After my experience at VCA Southeast Area on Iliff, (i did leave a review for them as well). Seven Hills was a breath of fresh air and exactly what would be expected of an animal care facility. Each person from the counter to the exam room were friendly and even though it was their day-to-day job, still talked with an empathetic tone. Dr Westberry was oh my goodness amazing. We were seen immediately due to the circumstances and the condition my dog was in. She sat on the floor and talked with my dog and us for about an hour. Going over the care, options, possibilities and treatments. Never felt forced to go in one direction or the other and never felt like it was about the money. Always felt like it was about the best quality of life for my dog. Now this is the kind of place i would spend money at just because of how my dog was treated and how i was treated. Thank you, Dr Westberry and the rest of the staff, for all that you did. We tried our best but unfortunately it didn't work. You took good care of my bubby and that's all that matters. Thank you. This review should have been posted at the time it occurred, however it was a depressing time and then the pandemic also had its impact. But originally, my most recent experience was March thru August of 2020 with Seven Hills Vet. We were acquainted with Seven Hills Vet at one of the hardest times of pet life, during the end of the losing battle in caring for a canine companion with a lifelong genetic disease. During the heart of mask-up era, my service Akita (seizure alert dog) who was genetically disabled with Addisons Hormone Deficiency Disorder, we began treatment at seven hills vet early 2020. Beginning in March, my majestic goofy Akita had several episodes that threatened her life. Seven Hills was there each time. Twice she stayed overnight, 24hour monitoring and medications thru IV, each time her daily medications were slightly adjusted to better control her disorder. In August, her last episode, they told us the heartbreaking news that her vital organs were all shutting down. Her disease finally caught up with her and took over. There were no more life saving treatments available and nothing they could offer but comfort services for end of life. So we took her home to say goodbye to her family & to have her favorites one last time. Then I took her back to Seven Hills to give her peace and comfort in the final moments. They didn't rush me. They allowed me to stay there with her long after she took her final breath. They offered kind but silent support and sympathy. Prior to her passing they explained the process and how everything would happen. Her cremation was including in the end of life services. Within one week, they contacted me to pick up her urn. They delivered it in a small bag. They included a sympathy card that was hand signed by the staff and had a an actual personal note from the veterinarian doctor that treated her. It also had a cast of her paw print with her name cast into the plaster as well. The last two things included with my Akita's ashes/urn were not an advertised service offered that I saw. It was a small gesture that meant so much to our family. The compassion that was shown was more than veterinary medicine for pets. For that I'm grateful, even though this was one of the biggest sorrows our family has been hit with. read more

I have been meaning to write this review since February!! So here it goes.......my dog had a weird bump on her skin(she is a 7 year old Golden retriever). I thought it was a tick or some kind of weird bug in her and my normal vet was booked so I brought my dog here. They got me in very quick which was nice but that doesn't matter after everything else. They finished the appointment and told me my dog had a skin infection and they would prescribe antibiotics, I was fine with that. I read the directions very clearly and thought it was strange but followed the directions and gave my dog the pills. After 15 minutes my dog was pooping and barfing all over my house and looked like she was going to die. I looked up the meds and found out they overdosed her!!! I called them to verify everything and they omitted to me that they made a mistake on the dosage and I can resume the right amount the following day or just use over the counter cream on the bump. I decided to skip the meds and let it hopefully heal on its own. Well fast forward to the last few weeks I brought my dog into her normal vet for her yearly shots and etc and brought up the bump and showed the Dr and she wanted to remove it and send it for a biopsy. Low and behold the biopsy came back last Thursday as malignant melanoma!!! We are currently doing different tests but this cancer spreads and spreads fast!! If I listened to this vet my dog would eventually die from the aggressiveness of this cancer and I would not have been able to do anything!!! Luckily I didn't wait too long but if I would have dealt with it like I tried to in February my dog would be in even better shape. I'm extremely upset about the negligence of this vet. I think they could use some more schooling. I wasn't going to write this review originally because they did give me money back for the visit-it wasn't much anyways but that's not the point. 9/5/24-Been going to this place for years and it keeps getting worse. A nail cut is supposed to be around $20. We took our dog in today and got charged $40 and change, they said they now add a tech fee and that they have been adding this fee since February. This was a total lie since we had the same thing done in August for the $20 with no add fee. This place lies and upcharges you. They do full nail service and ear cleaning at PetCo for only go bucks. When it was time today goodbye to our doozie, Max, Seven Hills was super professional and compassionate. During the process, they had it down to an art while being acutely aware of the sensitivity of the situation and made us feel like he was super important to them. I have to say the experience varies depending on who the veterinarian is and who is at the front desk. Some are friendlier and more communicative. Some vets are laid back and some are more uptight. I did just have a good experience with the vet who did my senior cat's dental, had to pull out some teeth and roots. She was helpful in addressing my questions and concerns and put me at ease. Helpful too was the laid back vet who didn't insist on having to get new bloodwork when the 'old' was only at two months instead of one, although they did do additional kidney bloodwork before the procedure as my cat has mild kidney disease. Yes it's expensive although I have no idea how it compares to the same work done elsewhere. I've called around before to compare specific procedures and what I found was some were far cheaper for some things and more expensive for others. I had the peace of mind of having this done in a place that could care for my cat should something go wrong, since they do emergency care which regular vets cannot. read more

