My name is Colonel (Retired) United States Army, and I am formally submitting this customer complaint against Banging System Car Audio, located at 840 Robeson Street, Fayetteville, NC 28305. After conducting several weeks of research on the Tesla Merge Screen (see Exhibit 1), I decided to purchase the system and have it installed by an authorized installer recommended by the manufacturer. Based on the manufacturer's website and direct recommendations, Banging System Car Audio was identified as the closest authorized installation vendor. I scheduled an appointment with Banging System to install the Merge Screen in my Ford F-350, of which I am the original owner. The vehicle is in mint condition, and prior to the installation there were no warning lights or service indicators illuminated on the dashboard. Upon retrieving my vehicle after the installation, I immediately noticed a 4x4 warning light illuminated on the dashboard (see Exhibit 2). Based on general mechanical knowledge--and after consulting with multiple individuals--I would never have returned to an audio installation shop for a drivetrain or 4x4 issue. Instead, I took my vehicle directly to Liberty Ford of Fayetteville, NC for professional diagnosis. Following their diagnostic evaluation (see Exhibit 3), Liberty Ford determined that the 4x4 selector switch had been disconnected, which directly caused the warning light to appear. According to the Ford service technician, there is no plausible scenario in which this connector would "come loose" on its own. The technician confirmed that the disconnection occurred during the installation of the Merge Screen system, given the proximity of the 4x4 switch to the installed microphone and screen components (see Exhibit 4 for component locations). I subsequently contacted the owner of Banging System Car Audio to address the issue. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach a resolution. The owner stated he needed several days to review paperwork to determine whether the warning light was noted at pickup. I viewed this response as a delay tactic rather than a good-faith effort to resolve the matter. I am a Retired Colonel of the United States Army and take my integrity seriously. I have no reason to misrepresent facts. During my service as a Company Commander, Battalion Commander, and Brigade Commander, I witnessed far too many instances where off-post businesses took advantage of Soldiers and their families. This type of conduct is unacceptable and undermines trust within the military community. Businesses such as Banging System Car Audio must be held accountable for their actions. Therefore, I am formally requesting that this matter be processed as an Off-Post Establishment Complaint and reviewed by the appropriate consumer protection and military-affiliated oversight entities. Go to " SIGNATURE SOUNDS"! Banging Systems is the most dishonest company I have EVER had to deal with and it took me over 2 months fighting them but I WON in the end, my $350 back. With so much on my mind with 3 devastating deaths in just a few months time, I didn't pay attention to the exact charge on my receipt for an installation of my front and back speakers that was to take place the following morning. They convinced me to pay up front ( NEVER DO THIS! LESSON LEARNED) to make it quicker for me to get in an out the next morning so I could get on the road to Florida to be with my mom and brother as my Sister in Law had just committed suicide that day and tried to convince me to leave my speakers there to which I did not. Long story short, only offered store credit for a service that did not even take place because I told them I was not accepting that to which the lady was quite rude and not to mention, a man was going off in there while I was in there, talking about his vehicle been there for 2 days and they told him 2 hours as they tell EVERYONE, just like they did me, and they had not even touched his vehicle yet. Told the lady I would dispute the charge with my credit card company and she laughed and said " Go for it.... let's see who wins!" and hung up. They lied to my CC company saying they delivered the services when they did not so I took my speakers to "SIGNATURE SOUND" and what an AMAZING DIFFERENCE in attitude, professionalism, less than 2 hours for installation and a good price to which he also helped me with my case by taking pictures of the still "STOCK SPEAKERS" in my car before he did the installation as well as writing a letter for me, twice to give my CC company what they needed and still had to fight them some more but got my money back. When I asked them for help, they laughed... when I WON the case, owner was calling me and being nasty so I told him I had nothing to say and hung up. He then began texting me threatening messages (lies about the service I didn't receive) and said he would take me to court to which I have received nothing on that in the 2 weeks since I got my money back, and replied back that if I received anymore harassment, my attorney would step in. Heard nothing more. Would cost them a lot more than $350 to start court proceedings lol but I have all my proof and witnesses. I will from now on read reviews on everything from now on instead of just certain things. My son brought his car to this place. He had speakers. He was told by the person that works there that the speakers would fit his car. The speakers didn't fit. Yet they still charged him half the labor of the install to do the work. When I called, the person said that he told my son that the speaker "should" fit. OMG! ‍ They knocked the price down to $45. But they should have not charged anything. They are supposed to be professionals!! I don't recommend this company to ANYONE. UPDATE: The car wasn't ready when I paid the bill. Afterwards, I left this review. My son stayed and waited on his car. When the car was completed, the guy told my son that since I left a negative review, my son would have to pay the FULL amount of $65! So he paid it so that he could get his car. I brought my vehicle in last week to Banging Systems Car Audio because of the good reviews. I drove 2 hours in hopes they could rewire a harness that was cut and install a double din. I was told I needed to purchase various harnesses in order for them to fix it - which took them 4 hours just to tell me that. And since I already paid for the installation, I had no choice but to bring it back. Today I brought the harnesses and drove another 2 hours only to be told I didn't even need them except for one. And to my surprise, not only did I have to wait SEVEN HOURS, they didn't install anything correctly. While I waited in the lobby, I came across negative reviews that stated they bribe people into giving them 5 star reviews for discounts, their customer service is horrible, and they halfass the job. If you ask for an update on your vehicle, they get defensive. If you ask for a refund, they only offer store credit. A multitude of redflags. The steering wheel controls do not work, the bluetooth does not work, the android auto USB does not work as they didn't bypass the brake system by grounding the wire properly, and they didn't even screw the dash back in so it literally popped right out while I was driving. I requested a refund, partial refund, store credit, anything to compensate me for the waste of $230 I spent on their "20 years of experience" just to be sent off with half-assed amateur work because they absolutely refused to offer anything. Be careful if you have a newer model car because I don't think they know too much about it. Mine is 2018 and it took them more than 8 hours to replace a stereo from the factory one, and the USB ports are now not working. Haven't check my HDMI port yet but I'm guessing that it's not working as well. When I scheduled the installation, they said only takes few hours. My lane change camera is also not working. I took my car to Dirty South on Skibo & a stereo place in Smithfield to have them look at and they both said there's another module needs to be installed for my lane change camera to work but the can fix the problem. I was gonna come back to this place to install a subwoofer but after all this problems, I'm gonna go to either one of the other shops instead. read more

