If you are seriously interested in appropriate and thorough instruction and testing for a CCW permit, then Marc is your man. I chose him for my renewal, and during the process it became clear that the process and training for my initial permit was just a bare minimum. Carrying is a serious commitment, and your training should reflect that. Don't go for bare minimum, go with Marc. His methods are thorough, personal, thoughtful and he really cares. Not surprised to see all 5-star reviews here. I just finished taking my 16-hours of training with Marc and was very pleased. I was not new to firearms, but was a first time CA CCW applicant. The training was thorough but not at all boring. He split it up into four, four hour sessions with a perfect mix of book work, role playing and range time. I just completed my CCW training with Marc and can't say enough positive things about my experience. When I got my acceptance letter and started looking for an instructor from the approved list I was disappointed three times by trainers that made appointments and then simply disappeared, apparently many on the list are something less than professional. As it turned out my early disappointments were a blessing in disguise because they led me to Marc and his program. He was responsive and professional right from the start, we spoke on the phone for quite a while and then scheduled appointments for the first two classes at my home and the range qualification session the following week, his follow through was spot on. To be honest I was a little uneasy about a stranger coming to my home, but I was quickly 100% comfortable because of his personality and professionalism. He obviously cares very much about his students, his goal is not to simply pass you along and make a buck but rather to do his utmost to provide the training and insights necessary to teach you how to be safe and to act responsibly. He delves into all aspects of what it means to be CCW holder, from the legal to the phycological issues that you may face as a result of having to defend yourself. His teaching style is very calming which really helps to get you focused and bring out your best. He's extremely patient and supportive and makes learning fun as well as educational, I was sorry that the class was over, I wanted to keep going and learning more skills. Bottom line is if you are looking for a CCW class that offers superior training and education from a dedicated professional who is skilled and fun to learn with I don't think you could find a better person than Marc. My husband and I took his gun training class for our CCW renewal, and can't say enough about how blessed and fortunate we were in choosing Banzai Operations. We realized how little we were taught the first time around with a different instructor. Marc gave us "hands on" personal gun safety training, was extremely patient with us, and made sure we understood the gravity and responsibility of gun ownership. We were outdoors at a private gun range, and were able to practice shooting from a belt clip, which is not allowed at indoor shooting ranges.