My review is from a few years ago. I thought that I posted but I think I was too heartbroken to post. Our beautiful Yellow Lab/Akita mix, Boo, had suddenly started peeing blood one evening after 7:00 p.m.. I was so shocked and my regular vet (Homestead) was closed, but they recommended Seven Hills on their recording. I took Boo there. Now Boo was overweight, but on diet dog food and the green bean diet. He was very sweet and a big dog anyway, and loved everyone! But when the vet came into the exam room he started trembling and peed on the floor. He had never done that at the vets before when we went to Homestead. I was shocked, but tried to answer the Vets' questions. The first thing she said was that he was overweight and needed to be on a diet. I didn't care about that, I wanted to know why he was peeing blood and if he was dying! If he was in pain! I hate to sound dramatic but it was a shocking thing, his urine was all blood! She seemed dismissive of what I was trying to tell her and as he was continuing to shake and was terribly scared, and she was doing nothing to help him or put him at ease, I stood up and said I'm going to take him somewhere else. I told the girl at the desk that the vet was not kind with him and I was going somewhere else. I took him to Homestead the next day and it turned out that he had prostate cancer. But with antibiotics and Essiac, which slows down cancer in some cases, Boo lived seven months longer happily. When he wasn't enjoying life any longer he went over the Rainbow Bridge. He was a wonderful boy and did not deserve to be scared or mistreated. New dogs should be terrified when they are at the Vets. The vet should go out of their way to make sure that they tried to bond with the animals that come to see them. Animals can tell, they can sense anxiety or anger or people who don't care. I wish I could remember the name of the vet but she was not a nice person. read more

