If you have a translator you will be better off! I could not understand the woman veterinarian that was checking my dog! She was definitely trying to sell me anything she could! My bill was close to $400.00 for an ear infection, cleaning ears and medicine administered! Two months later they denied my dogs prescription through PETMEDS because my dog needed to come in again for a checkup! This clinic is all about the cash grab! I brought both our dogs to this clinic for a few years but when they denied the prescription refill that was the last straw. I absolutely do not recommend this clinic for many reasons! Dr. Shannon and michelle have been amazing since i started seeing them in January of 2024. I noticed a lump on my cats neck. She didn't go straight for the worse and most costly option to diagnose. Unfortunately it turned out my kitty minnie had b cell lymphoma. I chose to do everything i could for my kitty including surgeries and medicine and when dr. shannon couldn't do the treatments herself she helped me find an amazing oncologist . Minnie got another full quality of life before passing away . Not only were they super compassionate the entire time of this difficult year but they helped me and worked with me so i could pay for the treatments without taking me to the bank. I also had to put my almost 16 year old dog down during this time and they made the experience as best as they could. (Pat M). Dr. Shannon is greedy to the extent she will shame the loving owner of an old cat to sell services that she herself could not say would have any value. We brought in our 16-year-old cat, Harry, who was clearly showing end-of-life symptoms. Our intent was to relieve him of his misery if Dr. Shannon could not identify a certain problem that was treatable and would improve his quality of life. After the tests we ordered had been completed, Dr. Shannon indicated a number of issues that might be treatable and she would not answer the question of whether the treatment would improve his QOL. For that reason, we indicated that we felt it was best to relieve Harry of his suffering. Dr. Shannon then looked at my wife and in a curt tone stated "it seems like you want to do NOTHING" to save your cat! She really tried to pressure us into a long treatment plan requiring multiple follow-ups and which she could not say would be of any benefit to Harry's quality of life. She also went through years of Harry's vet records to shame us on our decisions that we had made at vets past. My wife was in tears. Dr. Shannon made the most difficult decision that any pet owner will ever have to make the most uncomfortable situation possible. She was condescending, argumentative, and greedy. Dr.Shannon's approach is abrasive and off putting. Despite the previous negative reviews I wanted to make an opinion on my own experience but every comment about her approach was true. Any time I have gone to an appt there is always an upsell for additional labs or costs that weren't the primary reason for making an appt. It seems very deceptive and when you decline an additional service/lab, you are met with condescending feedback. The front staff were always nice but Dr.Shannon's lack of interpersonal skills and her abrasive manner are not what any pet parent would want to treat their furry kiddos. read more

"Good luck at your next clinic. Bye." This is what Dr. Shannon told me as she slammed the door of the exam room on her way out. I brought my two dogs in for a check up and vaccines, which I had told the vet tech I wanted. I voiced my opinion that I did not want the extra tests (heartworm, fecal, blood). Instead of having a conversation about why I did not want the tests, the vet used fear mongering to insist I get the tests as well as fixing my dogs (your baby can get dog parasites, your dog can have liver cancer). I stood my ground and said I did not want the extra tests. I am a (human) medical professional, and in our training, we have conversations with patients and use shared decision making. Even if our patients don't agree with our medical advice, we don't storm out of the room; we attempt to have a conversation and listen to their side of the story. This was the opposite of what I experienced with Dr. Shannon. Rather, I felt hostility and judgement. Objectively, the vet did a fine job with the exam and they are transparent about pricing. Subjectively, this veterinarian is not someone I want to work with moving forward. So yes, I will be taking my dogs to another clinic. read more

This vet stands for pet shaming and pushing their agenda for financial gain. My grandmother entrusted the care of her pets to this vet. She opted to not pursue a procedure that was extremely costly and came with the risk of her dog not surviving. He was 15 and living a happy life full of walks, meals and lots of love. When she denied this procedure this vet reported her to Animal Control for neglect! Animal Control ended up seizing her dog and forcing her to put him down. She knew his time was coming (which is why she chose to forgo the procedure) but she knew her dog and knew he was not suffering yet. At the hands of this clinic my grandmas companion of 15 years was put down prematurely. DO NOT RISK YOUR PETS LIFE BY TAKING THEM TO THIS VET! They have nothing but financial motives. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I came here because I just moved to the area and was looking for a new vet for my golden retrievers. When I first walked in, the front desk person seemed flustered and a bit stressed out. Whatever, I was in no hurry and understood that maybe she was stressed about something I didn't see going on. One of the assistants came over and asked me some questions before taking me into the exam room. She had asked if I had thought about breeding my two Golden's which I responded with yes, it's something my husband and I were talking about. I get into the exam room and the assistant is pleasant, and talks to me about different shots I should be giving my golden who was about 6 months at this point. She warned me that having puppies is a huge responsibility and I should reconsider. Everything was fine up to this point because I wasn't stuck on breeding my dogs and was interested in being educated and talking about options, and pros and cons. As soon as Dr. Shannon walked into the room, everything went terrible. I've never received such terrible service in my entire life. She glared at me as she walked in and was extremely condescending. I told her I would only be doing the necessary shots for my golden at that time because I needed to talk to my husband (I also felt really uncomfortable at this point), Dr. Shannon snaps at me and says " what, did you get this dog for free or something?!" I replied with "no, I spent $950", to which she scoffs at me and says "oh well usually when people get their dogs for free they don't want to spend ANY money on them". This was SO unprofessional and I started to get really upset. But this didn't stop Dr Shannon from berating me and basically telling me I was a terrible dog owner for even considering breeding my dogs. I honestly lost it. I started crying at this point while the assistant stood awkwardly in the back and I over explained that my dad died recently and these dogs have helped me so much- which was seriously not even important, but anyways I tell both of them that I'm leaving without getting any shots for my dog. I did not feel comfortable staying in this place for one more second, or giving my money to this place. Dr Shannon leaves for a brief moment and I HEAR HER TALKING ABOUT ME TO SOMEONE ELSE!!! I hear her say "yeah it's getting really emotional in there" and I couldn't make out the rest but that was the last straw. At least wait until I felt the office- this only added to how upset I was. The thing is, I would have loved to talk another breeding and would have loved to have an educated conversation about this, that's one of the reasons to go to a vet and talk to them. And if you don't agree, they will have your animal seized by animal control and put down! ** This clinic should be shut down IMMEDIATELY! A very dear friend had entrusted the care of her dogs to this clinic. She had a fun loving 15 year old mix breed that had offered her many years of companionship. This vet had suggested and recommended for his teeth to be cleaned and possibly removed. However, this was a very costly procedure and he had high likelihood of not surviving the procedure. Given that there were more negatives than positives to following their recommendations, she opted to not have the teeth cleaning done. As a result of her non compliance, they reported her to animal control for neglect and the dog was removed from her home and impounded and the Denver Dumb Friends League for a week until a hearing took place. At the hearing she was presented with 2 choices- to put the dog down and or pay to have his teeth cleaned. PLEASE NOTE: Her fun loving dog down was still enjoying 2 walks a day, his breakfast and dinner, naps on the couch and frequent snuggles. So at the hands of this vet my friend was forced to put her dog down. NEVER EVER TRUST THE CARE OF YOUR PET TO THIS CLINIC! read more

We have been bringing our pets here since 2006. Some people have posted here that Dr. Shannon has done things to harm their pet for the sake of money. I DO NOT believe that for a moment. Dr. Shannon is a passionate animal lover! However, the past several years it has turned into a money, money, money situation at this clinic. We took our, just turned four year old in for her annual check up and vaccines last week and it was $482.00 and the Estimate to have her teeth cleaned was almost 700.00. It is a sad state of affairs when money becomes the focus rather than our pets. We will no longer be seeing Dr. Shannon or Cherry Knolls Vet Clinic. We took our dog Lola to Festival Animal Clinic for her Annual check up and vaccines this morning and the cost was 152.00! read more

