So happy Bangkok Thai is still going strong! Best Thai that I had in Cbus and customer service is quick and always friendly. (Annie always remembered my to-go order-although not too surprised as I was there almost weekly!) I could never get enough of their pak boong or morning glory dish. If you want the best Thai food in the city, this place is IT! I got the Pad Kanar Duck Spicy. It's a stir fry with brown sauce; loaded with chunks of garlic and crunchy Chinese Broccoli with slices of duck meat! You can get it with chicken or pork but I love the duck. Deeeelicious! I've been coming here for 3 decades and it's been consistently great. The baby spring rolls were hot, tasty and crunchy. This spring rolls are not overloaded with cabbage. They have pork and shrimp and taste so much better in my opinion than the Chinese eggroll. The moo-satay was grilled to perfection and comes with the peanut sauce! Oh my...yummy in my tummy. My husband got the Bangkok steak. It's a sliced flavorful thin steak with spicy dipping sauce and a side of rice. My son got the chicken fried rice. He enjoyed it. We always stop at Bangkok when we are on that side of town, it's always a treat! After Covid, they did takeout only but now you can order your food in advance and there's a few tables where you can sit and eat. You just don't get a waitress. Came here for a lunch on a weekday, got the pad kee mao with tofu. It's odd that you pay first and give tip before you eat. Everything is served in plastic / one-time disposables which I'm not a fan of. My pad kee mao was basically a ton of noodles with some tofu, it was really boring and not that enjoyable. Pretty much just a big pile of noodles. The flavor and spiciness was good, I just wish there were more vegetables in the noodles. Pricing is okay, came out to be around $13 post-tax. read more

I ordered my food at the counter and they told me it would be 20min, so I went next door to shop at their grocery. When I came back, there were a handful of families dining in and a few others I saw at the grocery next door who were waiting for their takeout. I got Thai iced coffee, gaeng curry with chicken, spicy fried rice with chicken, and pork pad kra pao. The woman at the counter told me that the default heat level is 3. I told them to do level 3 for the curry and 4 for the rice and pad kra pao. Much to my shock, spice level 4 had a nice amount of heat but wasn't spicy enough for me. It made my nose run for sure! But I wanted it to burn LOL. Prices aren't bad for what you're getting. Portions seemed generous and they do put quite a lot of meat in the rice. They're pretty popular in the area. I highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant! My son and I get the beef pad Thai and/or the pad see ew usually. We've tried other dishes and they are consistent in quality and generous portions. They are also friendly which is an added bonus. If I could give them 10 stars I would! This place really is a gem. The menu is diverse, the food is always excellent and plentiful. They don't skimp on the meat. I usually get Chicken Pad Thai when I go there, and it is the best Pad Thai in Columbus. I've gotten many other things, too, which are all very good (and fresh) too. Based on a recommendation, we tried this place out today for lunch. The restaurant itself is dark and a little sad, but the food was delicious! We started with the mini spring rolls which arrived at our table very hot and crispy. They had wonderful flavor and we dipped them in the sauce that came with them-very good! We also had the Tom Yum soup. It was perfect, citrus-y, spicy and had plump, fresh shrimp and it also came with a bowl of rice. Lastly, we had the shrimp pad Thai. I have only found one great Thai restaurant since moving to Columbus. I was hoping to make it two after reading all of the reviews. It is a bit out of the way, so it has taken awhile to cross it off the list. They are operating as carry out only. When you arrive, the restaurant entrance is on the far right. It shares the shopping plaza with an attached grocery. My bad for not specifying the heat level on the veggie Panang curry. It was crazy hot! It also lacked any real variety of veggies. The chicken pad prik, on the other hand, just lacked flavor. The rice was not light or nutty as jasmine rice usually is. It tasted just like regular boiled white rice. So far, nothing can top Thai Grille but it's always fun to have a food adventure. read more

Thai food is some of my favorite cuisine!! I had heard so much about the authentic Thai food in Columbus, I just had to check it out! First off, this isn't located in the best area and the building doesn't have the cosmetic appeal you might expect, but if you can overlook that, I think you'll love the food. Right now, it is a carry out only place...no dine-in due to Covid. Also expect to wait. Even though it wasn't busy, my order took awhile to get. My order: 2- Spring Rolls - so good! I think they had cinnamon or some spice in them that made them unique. Get these! Bangkok Steak - this marinaded beef steak was tender and flavorful. Very small portions, but yummy. Pad Ped Nor Mai - this is one of my favorite dishes and they did a great job with it. Panang Curry Chicken - this was simply chicken in a panang curry sauce. Although delicious, I expected there to be some vegetables with it. Either way, I think this is always a delicious dish. Overall the food was delicious but I'm not sure I would drive out of the Colunbus area to come to this destination. If they offered delivery on DoorDash I might order from there. I have to drive by here from time-to-time for work so I could see me stopping by to take some Thai food home. Nongs Thai in the Grandview area would likely still be my preferred choice. It's much closer. I do want to say that I spoke with the owner and she was super friendly and helpful. That goes a long way. I've always loved Thai food. Even though it's takeout only now, Bangkok is still by far our favorite, and the most authentic, Thai place in Columbus. When we had a Thai exchange student living with us for a year, we brought her here. She literally cried because it tasted just like home! If you're looking for some delicious and authentic Thai food, come here! It's located in a small building and looks sort of rundown, but forget the looks and come get the good food. Right now, the restaurant is only offering carry out and no dine in. You can order over the phone or in the restaurant. There's not much parking out front, but it works for carry out. The restaurant also has a small store connected to it, where you can buy other Thai items. When they were doing dine in, the dining space was almost always completely full. Even now, with carry out, they get massive orders daily and so there is a bit of a delay on orders. I absolutely love their Pad See Ew and Papaya Salad, as well as their fried rice and soups. Honestly, you really can't go wrong with any dish! Make sure you know the spice levels because some items may be be very spicy. This time, we got Pad See Ew, Fish Cakes, Papaya Salad, and Spicy Fried Rice. The Pad See Ew was seasoned and cooked very well and delicious, it's one of my go-to favorites. The Papaya Salad was delicious as always and so nostalgic. Overall, everything was good and made well, you can tell it's homemade and it's comforting. The only downsize to having a small business and delicious food is the wait time. We were told it would be 20 mins, but it was about 45 mins to get our food. Also, the location is a bit of a drive and I wish they would open another location closer to central Columbus. A great place for delicious Thai food! You can't go wrong with really anything. The Bangkok grocery and restaurant is now only a grocery store with a carry out only restaurant that close by 6P. I guess Covid changed the restaurant to becoming a dine-in place full time, so there isn't much to comment on the ambience. I think this restaurant still has the best Thai food in town, hands down. If possible, call in advance as it takes about 30 mins for the food to be prepared and there is literally nothing to do in the vicinity. Alternatively, you can order and go to the grocery store next door for shopping. We got the chicken satay (very good), the Pad Kee Mao (excellent -- the flat noodles were delicious), and the Gaeng curry (excellent as well). read more

