Came in for a sore throat among other things, but it seemed like there was already an assumption of what was causing my issues because of my background and only did tests for a few limited things, once I received the results I still didn't have an answer to my issues and was told I would have to go back for more testing if I wanted to find out more. read more

I would recommend anywhere but here, but you go to urgent care if you have a bad injury on a Saturday. The receptionist was fine--obviously more interested in my insurance info than my name or what was wrong, but that's par for the course. The doctor and Xray tech were absolutely not. The doctor was extremely rude, had no bedside manner, and was more forceful than he needed to be while assessing an injury. The X-ray tech forcefully moved my foot into position, which hurt more than the injury itself and probably exacerbated it. The person (nurse? who knows) who brought me an airboot said "I hope this is the right size" and then walked away. They wrote the wrong limb down in their notes (I know, right vs. left is hard), the doctor kept getting the names of bones wrong, and honestly I would've been better staying off at home and waiting to see a doctor worth their salt on Monday morning. I'm not sure they didn't make the injury worse jerking my foot over and over again for the X-rays. Dude should stick to X-raying inanimate objects that can't feel pain. On top of that, they make it absolutely impossible to get your own medical records. They can't figure out how to use their own portal, won't (or can't) upload it to their own portal, have difficulty receiving fax requests, etc. etc. etc. Given this, the only way to get it is in person, which is difficult when you can't drive or walk. Pretty depressing when you can't even get access to your own images after suffering at the hands of an inept X-ray tech and bumbling doctor. read more

Can I give a place zero stars? Because this is the one that truly earned it. I came to the office on a Saturday when symptoms of UTI my PCP and I were monitoring, flared up again. Because I couldn't see my doctor until the next week I went to urgent care. No word of a lie, The doctor suggested that I was MANIFESTING my symptoms. She asked me to provide a swab sample, at which point I called her back in because the swab had fresh bright red blood on it. She informed me it was from my period, which I said finished over a week previous. I let her know I have NEVER spotted bright red blood that long after my cycle However she insisted AGAIN it was from my period. Did not give me any medication. Sent me home basically telling me to relax. Less than five hours later, I was in the ER with more blood, overheated, and dizzy. The helpful staff in ER immediately identified that what I was saying was true, provided me with medication and helpful advice and sent me on my way. Banner completely WASTED my time, IGNORED what I was saying, caused me to go to the very expensive ER for something within their capacity to provide care for, and then sent me their bill for the absolute time-wasting-nothing they provided. read more

