Dr Kondos is absolutely horrible. My dog has been cared for by Banfield since I brought her home 8 years ago. She was just seen at Banfield 5 weeks ago. Dr Kondos wouldn't refill her Simperica because she didn't prescribe it even though she was the one working. I work during the week and so my dog is going to go without protection all week and I will have to make another unnecessary appointment just for refills. What a horrible experience from this terrible doctor I got this response from Lisa R. Who seems to be a bot, because she has answered every review for over 10 years. I'm losing faith in Banfield. They should have consistent customer service. If you need a refill on maintenance meds that they prescribe, then their doctors should refill these routine meds. We are talking about routine flea, tick, heart worm medications that should be automatically refilled when your dog was just seen. Dr Kondos and Banfield are only trying to get more money out of you even if you've already paid for the monthly "wellness " plan that now costs me $60 every month Yes, Lisa R. Is a bot. I was visiting my mom for two months for the holidays and we got a new puppy and I experienced two different vets at this Banfield and both of them were extremely kind and knowledgeable with great bedside manner, and they both seemed to know a lot about the breed which is a Toy Poodle ...I got a Toy Poodle puppy and they knew a lot about this specific breed of dog and they were kind to me and my dog. They were very protective and cared about the overall being of the family...I will be going back when we come back home to visit. The puppy package which I guess is like insurance is great and I do recommend it. Since I travel a lot it's good to know there is that me place that can keep track of my pet. The package covers all her vaccines and also when she will get fixed ...: it's a better experience in Tulsa Oklahoma unlike the horrible experience we had in el Segundo California Banfield ... yikes if only people in Tulsa knew what it was like in Los Angeles they would have a whole new level of gratitude lol read more

I cannot speak highly enough about the entire staff at Banfield on 41st. My 6 mo Scottie puppy had a recent bout of persistent stomach issues. Dr. Kondos and Dr. Miller were both very responsive, thorough, and kind. They always answered or returned my calls quickly (and I called a lot), listened closely as I tried to describe symptoms, always took the time to explain treatment options, costs, and answered all of my questions. I took my female cat in because she had been acting strangely, itching her ear and shaking her head a lot. The doctor swabbed her ear and said "ew, there's a lot of black gunk in here. It is probably an ear infection". She filled a RX for ear drops and said to give it a few weeks. Nearly $200 and several weeks later and my cat is still having problems. I took her to a different vet and it's 100% ear mites. Easily diagnosed because of the "black ear gunk". Ear mites are highly contagious. I have another cat, which I told the vet at Banfield. They both have them now. I'm so upset. I could've had them both treated and healed by now. read more

I gave Banfield 5 stars is because of so many reasons. I will narrow it down to 5 reasons since i can only be aloud to give them 5 stars. 1. They have a wellness plan that let's you pay monthly, so if your on a tight budget but want the best for your furry family they provide that. 2. Dr. McQueen, She's so sweet & nice. She encourages you to ask questions, and doesn't make you feel rushed or silly for asking. She show's love to your animals & wants what's best for them as well. She truly is a wonderful vet. 3. The staff is courteous and upbeat. You always get a phone call a week before their appointment to remind you of it & to make sure your able to make it. 4. Always very clean & treats everywhere and in every waiting room, so that your pet/pet's are comfortable, which i believe is important. 5. Lastly they are open on sunday's which is so convienent for us who have to work during the week and some saturday's. You can rest assure that your pet will have his/her shot's or whatever it may be done. I also want to include that everyone that works here is very knowledgable and if they don't know then they always ask one of the dr's to make sure they give you the right answer. read more

This place is ALL about money. I took my 15 lb dog in because he has 4-5 small moles that bother him and he licks them. They charged me $125 for the office visit, 5 small pills of antibotics, and some cream. They showed me what it will cost to removed those $1200 - yep and I'm 75 yrs old and cannot afford that. Nice, friendly people who greet you and talk to you about your animal. Not a bad place at all except for one thing...... They CONSTANTLY talk about getting you to buy into a preventative maintenance plan for your pet. I have a plan for my pet - a plan that includes finding a vet's office that discusses my pet's health instead of trying to get me to buy a maintenance plan for it. Without buying the plan, the 2nd visit for a booster will cost more than the first initial visit. It's not a car. It's my pet. If I want a plan, I'll buy pet insurance and get a multi-policy discount through my personal insurance agency. Also, when they gave my cat her shots, they missed with one of the needles and the medicine ended up all over my cat and the table. They tried it again and it took the 2nd time. read more

Ok so my fiance and I have two animals a dog and a cat. We looked for a vet. for them seeing as how we wanted our pets to live forever. Then we found Banfield and of course we did our research on it and guess what, It was extreordianry. So we set an appointment to go talk with the vet. before deciding anything. We talked with Dr. Katie McQueen(the vet) for probably 30 minutes about everything we were worried about. She took the time to answer all of our questions and didnt try to rush us either. By the time the appointment was over we were so comfortable that we enrolled both of our pets in there wellness program. Its like health insurance for them. Practically everything is covered under the plan we have them on,the only thing that isnt is the meds for them. But hey guess what you get a discount on the meds if your pet(s) are enrolled in their program so hey its a win/win situation. read more

This place is a SCAM. Took my new puppy in for her first round of shots and asked about her additional need for shots and being spayed in the future. They sell me on this "wellness plan" that was $67.00/month and $100 to sign up that day (by the end of it I would be paying close to $1,000.00). They talked me in to it because they told me it was going to cost $350.00 to spay my puppy and that doesn't even include her pain medication or the cone. I was thinking it would be more manageable to pay per month instead of coming up with $350 all at once. I signed up for the plan, but didn't feel right about it. I called around to other vets the following Monday to inquire about prices. Everywhere consistently told me that it would be about $130 or less to spay and $40.00 for a round of shots no office visit charge. We called to cancel the plan and they tried to convince us that what they do there is somehow better than other vets, but could not give me any specifics. In addition, now that I am cancelling the plan and not getting the "discount" I will have to pay another $120 on top of the $100 that I paid the day I took her in. TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY DOLLARS for ONE ROUND OF puppy SHOTS that could have cost me $50.00 at the most at vets around town that were recommended to me by trusted friends who have been going to them for years. DO NOT GET CAUGHT UP IN THIS SCAM. BEWARE. These are the type of vets that kill dogs because no one can afford to take their animal to the vet. This company disgusts me. read more