DO NOT USE SEVEN HILLS IF YOU REALLY LOVE YOUR BEST FRIEND AND WANT TO ENSURE YOU GET GOOD CARE!!!!! If I could have, I wouldn't have given any stars, but you have to select at least one to post the review. I have used Seven Hills for a few years mainly because they are close and when my dog had leg issues, from a surgery performed by another vet clinic, they seemed very thorough in explaining why the previous surgery failed and that there was a better option known as TPLO. Of course much more expensive, but I was ok with that if it was better for my pet. I complained many times over the next couple years about the service there and came to the realization that they were just about the money. It seemed like every time I went in they wanted to do x-rays and/or blood work. Even when those had just been done a couple months earlier. Keep in mind, my boy was going in each time for the same thing, issues related to the knee surgery, arthritis and elevated kidney levels as a result of a pain killer they had him on for his arthritis. There are a couple vets that seem to care, but the fact that you get a different one each time results in lost communication and contradictory information. At 14 years old I had Huckleberry checked out when he was having some difficulty keeping his balance and a vet at 7Hills told me Huckleberry could potentially have a brain tumor, and I was referred to a specialist. The specialist indicated that Huckleberry seemed to be suffering from doggie dementia. Fast forward about a year when Huckleberry was 15 years old. Huckleberry was having issues with a open soar on his knee that had the TPLO surgery. They indicated that the knee was infected and he needed surgery to remove the plate. I was very skeptical of doing surgery on a 15-year old dog with dementia, but they insisted it was ok and said it was a very simple surgery to remove the plate. I put it off for a couple months and then went with their recommendation to do the surgery. HUCKLEBERRY WAS NEVER THE SAME!!! He was standing up and walking fine before the surgery ,but afterwards could not stand up, was having difficulty sleeping at night and wouldn't eat. Dr. Butler, who performed the surgery, said during a postop call that he had some difficulty removing one of the screws and said, "Hopefully I didn't create any other damage trying to get the plate out." Not something you want to hear the surgeon say. During Huckleberry's postop appointment to remove the staples, I was asking Dr. Butler a number of questions about the difficulty Huckleberry was having. Dr. Butler seemed uninterested and responded saying, "Well, he is living on borrowed time." During that appointment I asked Dr. Butler if they could have tested the fluid coming from Huckleberry's knee prior to surgery and had it cultured to see what type of infection it was, and he said yes they could have. Knowing he was over 15 years old and suffering from doggie dementia, why in the world wouldn't they take that approach first and see about treating the infection with anti-biotics, especially if they thought he was on "borrowed time." My conclusion was obvious and what I had been feeling for a couple years, THEY ARE ALL ABOUT MONEY, MONEY, MONEY. And then Dr. Butler referred me back to a specialist. The specialist indicated that the surgery likely exacerbated the dementia causing some of the problems Huckleberry was experiencing. Two and a half months after the surgery, Huckleberry was struggling and I had to do a consult with a vet from Caring Pathways who indicated the best thing for Huckleberry at that point was end of life and so I had to make the most heartbreaking decision of my life to euthanize Huckleberry. I'm convinced still today, four months after making that decision, that Huckleberry would have had a much better ending to his life without that surgery to remove the plate from his knee. A decision made because the 7 Hills vets insisted he needed the surgery. No doubt in my mind he would have lived longer than 2 1/2 months and had a better quality of life in those months if we hadn't done the surgery. I'll live the rest of my life regretting following their recommendation. read more

I have been bringing my dogs here for a couple of years. They said my dog needed TPLO surgery, which went well but she never really seemed to be free from any pain. We did everything they recommended, including physical therapy. After several visits and different pain medicines they finally threw their hands up because they could not figure out why my dog was screaming in pain 5 months after the surgery. They referred me to a neurologist who wanted to do an MRI for $3500, no guarantee that they would be able to diagnose anything. Found another veterinarian and after 2 exams, one of which they didn't charge for because a different vet wanted to examine my dog. She had taken the time to look at my pets history and correctly diagnosed her with an autoimmune disease. A lab confirmed diagnosis with a joint tap. An MRI would not have found this. My dog ended up being hospitalized for 2 nights, and after a couple of days of treatment, she is no longer in any pain. Will not be taking my dogs here ever again. read more

This place is awesome! They've worked hard on trying to figure out what's going on with my grandpup Meadow. It's refreshing to hear that sometimes you just don't know , but are still trying to figure it out. They respond in a timely manner and most all of the staff seem pleasant and friendly . This is a busy place and only one front desk person was dismissive but all others are wonderful. Still haven't heard back from her vets office just across the way which is disappointing to say the least. Will continue with seven hills for care! read more