Do not come here. NP Kim denied seeing me, didn't ask me any questions. Told me to go to the hospital because I had questions about medications another doctor gave me. I have back pain. Can't find a primary to go to on a Saturday. Stuck with having to drive 20 minutes to come here, to wait an hour with an appointment for them to not ask 1 question. Tell me to leave with out any exam. Go to the hospital (for back pain). I already have medication from my own primary but I'm concerned about the volume of meds, so I come in to speak with a doctor to get a 2nd opinion and discuss the meds. No exam, no questions. A simple refusal of care. I leave as directed, mad as you can imagine. I get home and an hour and half later I'm notified of documentation for my visit. Full of lies and exaggerations. She made me seem like I'm drug seeking. I am no drug addict. I do not request narcotics, I do not take narcotics. The fact im scared of taking steroids and antibiotics together should alert these people that I don't trust medications or doctors. She lied about the time lines and statements made. She is going to try and bill my insurance for this visit and she didn't do an examination. I called after leaving to get the name of the person I intend to file a complaint on. They flat out refused to provide me that persons name. I've been to this urgent care before. There's another women who is a nurse practitioner there who is amazing. A beautiful soul. The nurses are great. Kim is the worst care provider I've ever dealt with. Do not see NP Kim. Horrible experience. I'm going to complain to board of nursing. I was suffering from an earache and live in Scottsdale but made my appointment at the Banner Urgcare location on 7th St and Camelback because I was in the area having lunch with my son (not at Dennys). I arrived a half hour early for my 2pm appointment (not planned) but they got me right in. The whole team, from the front desk staff, Teresa who took my vitals, and Nadia who treated me were all nothing short of amazing! Each very personable but also very professional. Unfortunately, I hope I never see any of them again. This should be ZERO stars. I'm shocked. I went for possibly having allergic reaction to antibiotic for a bladder infection. or a concern that a different infection had started considering i'd figured out a likely bladder infection started weeks ago. the woman doctor never asked common questions (like how's your urine, how hard it is to urinate, any odor, nothing). then proceeded to dismiss my concerns. interruptEd, downplayed my symptoms and knowledge. I had broken out in a rash or hives ALL OVER MY BODY: she said "oh it could be a shirt you wore" - I reiterated I have bumps on my butt and legs. (the red splotches had gone down so she assumed poorly). then she says I doubt it's a uti/bladder issue- you'd have an ongoing fever. That is FALSE!!! (And I had had intermittent fevers/ she just brushed it off). She dismissed everything I shared. She also said you have ovaries, This, that etc. (duh, I know my body- and I have1 ovary, and I'm older than this woman: I KNOW BLADDER INFECTIONS!). then she assumed someone asked for a urine sample as she was rushing to walk me out! I asked where we're going. she said "you're leaving, we will call you. you gave urine already didn't you?" hello. why would she not know. the nurse never asked for one. She didn't look at any information? Ridiculous. This woman has a license? then I'm getting the urine sample and it was hard to pee! there was no pen to put my information on the cup. I peered out the door asking for a pen. she (doctor) said "oh just leave it. someone will grab it". I'm like NO. then she had someone grab it. for all I know it just got put aside. Very irresponsible and disorganize. She was non-empathetic, didn't ask proper questions, insulted me, could care less that This felt serious and concerning to me. The front desk girl was like a robot Too. Horrible experience. I've never seen such 3rd world practice in the US. We are here from California visiting family. I feel like she didn't like out of state people. And maybe bc I'm white. Idk. But I'd not move here if this is the kind of medical treatment that exists. Scary. I will say the nurse/assistant that took vitals, etc. was kind. She seems the only one there I engaged with was worth her salt. Smh Hopefully I'll actually hear a correct result on the urine soon. I made an appointment online and still waited for one hour and 15 minutes. The office was nearly empty and not busy at all. I have been there many times before as have many family members and friends. We have never had any issues in the past. The Dr. came in and was extremely rude and very unprofessional. This is by far the WORST experience I've ever had at an urgent care. I came in to this location because I was in a bike accident and had severely infected burn/road rash. I was in a tremendous amount of pain because of the infection and I also feared that I had a broken bone. I expressed to the nurse that I was in a lot of pain and that the injury seemed to get worse when I put neosporin on it. The first thing they did was put a TON of neosporin on my leg despite me telling them that it irritated the wound. When I saw the doctor I expressed how much pain I was in and asked for an X-ray. She denied me an X-ray and told me if it still hurts in a few days to come back. I asked for medication for pain and she said "we typically don't do that here". I again expressed my concern about how much pain I was in and she told me to take ibuprofen. The doctor prescribed me antibiotics and said that I would be better in a few days when they start to kick in and fight the infection. Later that day my pain was getting worse and worse. It was excruciating. I called the urgent care center to ask once again if I could please get something for pain. The response I got was "the doctor said if you're really in that much pain go to the emergency room". I was literally being treated like a drug addict. The following day after taking my antibiotics they were making me throw up so I called the urgent care center again to ask them if they could call in some nausea medicine to the pharmacy. The receptionist said "the doctor is busy and we will call you back". I called again, same response. I called a third time and the lady rudely said "WE WILL CALL YOU WHEN THE DOCTOR GIVES AN ANSWER". They never called me back. I ended up going into the emergency room and they said that the urgent care made my burn 10x worse by applying the neosporin. They also said that I had 2nd and 3rd degree burns and that I also had a hairline fracture in my shin. The emergency room prescribed me the pain meds, nausea medication, and additional antibiotics that I needed. They also sent me to a burn clinic. This urgent care completely disregard everything I told them and treated me like a drug addict. The negligence I experienced is the worst I've ever experienced in my history of visiting medical centers. I am already in the process of filing complaints with the Arizona department of health because of the blatant disregard of my complaints. DO NOT COME HERE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. read more

