Nashville and the Banfield out there is leaps and bounds above this place! Anytime I've had any concerns about either of my dogs they have found a way to take a look at them that day. This one in Parker acted like they could care less about the well-being of my dog. The vet refused to even take a glance at her even if it would've taken two minutes because she was "too busy". The WORST customer service I have dealt with in any industry. The staff and office manager Dennis are the definition of people you would not want to trust with your time or money. They truly do not have any remorse for their mistakes and do not know how to own up to them or make things right. Take your pets with your money and time to a vet and establishment that gives a darn about their customers. Go local and not to banfield where you are just a number and all they care about are their quotas. I was given the wrong address to their location and went to a location 20 minutes away. When I finally got the number to the correct location I was turned away and told by Dennis the office manager, "Sir, my employees know our address maybe it was you that didn't get it right." Why would I drive 20 minutes out of the way to miss an appointment? Dennis then went on to say that he would not take responsibility and that I should take my business elsewhere. I implore any of you reading this to do what Dennis told me and to find better care and customer service at another hospital or vet. read more

I love this place. They're friendly, warm and caring, not only to the pets, but to their owners as well. Often vet offices are staffed by people who are, I don't know, disenchanted by humanity, resulting in disrespect and poor customer service. But not here! I've talked to the receptionists, I've talked to the techs, I've talked to the doctors--all are wonderfully warm and welcoming. I really don't know what anyone who gave this place less than four stars is talking about. read more

We have a puppy on the wellness plan, and we've only been able to use this location once for his first wellness visit. Trying to get a timely appointment for anything more urgent is very difficult. When his eye was swollen on a Monday they told me they could not see him until Friday. So I took him to Park Meadows where they could see him the same day and gave him excellent care. When it was time to schedule his neuter I was told they were booked 6 weeks out, so I called the Park Meadows location and they were able to get him scheduled within 2 weeks in the time window I needed. If all you need here is your scheduled yearly exam, than this location would work fine, but for us this location seems like they are never available when we need them for anything else. They are either very busy or overbooked. read more

I just took kitty to another veterinarian and would like to share the following: The vet told me that my cat has no other teeth than the tooth that needs to be removed and therefore could not in good conscience charge me for a dental workup. Petsmart wanted to charge me $200 right off the bat for dental (this vet charges $119) and when I asked about just having the tooth extracted and not the dental, Petsmart told me they don't do that because the anesthetic and whatever were way more expensive separately than just doing a dental. The vet today (which by the way, has excellent reviews) was able to do the extraction separate. Also, Petsmart missed the fact that my cat had a root of a tooth he broke off sticking in his gum which was not only infected but causing bleeding. Because this vet saw the pain my cat was in, he arranged it so that my cat could get the surgery needed today, so he didn't have to suffer. They're going to be sending home antibiotics as well. All this for a little over $200. The least Banfield could have done on my initial appointment was send home some antibiotics for the massive infection. They tried charging me over $500 for this procedure, and this vet today is even digging up the broken tooth for $300 less. I will never deal with Banfield again and I will never recommend them. read more

DON'T TAKE YOUR BELOVED PETS HERE! We started taking our pets here about 3 years ago. We were impressed with their ability to fit in our injured dog for a last minute appointment and they gave us many treatment options from inexpensive (wait and see) to all the bells and whistles. They cared about the dog's care and our pocketbook. Obviously, things have changed and they don't care about treating the animals as much as REQUIRING unnecessary tests for simple diagnosis such as $10 antibiotics for pink eye or a med recheck for a diagnosed thyroid condition which they diagnosed the previous year without the now "required" expensive test. I understand that sometimes tests need to be run for a tricky diagnosis but a healthy pet displaying unmistakably classic symptoms should only need the ridiculously expensive tests if the standard treatments fail to cure the ailment. Save your money, avoid a headache, and, most importantly, take your pet to a veterinary office that's most important interest is their welfare! read more