This vet practice has disappointed me since 2014, but I didn't know who else to go to. They charge very high prices and insist on services before they will even look at the issue you for which you came, for example, my pet had what appeared to be an infected tooth which I thought might need extraction. I was told that a dental cleaning would be required, and a full blood work up before that. The result was the "infected tooth" was cleaned and ok, but 6 other teeth were pulled coming to a total bill of $675! The worst, however, was when my pet was being treated for pneumonia and was given guaifenesin pills, an OTC medication that is used to break up mucus. My pet would not take the pills. I called the Dr. and she recommended children's Mucinex (brand name) liquid. I gave my pet this medicine but its heartrate and respirations were very high. Much higher than normal according to the internet. I called the vet twice and was given no help. Turns out that the children's mucinex had another ingredient which was poisonous. My pet suffered for 14 hours while I tried everything I could think of: humidifier, creating a tent space to hold in the moisture, etc. My pet had a massive heart attack while laying at the foot of my bed at 2 in the morning. (I hold myself accountable as well for blindly following vet instructions and not researching the ingredients of the liquid mucinex and I am haunted every day by what I did to my poor trusting sick furbaby.) The vet did not warn me to look for other ingredients, nor didn't believe the increased heart rate and respirations were a problem. So, yes, I hold her responsible for the unnecessary death and needless suffering of my pet. I have had very bad luck with 2 other local vets and one emergency animal hospital. I beg anyone looking for vet services, other than yearly shots, to be careful in choosing a vet and don't be afraid to question them, or even walk out if your gut is telling you something is wrong. read more

The only reason this place gets even a star is because my assistant was so friendly and helpful. However, the doctor is rude, unprofessional, and extremely defensive. The way she spoke to me when I told her I felt like I wasn't being taken seriously as a patient when she did not run any tests on my cat but had her own pet there getting x-rays for free was baffling. I will not be returning here ever again and I advise anyone with a pet not to bring theirs here unless you'd like to be met with unprofessionalism by the one veterinarian that works here. We have been bringing our pets here for about a decade. Back about 6-8 years ago, this place was great. Wonderful customer service, affordable and just an overall great Vet clinic. However, the past few years, this place has changed in a negative way. If you go here, please be prepared that if you would like to ask follow up questions about why you are being charged for something/ refuse any service that is recommended for any reason, you will be spoken to in a way intended to make you feel guilty and like a bad pet owner. This past experience was the straw. We brought our dog in for a check up and when i spoke to the woman (i do not know who she was as my partner took our dog in and i spoke to her on the phone at work) I inquired about why we were being charged for a Thyroid exam when he had one on his last visit that came out normal. She stated that it was because he 'has not lost weight', even though he has lost nearly 15 pounds in the past 2 years, ridiculous! Then, I tried to reason with her, bringing up how many years we have been loyal to their clinic and trying to understand why their clinic is drastically more expensive than others, she stated, 'I don't even know you'... What a rude and unprofessional response. i wish i could explain in text how condescending she was to me and how guilty she attempted to make me feel. I dont think this is a bad clinic.. i think they care about the animals they serve. But no matter what they say, they try to 'upsell' you on every little thing that your pet doesnt need and if you attempt to ask follow up questions or say you do not want a certain service, they treat you poorly, and that is just unacceptable. I really hope they get it together, take the constructive criticism from the multiple other comments ive seen that echo my same experience, and turn it around. Our family dog Snoozey (she's a Pekipoo) unexpectedly had seizures one weekend and in a crying mess we took her to the ER where we found her glucose and liver enzymes were testing off the charts. Our normal vet had just run blood work on her 2 months prior and said she was in good health! My mom and I pulled up the tests they ran and saw that Snoozey's levels were way way over a danger line and that vet didn't say ANYTHING!!!! It could have been avoided entirely with the proper diagnoses and medicine. We were heartbroken and quite disgusted by that vet. Suffice it to say, we began a search for a new vet that would give Snoozey excellent medical care and truly care for her. Cherry Knolls Vet Clinic has been a GODSEND! They are attentive, invested in her overall health and medication maintenance - we have gotten a younger version of Snoozey back. They got her on the right track of meds for her condition. Our deepest gratitude to Cherry Knolls and thank you for treating Snoozey like she is one of your own dogs. It's changed her lil sassy 7 pound self in many positive ways! Found My Vet and Love the Amazing Staff! I was referred here by a client of mine that lives in my neighborhood and Im so glad I finally went. My first visit was for our Great Dane and German Shepard/ Lab mix. Both dogs were showered with affection and treated so well. I was giving a print out of all my options for services needing to be done and also recommended services. I choose which ones I wanted and which ones I thought were not needed with no rudeness or attitude. They even were able to get information from our old Vet and saved me the cost of blood work (which on a great dane is a lot). I was also offered a discount card that has more than paid for itself. Since my first visit I have been back multiple times for a new kitten and our older