A week ago around this time I went in because I had some sort of rash hives or shingles my suspect was it was shingles I've been here before I've always had great service they were busy and I didn't have to wait very long this is not my complaint my complaint is is the young PA or nurses assistance or whatever refused to even listen to what I had to say they asked me to have you had chicken pox yes I had chickenpox for the h5 so then if it's not like chickenpox or it is kickbox then I'm assuming my shingles oh it's not shingles what he means I mean it looks like shingles you know anyway I was totally missed diagnosed because I couldn't take it anymore and I went to the emergency room a couple of days later and lo and behold I have shingles excruciating very painful shingles. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I was in the facility for over 3 HOURS. They had an emergency with one of the patients that came in, but they should have had a system where there should have been an on-call PA or doctor. Also, if the wait was going to be this long, I believe that the receptionist should have said something to me off the bat. I was feeling super weak, and I think honestly staying there for that amount of time made my fever go higher. Aside from that, one thing that baffled me the most was that patients CANNOT use the restroom. For over a three hour wait, they want me to walk to Denny's to use the bathroom. They said restrooms are for "emergencies" only. Patients who go there are sick or hurting in one way shape of form, and if we are paying money for their services, they should at least have the compassion to let us use the bathroom. Lastly, why two stars instead of one? The PA that attended to me (Rayhorn), was very nice and compassionate. Literally the only thing that saved this review to be all that terrible. But ultimately, I am never ever going back to this location. read more

Absolutely the WORST. On 08/28/2023 I suffered a fall in my driveway. Lots of scrapes, but more concerning a possible hip fracture or break. I went to the BANNER URGENT CARE on north 7th Street and Camelback. I have been seen at another Banner Urgent Care last year for an unrelated matter. My insurance and file are in the system. An incredibly rude, dismissive front office female informed me I could not be seen without the 2023 insurance card. I explained it is the same as last year and verified I was in their system. But that's not good enough for treatment. Verifying your coverage for a past patient seems too big a task. I was denied being seen without that card. I left there and went to NEXTCARE at 17th Street & Thomas where my insurance was verified in less than 2 minutes, my wounds were dressed and I was sent for an X-ray of my hip. Wish I could give negative stars. This place sucks!! This was the biggest waste of my time. Called to see if they took workman's comp. They said yes. They asked what happened I told them my daughter had fallen at work, and hurt her back. They said they did lumbar x-rays. So I set an appointment. The doctor was rude, said that I had called about her knee not her back. Everything we filled out spoke of her back, my call was about her hurting her back in a fall. Now they say they don't do lumbar x-rays. She has a deep bruise on her back, plain as day. Doctor said " what am I supposed to be looking for? I don't see anything?" I called back and the girl at the desk said "you said she fell and hurt her knee. And I told you we do x-rays but not lumbar." My daughter was seen today at this urgent care. Front office staff was very friendly, welcoming and efficient. Teresa was the MA and was very compassionate, kind and professional. Kimberly was the NP and was very professional, gentle and thorough. She took the time to educate us on the discharge instructions and prescriptions and she patiently answered all our questions. We made an appointment ahead of time and everything went very smoothly. Very thankful to have this clinic in our neighborhood. read more

But I would like to say the back office or medical staff are very kind and did a good job. My roommate has a serious case of strep throat we asked them if we could get her in urgently as non of the other places would take her insurance. She couldn't breathe and she wasn't feeling good. Last I checked, Covid-19 is still deadly and people in Arizona are dying. That's why you should skip coming here. The folks at Banner Urgent Care have all gotten their shots, so their Covid precautions have been loosened. I mean, what do they care now? There's only a 5% chance they'll catch it themselves now that they've gotten their shots. But, for the rest of us who are waiting, we now have to deal with nurses like I saw at this facility who really seem to think it's OK to hack and cough with their masks down below their noses (instead of covering their nose) while doing their job. After walking in and seeing the front desk nurse coughing with her nose uncovered, then touching her mask, then touching the pen she handed to me, my faith in Banner instantly plummeted. Then, hearing someone hacking away coughing in the back, and seeing the new signs posted saying that Covid numbers were going down so Banner now allows guests accompany patients here, I marched myself right out of there. Banner: it might be nice for all of you who've gotten your shots already, but the rest of us are still vulnerable. If I can't rely on health care workers to take Covid precautions seriously, I'm not going to go here. Tried to charge me $75 to get seen even when told the copay was usually $20. With this terrible Flu going around.... I had an appointment with my Primary Care physician. However it was over a week away and after trying everything I could over the counter... I couldn't take it anymore. Decided to go to The Banner Urgent Care on 7th/Camelback. Was able to book on line and get my slot. Walked into a clean quiet place. Fantastic front desk. And a screen displayed of whom is next and wait time. Called back promptly after filling routine paperwork. Nurse was professional. The Physicians Assistant-came in shorty there after. She was kind professional and listened. Diagnosed quickly and became a breathing treatment right then. Walked out of there in total about 1 Hour 30 mins. Felt like I was the only client. Never felt rushed . I'm writing this tonight feeling at least 60% better than I was this afternoon. And I know tomorrow will be even better. Thank you. read more