What can I say about this place? This place is wonderful. I had to call around 5 am for an emergency with my 14 1/2 year old cat, Misty. They were so helpful and friendly. They explained everything that they would do. Gave me directions on how to find them and we were in the office 15 minutes later. The lady behind the front desk (sorry forgot her name as well as the doctor) was super friendly and very compassionate. Want to say thank you for taking good care of us and my baby. I've used seven hills for a couple years and sort of accepted their higher pricing because I assumed I was receiving superior care. My recent experience reflects how they just wrote me and my pet off. Six months ago, I noticed my cat having some breathing issues. She'd be at rest and start wheezing. I took her to seven hills, sat in my car while she saw her vet, and waited for the vet to call me (pandemic policy). I forget which vet I saw, but he told me "your cat's just fat, switch her food so she loses weight and she will be fine." Then I paid the $60 something exam fee and went home and ordered a weight management food. Fast forward a couple months and my cat's wheezing gets worse and worse, until one night we're on the couch and she's wheezing so hard, her whole body is shaking. I rushed her to the closest vet by me in Denver and paid for X-rays. Asthma. My cat has asthma. I explained that I brought my cat into seven hills vet months prior and they said it a weight issue, and the new vet said the asthma was pretty obvious, except since it's gone untreated, it turned into full blown bronchitis, putting my dog at risk too since it's contagious. I ended up paying several hundred dollars to this second vet for X-rays and medication that could have been avoided if seven hills did their job correctly the first time. I tried contacting seven hills regarding their crappy service and received a voicemail while I was at work, i returned that call and got their voicemail, and then I emailed them to try and talk. I asked for a refund for my exam fee because I obviously wasted my money here. That was two weeks ago and they've been radio silent. Seven hills is remarkably overpriced for how lazy they are. My cat had a non-serious and treatable condition that was missed because the vet was lazy, went untreated, and turned into something serious, putting my cat AND my dog's health in jeopardy. I shouldn't have had to take her to more than one vet to figure that out, especially for the prices they charge. Then, when I had a problem, I've been ignored. My experience was back in 2022. I have been heartbroken about my husky for a long time. My husky would go to Seven Hills for routine visits and wellness exams. She became very sick and started vomiting blood and there was blood in her stool. I took my husky several times to Seven Hills and was told that it was digestive upset. Seven Hills provided meds to help my husky . She was not getting better and we felt like we were just getting brushed off. We took her to Parker Emergency and we really understood how grave our sweet dog's situation really was. She was very sick and it wasn't digestive upset. We put her to sleep based on the Parker vet's recommendation. I'm still mad at Seven Hills to this day for not taking the time or performing the due diligence needed. I feel guilty for my dog's passing because I trusted Seven Hills. read more

I went for a scheduled check up visit today and the signs on the door were no mask required if you are vaccinated. 90% of the staff and visitors were unmasked in a mask mandate. I went to this hospital on 12/8/21 the med assistant didn't listen to me in regards my dog's previous medical issues and strongly assumed it was marijuana poisoning (without proper testing) I was very embarrassed because the lady that helped us was raising her voice in front of other customers. very disappointed how I was treated being a customer for several years, I spend 110 dollars for this visit for you to stare at her for hours and flash a light on her eyes and telling me that it's not marijana related. my dog end up passing away on 12/9 at another hospital due to liver complications. read more

If I could give this place a negative star I would, The sign outside of the building clearly says 24 hour emergency services, what it should say is 24 hour emergency services except for Wednesday nights... Our 12 year old Siberian husky had a mass on his spleen that ruptured, he couldn't walk, his gums were white as snow and his breath was labored. We drove him to seven hills hospital only for them to tell me that they didn't have any emergency doctors that night and the general vets were all off 15 minutes ago. The front desk person went to see if any of the doctors still there would see us and they told me they had all left. Funny thing... there was a vet in the lobby as I walked in panicked about my dog, but no one could help us... The only nice thing they did for us is a vet TECH came out to make sure the dog was stable enough for us to transport him to Alameda East. I've lived in seven hills for 25 years and this isn't the first time this hospital was, in my opinion, to selfish, to help the animals in my family. Save your time and go to Alameda East where the staff and DOCTORS, care about their patients. We even got a hand written note from the doctor who put our dog down. read more