dogs discomfort, she was 14. I told them that I had a budget and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for an older dog and they assured me they would keep that in mind. The last time I visited I had both our older dog and our new kitten. The kitten was just a booster and the older dog was for blood work to make sure the pain medicine, that was helping her be more mobile, and to make sure it wasn't hurting her more than helping. Unfortunately, she had a tumor that had ruptured unbeknown to me and she ended up passing away. The staff acted with the upmost respect and quality care. I couldn't get her to get out of the car, so one of the vet techs came out and carried her in. They laid a comforter down to lay her on. Once Dr. Shannon came in, she asked me a few questions, of course by this point I was in tears and terribly sad. She stopped breathing and they immediate performed CPR, and all sorts of other tactics to see if she could be saved. Sadly, it was her time. I've read some of these other reviews and feel that if you could see the look and determination in all the staffs eye as they physically exhausted themselves and cried along with me, you would want them to take care of your fur babies too. I had an extremely poor experience at Cherry Knolls and I actually held off on writing a bad review until yesterday. We moved to the area and our old vet was way too far to go so we decided to pick a close vet, Cherry Knolls. First we took our dog to get a shot (to get him compliant for kenneling). During this first meeting the vet suggested that we get him a dental. The dog had had a dental in the last year and my husband declined (and got lectured). They then suggested he get some special food for his teeth. So I researched the food and decided to get it, online. They took WEEKS to approve it, my guess is because, I didn't get it from them. This annoyed me, but fine, whatever. What totally put me over the top was the experience with my cat. He had been peeing everywhere and we were pretty sure that he had a urinary tract infection (from past experience). So I took him to CK and saw Dr. Lauria to get a urinalysis. Here is where it starts; they insist we should first try special food and a get him a dental. I tell them, right now I want to focus on fixing the UTI and I get lectured. I mean we get in a LOUD fight about this. They think tartar is more important. I should have left, but I wanted my cat out of his misery. RELUCTANTLY, they do the analysis (which takes several days to get the results back). Guess what? He has a UTI and they give him antibiotics (well we do orally for 10 days). After the course of antibiotics I bring him back in to get checked again (to be sure it is all gone) and they keep me waiting 30 minutes, finally take the cat back for like 1 minute say they can't get urine so they just ASSUME he is OK. That is it, they are done. I am so pissed, I leave. Flash forward to yesterday. The cat is miserable again. Same symptoms (about 6 weeks after they "treated" him). I take him to my old vet and they do all the tests immediately, just had to wait a few minutes for results and tell me he has a raging infection (UTI). Probably wasn't properly treated and it has just gotten worse. So now he is back on antibiotics and I have had to go to a real vet who knows how to treat people and pets. I would never recommend this place. They couldn't even be bothered to send test results to my new (old) vet (they insisted on cultures and blood tests along with my requested urinalysis). They don't care about anything but $$. Dentals and special diets are where the money are and that is all they focus on. read more

I have been bring my 2 dogs here for 3 years now and have had nothing but excellent care from Dr. Shannon and the staff. My dogs have had multiple check ups, a surgery, and care for accidental injuries. The prices for care have never been outrageous and have always been reasonable for the services provided. My dogs are healthy and happy because I choose to go to a vet that puts them first. I have had dogs for 20 plus years and been to many different vets, but none have been as proactive in keeping my dogs healthy as Dr. Shannon and the staff at Cherry Knolls. Have taken my dogs to Cherry Knolls for the following: Allergies, muscle spasms, sprains, anal gland removal, check ups, vaccinations, heart worm medication and testing, neutering, and digestive issues. Please don't use this veterinary clinic!! We used to take our animals here until we finally got tired of the constant upselling. We would be in their clinic for one animal and they would give us proposals and estimates with lists of things we need to have done for our other animal. They are only concerned with scheduling your next appointment and getting more unnecessary money from you! We had to take our cat to the ER last week at 11 oclock at night because he had blood in his mouth. Cherry Knolls Vet was listed as our default vet because when we were there 4 years ago with our dog who had diabetes we were still going to this clinic. We received our discharge antibiotics for our cat and followed up with our now veterinarian. Cherry Knolls Vet called me the day after our ER visit to schedule an appointment but I didn't follow-up with them because we no longer go there. Because I didn't return their phone call THEY CALLED ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES on us to do a welfare check?? WHAT?? Because we didn't take our cat in to them they filed a report on us and now we have an open case. When animal control showed up at our door they were dumbfounded as the cat is in perfect condition, perfect health and our regular veterinarian had to provide them paperwork that we are doing everything we need to be doing. Ridiculous!! This is the lengths they go to to get money out of their "customers". This is what they think of us after spending thousands of dollars in their office with our other animals. Maybe they can pretend that their only concern was for the welfare of our cat, but they know us as pet owners and know we do everything for our animals. Do animals abusers take their pets to ER's in the middle of the night? Please don't go to this clinic!! read more

Our family has gone to this office for the last decade and we have had nothing but good experiences. They are reasonably priced, friendly and very knowledgeable. They have solved a slew of crazy medical conditions our pets have unfortunately had over the years and now that we have moved out of commuting range, it is extremely hard to find a comparable vets office that we can trust as much as this one. I continue to drive far out of my way because they have done so well with us and our pets over the years. This vet office should honestly have 5 stars! Ww recently took our 14 year old dog here, and begged for the same anti-biotics that had resolved our dog's pancreatitis in the past. The vet said she would not prescribe anything until a blood panel was taken. We repeatedly told her that the dog is old and sick and we were NOT going to spend a boatload of cash to keep him alive. It fell on deaf ears. Not to mention the guilt trip comments about not bringing our cat in more often (a cat who has not had any health problems in the last five years) Finally, we relented and got the blood panel done, only to find that the dog is in end stage kidney failure. A different vet called to tell us this and more or less guilt tripped my wife and I that "if a blood panel had been done sooner, we could've *and still can) treated the dog with a IV fluid program that would only cost around $200, three times a week." "Um, sorry honey, but we are not going to pay that kind of money for a dog with what the vet tech described as 'the WORST heart murmur I have ever heard'" Doesn't make us bad dog owners and we don't appreciate you acting like you think we are. We also didn't NEED to be told that if we aren't going to pay that kind of money to treat him, that "the only caring thing to do is to let him go". I think we could've figured that out on our own. Dr. Shannon, Dr. DeLauria and their staff have taken care of my 2 goldens since they were 8 weeks old. The dogs are now 6 and in great health thinks to the care and attention from this vet clinic. They cared for the dogs through a major hind leg slice that needed stitches and sedation, through tummy and digestive problems, and through all their wellness visits. I have taking my animals to Dr Shannon for the past 5 years. She and her staff were incredibly understanding and supportive when my shepherd was diagnosed with splenic cancer and received surgery elsewhere. Our dog (Heidi) collapsed 3 weeks after surgery and began bleeding internally. Dr Shannon and her staff were great when they stopped what they were doing to euthanize Heidi. Again this past October, we received the tragic news that our Malamute had bone cancer. The staff supported my difficult decision to not pursue chemotherapy and leg amputation; when the specialist who saw Enya berated me for not pursing over $5000 of treatment for a dog who had already had mobility issues! Dr. Shannon has been my veterinarian for over 10 years. She is attentive, incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and communicates clearly. Her passion for animal care also makes her pricing reasonable. She reviews everything with you beforehand so there is no surprises and, if the recommended care is unaffordable at the time, she will be clear about how we can prioritize what needs to be done now and what can wait for a future visit. At the end of the day, we all make a commitment to our animals when we decide to make them a part of our lives and sometimes animal care can be expensive. In my opinion, if you can't commit to quality healthcare, quality food, etc. you should reconsider your commitment to a pet. That being said, Dr. Shannon has always been straight up with me on what my options are, what the ideal case scenario looks like and how, if necessary, we can find a sweet spot that is both affordable and the highest level of care possible. Dr. Shannon has been a friend to two very special companions of mine; one I had to say goodbye to a few years ago, and the other more recently. Throughout their lives, Dr. Shannon got to know me and my dogs, understand them, and develop a relationship of love and trust with myself and my animals. Through emergencies, routine checkups and vaccinations, it's always 100% clear that her focus is the health and well-being of my animals; regardless of the situation, Dr. Shannon will take all variables into consideration when determining the best strategy for care. This passion and love for my dogs is the reason that I will never see another vet as long as Dr. Shannon practices. As