I was recommended to this facility by my workers comp provider. I walked in at 8:03 am. There was one other person in the waiting room but before I could approach the desk, the receptionist said "we have no provider you will have to sit and wait until they arrive and then i can check you in." So I waited for about 10 minutes until the provider arrived. The receptionist checked in the first person and when it was my turn I told them I was there for a work comp claim and she said Ooookkkk. She asked if I have the info and i said yes. I filled out the form which asked for a policy number. I filled out the info but I asked if the policy number was the same thing as the claim number. The lady said it was. She took my paperwork and I returned to the waiting area. There was one other person in the waiting room and she and her son waited until the receptionist finished my paperwork. Once I was called back, I was taken into a room where they took my vitals. Then the NP came in and asked me what the issue was. I explained that I was there for PT as a referral for my work comp, I was told that they don't do PT and I would have to go to Banner PT. I asked them why I wasn't told that when I checked in and no one seemed to know. Since they couldn't treat me, I took my paperwork and left. I would not recommend this facility based on the lack of knowledge by the receptionist nor the friendliness of the entire staff. read more

Went there for my second time (walk in) on a busy SAT afternoon. I was placed pretty deep in the cue/line, but my wait was approx. 50 minutes. I think it helped that I had registered there before, and was in their system. You can make online appointments too, but I've never done this. The place is clean. Masks are required. I believe they accept most insurance plans and/or cash. I had a COVID test, and I rec'd the results via phone in approx. 24 hours. read more

The Dr. that took care of my stitches was very nice and we joked around a bit which made the experience quite a bit better. The facility is always clean and comfortable. Came here on a Sunday and was seen very quickly. Genesis, the receptionist, was very friendly! Everyone was actually very nice. Came here with my wrist in severe pain, clearly swollen and not the same as my other wrist. Immediately got an X-ray and was told the provider would be with me shortly. As I was waiting for my X-ray, I was told it would be about 15 minutes. Cool, I get that. While I was waiting I couldn't help but hear the staff ordering Chinese food. Seemed like that's all they cared about. When my results were in, the provider just told me everything looks perfect and to take some ibuprofen... Ummm when my wrist looks like it does, I can guarantee something isn't right. Obviously X-rays don't lie, but he never even examined my wrist. Didn't suggest I get an mri or anything else. He just asked me what happened and told me maybe I slept on it...No, not true. I cannot bend my wrist/hand, move my fingers without pain or even drive properly. Cannot even use my left arm at all. I just wish he actually touched around my wrist and gave me things to do besides pop pills. Anyway...I wasted $75 for a service I don't even feel I received. Again, nice staff and super clean inside. Just didn't seem to care. Hope the Chinese food was worth this review UPDATE (3/4, the next day) I'm in severe pain! Safe to say the meds didn't help with pain at all. Had to go get a Covid test in order to return back to work for other employees within my working space had tested positive. I tested Neg. Paid my Co-pay of $45 and was told the rest would be covered my Insurance. 9 months later - I get a bill for $165. Was never processed. I won't be going back to a Banner Health. Went in because I shut my finger in the car door and the doctor that helped me was so incredibly caring and nice and actually made me laugh. However when I went back a follow up a few days later I also had to have some papers signed for me missing work, the receptionist at the front told me to go somewhere else because they do not give out notes or fill out forms for employers at all. I asked if I could please still see the doctor because I was in quite a bit of pain & wanted him to look at my finger. The receptionist instead gave me a list of other clinics to go to. I explained to her I preferred to go here because of the great service I got from the doctor but she refused to help me after this.