Amazing service! Took my new puppy the 23rd of December on short notice and I was still in in out pretty quick ! I was sent home with instructions on how to help my puppy get better along with some medication and it didn't hurt my financial situation at all. I really wish this could of been my neighborhood vet. I live so close! But no. Not if I care about my dogs. My rescue pup was sick and I took her in to get checked out, it was 60 bucks for the exam and then another 60ish for meds. The doctor was nice but didnt really tell me anything I didnt already know. I brought my dog home that day to administer the medication. I did it exactly as prescribed. I had three medications, 1 for her stools to solidify and an antibiotic. I gave my dog her dose of one drug and within a minute she had a bad reaction and threw it up. I waited an hour and gave her half the dose. She was fine, almost back to normal feeling :) I was VERY upset that the doctor had prescribed my little dog twice as much as needed..maybe more. The other drug was a pill I had asked about after discussing some xanax for my anxious pup. She wasnt about prescribing my dog xanax, so she gave me a SEDATIVE to try. Sorry doc, but I wanted my dog to calm down from anxieties, not be SEDATED. I was NOT going to use this for when I want to socialize my dogs to new people and pets like intended. However, my rescues both get really car sick from stress and anxiety so I decided that the sedative would work well for car rides. Since the doctor gave me twice as much as was needed for the other drug, I decided to give my dog half of the prescribed dose to start. Good thing I did. This high energy pup was very sedated on half a dose. A full dose would of put her unconscious I would think!!! They also cut the pills in half. Idk how i feel about this cause I think they do that to charge more. My dogs cause of illness was most likely on a new dog treat I had started giving her. When I started her meds I removed the new treats off her diet as well. its been over a month since shes gotten better and theres no issues. Kinda happy I passed on giving a 69 dollar fecal sample even though they really wanted one to rule out parasites. read more

Do NOT take your guinea pig to 7 hills. I made that mistake....Dr. Fox completely misdiagnosed my pet, sent me home with critical care feed, antibiotic and pain meds. Told me to syringe feed my guinea pig for a few days until he was strong enough to have his overgrown molars fixed. Next day he was much worse, I called 7 hills and they told me they had no time to see him, I called Vida and they told me to bring him in immediately. They told me he was in GI stasis and had been for a few days and most likely would not survive the insertion of a feeding tube. Said if I had seen a vet 24 hours earlier Pablo would have had a good chance of survival. They were horrified when I showed them the prognosis and treatment plan that 7 Hills had given me the previous day. The very first thing that they said should have happened was that 7 Hills should have immediately given him sub cutaneous fluids and a gut stimulant, instead they left him sitting for 5 hours until their "Exotics" vet came on shift. If Dr. Fox is your alleged exotics vet....you might want to invest in some more training for her as she misdiagnosed completely the situation and If I had gone straight to Vida and bypassed 7 hills Pablo would still be alive and recovering. read more

Absolutely outstanding! The facility is the most high end locations I've ever attended - lobby looked very graceful, as a hotel lobby. Staff was extremely sweet (however, staff aren't nice to their own peers... we guests can hear you speaking about your peer named "amber", who happens to have my name too, being in the bathroom too much. In my home, you could say I have a small collection of animals. I have three teacup chihuahuas and one cockatiel in which all of them have their issues sometime or another. I have brought three of the four animals here, and I just have to say, they are the best! The staff and doctors are very friendly and polite, the best I have dealt with in the animal industry. I had to bring my bird in at one point due to gram negative bacteria appearing in his feces and they simply gave me antibiotics and educated me on what could have done that to him- then came the bill. I held my breath- it was only 125 dollars! Amazing, great service AND reasonable pricing?? I think I'm dreaming. For those of you who think that's expensive, think again: exotic animals (i.e. My bird) are an extremely expensive animal to treat. That being said, this is such a nice relief. Secondly, until you spend $3000 on just neurological testing on ONE animal (this was done at another facility), don't talk to me about cost. A clogged anal gland on one dog and a swollen paw on another has caused me to bring two of my three dogs in. Both of these times, they quickly got my chihuahuas in and took the best care I have ever received with a vet. The facility is clean and they have even introduced spa-like music into the operatories to keep your animals calm. I cannot say anything bad about this vet; they are friendly, affordable, and the most caring vets I have ever encountered. They truly care about your animals. Due to this amazing experience, I have signed up for all of our annual exams and will recommend them to anyone. They are the best of the best I have found in Denver. read more

Seven Hills Veterinary Hospital - Very clean facility. - Veterinarians Near Me - Aurora, Colorado

I have been to this location multiple times for an emergency visit and have been told they did not have a vet on staff. It is advertised as a 24 hour Emergency vet, how do you not have a vet on staff? This did not happen 1 time but multiple time. Very frustrating when you are holding an animal in your arms that is barely alive and you are told you have to go somewhere else. Then on the drive to the next vet the animal passes away in your arms. read more