If I could leave negative stars then trust me I would. Don't EVER waste your time at this place. I spent nearly $700 getting speakers, tweeters and LED interior lights installed just to be ripped off. The manager who acts as if he's on a coke binge told me to bring my car in around 3:00 one day in the afternoon to installed everything I needed. After waiting around for three hours I noticed they hadn't even started the work on my car. After bringing up the concern to the manager he got somebody on it but had me wait almost another three hours to tell me it was "too hard" to do my backseat speakers and I'd have to come back ANOTHER day. Day two, I come in right at opening after getting a new set of tweeters to be installed from a separate seller. I waited ten hours for the worst service I've ever received. After continuously being told by the manager that "it's almost done", I finally get my vehicle back and ready to roll. I get about half a mile down the road and guess what? The LED strips had already fallen off, the back speakers sounded like pure shit, and they disconnected my wipers. I turn back around to have them fix the issue and some guy comes out and says "you must've done something because I never make mistakes". Okay buddy. After weeks of dealing with correcting the mistakes they made, here are my discoveries. They used cheap tape to "install" my LED strips. The back passenger side speaker was secured with one screw, not four. The front door speakers didn't have the sound proofing cups I also purchased with my installs, and one of my after market tweeters is completely missing, while the other one isn't even connected. After several failed attempts to have Best Buy support my request, Banging Systems without hesitation accepted the request. They were quick to take the vehicle and install the Pioneer system into a 2008 Saab. This required a custom kit and faceplate to be crafted along with all new wiring of the existing speakers. They estimated $1500 for the custom install and rewiring, which with an $1100 stereo on a $42k vehicle I found to be acceptable. They also estimated the job would be finished by the following evening. After haggling (unsuccessful), and requesting a detailed breakdown of the price, I turned over the keys. The salesman, also the owners brother, ended the conversation by reaffirming that the technician would survey the vehicle to confirm or deny the estimate and we would receive a call that night. No call came. The following day I called repeated to confirm or deny the estimate so I could make arrangements to pick up the vehicle but every time I called, the technicians or assistant salesmen would answer and refused to confirm or deny the completion time. This was later explained to me as a way to manage expectations and prevent clients from coming to the shop early and impatiently waiting or rushing the staff to complete the service. I disagree with the technique and believe an answer should still be provided. They finished exactly on the estimate they original gave. The custom dash looks professional and the installation is as desired. They were not able to wire in the original amp, mic, antenna, or steering wheel controls. I did receive an immediate refund on the steering wheel control components that I had requested to be installed since they were unable to install. The technicians were able to come out to the vehicle and demonstrate the performance of the device and show that everything was in working order. Overall, I will recommend people to Banging Systems though I will preface it with the fact that their customer service and sales staff need improvement. The faults in customer service were not enough to make me feel the need to take my business elsewhere but enough to make note of. Once the company improves their customer service and floor service I believe they will be recognized as a superior store. read more

They installed an auto start on my truck. While the truck was running it shut down. The lights were flickering on and off and the key would not connect back to the truck. The truck had to be towed. I went in there following day and they had me sitting there all day and ignored me. Banging Systems wouldn't even look at it to resolve the issue and told me to take it somewhere else. I went back again to see if they would give me my money back or take it off. They didn't do either. The truck isn't drivable at this point. They cause inconvenience and lost of money because of sub par work and not holding up their end. Had to make a call another local business and after explaining what happened they told me that Banging Systems messed up and should have been able to take off the auto start. I would suggest that you buy your own radio and then bring it there for them to install. Some of their items are a little bit overpriced, youll find yourself googling thing and finding them cheaper somewhere else. Becareful because some of the employees can try to fast talk you into getting specific things done to your car that is either unnecessary or not what you wanted, and some will say this and that will happen, but it might not be the expectation you are looking for. Wouldn't reccomend this place but if you do come here, come with caution. They might say one thing over the phone and when they start working on it, you'll be paying for miscellaneous stuff that you didnt know you has to pay for simply because they didn't tell you. Edit: "Because of the owners comments" (My initial point is an employee will say one thing but not mention everything, they might not mention you need this piece, or that piece to complete your radio experience. One might say "your radio will be the same, and you'll be able to use your steering wheel controls with it as before" but not mention that it requires an extra piece that you has to pay for them to install it. One would be under the impression that it would just work after you was told it would, not questioning anything else. So clearly theres some miscommunication issues with some employees here. Ive been gaslighted here made to feel as if I got some sort of deal when I didn't, "Oh, I didn't charge you for blank"...when you really did, and I was there when you went over everything and added it all up. I've had an employee try to play with my intelligence and use mind tricks on me here!