my dogs progressed in age, Dr. Shannon was always available to discuss my options for the best care possible (medications, food, supplements, etc.) and took all variables into account while leveraging all the newest medicines and technologies to ensure that my dogs enjoyed every bit of their senior years. Having to let go of these two close companions was absolutely heartbreaking. Both times. Dr. Shannon intimately understands and it shows in the way she acts as a friend and knowledgeable advisor through the process. I wouldn't want to go through that with anyone else taking the lead. I can't say enough about Cherry Knolls and Dr. Shannon. I have been taking my cat here for years. I was originally very pleased with their services, when I first went there in 2009-10. Back in those days, my review would have sounded a lot like some of the 5 star reviews currently on here. One thing I have noticed however is that in my most recent visits, they seem to find every excuse they can to get money out of you. I scheduled my last visit, because I noticed a small lump on my cats belly. Over the phone, they explained how they would check to see what it is, and gave me a cost estimate. They also stated they would need to sedate him, which was no surprise, because they always have to sedate him when he comes in (he hates going into the clinic and gets very agitated, even though he is the most docile and playful cat I have ever seen at home). So far so good. They further stated that he is due for blood work, and they would like to get that done. I explained to them that I was currently saving up to get a dental cleaning done at the end of this year when they previously told me it would be due, and since they had previously told me he would have to get blood work done anyway right before that proceedure, I would rather just wait until then, instead of getting it done both now, and again at that time (blood work is very expensive, costing 200-300 dollars). In other words, I told them that this visit was only to check the lump, and everything else would be done when I came back in January. She told me this would be fine. When he did go in, I had my mother take him because I work nights, and sleep during the day. They changed their story up on my mom, again trying to push the blood work, this time stating that they felt it was essential because they were worried that it had been too soon since his last sedation (last January), and blood work would tell them if it was safe to sedate. This is clearly not what I was told over the phone. If they had made this clear initially, that would have bee one thing. But instead, we got what was irraly similar to the old bait and switch sales tactics. Could it just have been a simple miscommunication? Sure, but this is not the first time it has happened to me with them. To make things worse, they tried pressure my mother into getting it done, and were rude about it in the process. They even tried to call me at home, even though my mother told them not to, because of my work schedule. When they realised they weren't going to get blood work paid for, they tried to prescribe a medication that would calm him down, so he could be brought back in later. By this point, my mother was so upset after the smug, and condescending way she had been talked to, that she took my cat and walked out. My mother is not easily upset, so that says something. After hearing about this, I called them back. I explained that I would not be coming back for two reasons. First of all, they were misleading between what they agreed to do over the phone, and then what they tried to do during the appointment. My new vet has now said that their reasons for him to get blood work done for safety of sedation purposes doesn't make sense...go figure. Frankly if the vet business doesn't last for them, they would certainly have a future in used car sales. Secondly, the rude way my mother was treated and talked to, is why they will never receive another cent from me. They did try to call back later, and left a message saying that if it was "consistency of care" I wanted, I should contact the doctor who previously saw him, who now works at another facility. This truly blew me away, and simply reaffirms why I told them I would not be back. It is reaffirmed further still, by reading some of the other reviews out there. Particularly a spine-tingling one on Yelp about how they called animal control on two previous patrons, who also stopped bringing their pet there due to similar complaints. What a waste of government time and and taxpayers dollars. All, please give this place a wide berth. read more

I took my fur baby to cherry knolls for an emergency. I have been recently looking for a new doctor and clinic. Dr. Fleischman was quick to assist and made sure I was comfortable with the options available. She made me feel comfortable and was extremely knowledgeable. Its so important that my pet is in good hands and I can honestly say that I will start coming to cherry knolls as long as Dr. Amanda fleischman is around. read more

Cherry Knolls has been a part of our family for a little over a year. They've been great. We have an English Bulldog and we're in there a fair amount. They've helped square him away numerous times and he's comfortable with the staff. Highly recommend them and will be continue to be customer for years to come! read more
