My experience with Bansmer Law was extremely disappointing. In the beginning, they presented themselves as knowledgeable and capable, and I genuinely believed my case was in good hands. Unfortunately, that confidence quickly faded as the firm chose to neglect my case despite clearly knowing what needed to be done. There were several avoidable mistakes in my filings, and communication became nearly impossible -- calls, texts, and emails went unanswered for long stretches of time. I ultimately had to complete much of the process on my own due to their lack of follow-through. What's especially frustrating is that the firm seems to devote more energy to responding to negative reviews than to addressing the concerns of the clients who paid for their services. Very unprofessional staff that work for Erica. Staff member had flat out called me a liar, when explaining an issue that was discussed with erica without knowing any facts on the matter. They are rude and unhelpful! At first they are very friendly and ACT willing to help but once they obtain their deposit, the services are horrible. You are billed for literally everything from missed phone calls to emails and there is no progress on the case. You will have to wait months to get an update just to find out the case has not moved since! They are not willing to help, they are not for their clients, unresponsive, unfriendly horrible service. I had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Bansmer and her team on two occasions. Mrs. Bansmer successfully handled my initial divorce proceedings and exceeded my expectations with the result she was able to achieve. Most recently, several years after my divorce was finalized, I retained Mrs. Bansmer for spousal support reduction. We agreed on a flat rate for the trial and there were no additional costs outside of our signed agreement. It took 8 months and over $4600 later for Mrs. Bansmer to give me advice on how to proceed with my guardianship visitation case. During this 8 month span, I had to follow up with her over and over or I felt I would've never heard back from her. I never felt she ever treated my case with any sort of priority or attn that was reasonably expected. Multiple times I had to go get court docs that she claimed was taking the courts months to return to her. It took me 48 hours to obtain the same docs she took months to attempt to obtain, unsuccessfully. When I expressed my concerns about being charged an excessive amount and the time it took for her to finally get me advice, she quickly decided I breached our client/attorney agreement and walked away. Not the experience I expected from such a successful attorney. Please consider other options prior to making a commitment to Mrs. Bansmer's representation. I met with Erica to discuss my existing divorce and pending court date. Erica was thorough and professional. At the end of our meeting she was blunt and honest with her opinions of the potential outcomes. She provided me with several options to address the case. One was a lengthly and costly court battle, the other was a simple cost savings resolution that would save me lots of money but sacrificing her opportunity to make thousands. Thankfully I was able to negotiate the less costly plan with my ex-wife. There was an opportunity for her to simply state that the case had to see a court room and charge me thousands of dollars but she didn't. She educated me and gave me the opportunity to chose. She was a tremendous help and continued to follow-up while I settled my issues. She was attentive, professional, courteous and, above all, honest.
