We started off with warm olive bread with whipped butter (perhaps the best butter we've had) and a chilled melon, mint yogurt shooter amuse bouche. We then moved onto the yellowfin tartare and Arethusa Farm Dairy artisanal cheeses featuring a variety of their delicious cheeses, including their acclaimed Gouda. For our mid course we had the braised duck dumplings, calamari stuffed with squid ink risotto, and sweet corn and ricotta agnolotti. This was our favorite part of the meal with the calamari and agnolotti being standout dishes for us. For entrees we went with the tamarind glazed black cod with black rice and lemongrass sauce and the pork tenderloin. With finished off with the famous Arethusa Farm dairy ice cream (mint, strawberry, and sweet cream chocolate trip) which truly channeled the essence of farm fresh and ended what was a delicious feast of flavors. This is amongst our favorite farm to table restaurants and def would reccomend this for a special occasion

Hanger steak was spot on. Uni toast!!!! Man that was tasty. What could be better: They badly need sound baffling - its way too hard to hear. Cocktails were meh. Wine list could be broader - they have some nice wines its just not a very good diversity. Would have loved to sit in the patio. Overall would totally go back

Stopped for a bite and a beer before going to infinity in Norfolk for a show last week…read more Ordered 2 beers, a burger and chicken cordon Bleu flatbread. Beers were the best part ! Food was disappointing. Flat bread overcooked, and mustard was too heavily applied. Fries were awful . Staff was friendly, but service very slow . Offered 10percent off the overcooked over mustard-ized flatbread, or make another one. Due to time constraints I had to eat what I could...which is how I know how bad it was. I feel paying 49$ for the experience was a total rip off. Changing the oil and cleaning fryers really makes a difference in the quality of a fried potato! This was a disappointing experience

The wings we ordered were not the Tai Chilli we ordered but the Jamaican Jerk?. SERVICE; as you have already read, possibly not the cooks fault but our server. Seemed flustered and unsure of daily specials. AMBIANCE; If I thought it wasnt too loud last time, I was wrong. So loud with just other tables talking it was giving me and some of my lunch mates a headache. If you want a quieter area to dine in, I highly recommend the lower level.

With brewery experience dating back to the 1980s, Littlefield had owned and operated Harbor Lights Brewing Company in Dana Point, California during the 1990s. A couple of non-brewery jobs later, Littlefield had relocated to Connecticut and looked to open a new brewery. He purchased a 7-acre property along the banks of the Housatonic River in New Milford. In addition to brewing good beer, Littlefield's goal was to create a venue that the community would appreciate and enjoy. The brewery features a large rustic taproom, a stage for live musical acts to perform, and a large seasonal beer garden under a pavilion. In addition to the housemade beer, HRB also serves wine, cider, craft cocktails, and a large menu of delicious food from their in-house kitchen. In May 2024, Littlefield purchased the former Quirk Works Brewing & Blendery space in Danbury for HRB to use as a secondary production facility. I recently visited Housatonic River Brewing for the first time. I had heard that they host a lot of live music acts and I purchased a ticket to see NYC-based Rush tribute band "Moving Pictures". I'm a HUGE Rush fan, so I was really excited to see the group perform. I arrived over an hour before the show started and grabbed a table close to the stage. There was a modest crowd when I first arrived, but the whole taproom was packed by the time the show started. After looking over the menu, I started off with a plate of "Smoked Macaroni & Cheese" (smoked bacon jalapeño macaroni & cheese) and "Cornbread" (w/ cinnamon honey butter). Afterwards, I moved onto a "Gourmet Brisket Grilled Cheese" (three cheeses between perfectly grilled rustic sourdough toast w/ bacon & jalapeños & fries). Everything was fantastic, especially that heavenly grilled cheese! Throughout my visit, I enjoyed pours of "Uncle Bock" (Doppelbock), "Less Gentle On My Mind" (Double New England IPA), and "Remedy" (Imperial Stout). They were all good, especially the latter two. Moving Pictures also gave an excellent performance to the very energetic crowd. Overall, I had quite an enjoyable evening and I hope to return to HRB!

You order on your own all the way in the back of the place at the bar but your order is brought to you. Weird feel to the place, like line dancing or bad karaoke is going to break out at any time! Their pub food (menu) is amply portioned, quite good and fairly priced! Singularly the BEST burgers I've had anywhere in CT, hands down! Chicken cheesesteak with hot peppers is a close second -- strangely though, no 'real' Philly cheesesteak. Some of their evening specials include a beer which you never see anymore! A $10 dessert pretzel is a bit steep!