Ever since Covid, I've been disappointed. The hours are terrible. No table service. Closes at 6 pm. No updated menu prices. Our pad Thai had less flavor than usual and was dry. The nam tok salad was half the size it used to be and the beef was tough and overcooked with one piece of lettuce. Passing back through Columbus on my way back to Memphis I figured I'd check out the Thai cuisine close to Interstate 71. This was the highest rated. I won't disagree till I get to try a competitor someday. I ordered Pad Prick ($13 with chicken) - not familiar with it but I was driving and it was one of the spiciest dishes I could find, so . Turned out to not be my favorite, but it was pleasingly hot (you have about 5 heat levels you can specify - a nice option). The serving size was very good and it was ready when they said it would be. Second time getting take out at Bangkok. Ordered the same thing both times to check consistency, almost everything held up! Super easy to call in the order and ease of being able to ask questions a plus! Friendly staff both times, clean inside but only available for carry out as of 5/30/21. Ordered the combination Pad See Ew. It was still nice and hot when I got home. Not a saucy dish by nature, but still flavorful! I mostly got the combination so I could test out all the meat options so I have a better reference for next time. I would probably go for the beef, shrimp, or ask if they could just load up on that tasty Chinese Broccoli . If you're looking for a little controlled heat get a side of the hot oil, I personally just like the chunky bits, because while the oil is yummy.... it's still oil‍. I Also noticed large containers of the tasty stuff for sale at the counter! Also got the Beef Jerky off the App menu. The first time I remember it being a tad more rendered down and dehydrated (it's jerky) but tender! This time a bit more fat, lil less tender and maybe like the sugars started to burn when it was warmed (I think by frying). Still really tasty and worth a try, especially with a nice little ball of Sticky Rice. If you haven't tried it give it a try! It's served in a baggie to help keep it from drying out. You already know that it's going to be an amazing Asian restaurant when you have to walk through the grocery store to go inside. It's a pretty small restaurant, but smells absolutely amazing. We were sat down right away and the waitress was quick to bring us out water. We felt bad because we could not decide and the waitress kept coming back and forth. There are so many options on their menu that it does take forever. Everything sounds amazing from the soups to the stir fried noodles. I cannot wait to come back to try everything. My friend got the chicken pad Thai and the coconut milk Tom yum gai. I did not try her soup, but I must say the pad Thai at Bangkok was probably one of the best pad Thais I have had so far! I got the Tom yum gai (sweet and sour chicken soup with mushrooms). It was perfectly sour and sweet for me. They give plenty of chicken, but I wish there were more mushrooms! The reason I gave the review a 3 was because of the waitress. She did not refill our waters the hour and a half we were there until we asked. When it came time for the check, we asked her if she could split it since my friend and I were paying separately; she did not do it. That was not as big of a deal though. We both then asked for to go boxes for our food. She only brought out one box for my friend even though my friend had leftover rice, pad Thai, and soup. I was not sure how she was going to fit in everything. You don't want to put your rice into your soup to bring home or else everything will get soggy. The waitress tried to tell us the one box was enough...we kept asking for more and she eventually brought us out some. Overall, I would most definitely come back for the food! Love this place. Our family has eaten there for well over fifteen years. I've never had a bad item off the menus. There is some slight variance in spiciness depending on the cook over the years, but the ladies running the counter have learned what we like and make sure their instructions are very clear to the cooks. They also give me containers of fish sauce with peppers, garlic and lime as well as extra dried peppers if I want more of a kick on a particular day ( ask for them if you like it very spicy!!) wonderful people and good food. I haven't been home for a while and was craving some Thai food like mom's homecoming. I got Pad Kra Pow with minced pork (as the fatty pork typically helps with overall flavor in this dish) at spice 4. While the flavors are there (like that I saw fresh garlic and chili in the dish!) the way they minced the pork made the meat very chewy like over cooked beef. I wasn't a fan. If I came back, I'd probably go with minced chicken or a totally different dish, but the flavors are there, and that is nice.
