I normally like getting my diagnostic imaging services at the West Kendall Baptist Hospital's Outpatient Services because it's close to home, but since they were booked, I scheduled the imaging service I needed here, at the main location. They did have appointments available inside the West Kendall Baptist Hospital Diagnostic Center, but that would've cost me $100 vs. Free. Health insurance companies are scammers and so are hospitals and the way they bill. What they don't tell you is that there is a big difference between the Diagnostic Center inside the hospital vs. the Outpatient Diagnostic Center (usually located inside the Medical Arts Building). With my insurance it costs $0 for imaging services in the Outpatient Diagnostic Center and $100 with the Diagnostic Center inside the hospital. It gets billed as a "hospital service." Imagine that! Sunita, the intake registration clerk was very friendly and overall pleasant. Alexandra the Xray technician was very professional, asked me a few questions before beginning. She made me feel comfortable. They take same day appointments. I was able to get in the same day. Easy process. The only thing is that I was never given a PIN to access. I had a great experience with Baptist Health Diagnostic Imaging at Kendall. Scheduling appointments is very easy--you can quickly set everything up with a simple phone call. I also found the Pine app to be very convenient for making payments and uploading documents ahead of time. I had two separate appointments, and both went smoothly and efficiently. My first visit was for an ultrasound; I arrived a little early and was seen promptly. My second visit was for an X-ray--I actually showed up an hour early, and they were able to take me in quickly and finish everything fast. Parking at the P1 area is very easy, with plenty of available spaces, which makes the visit even more convenient. .A Traumatic experience with MRI at South Miami Hospital. Firstly, my back problem prevents me from walking too far. Between finding a parking space close to the elevator and then having to cross the hospital is a problem. Secondly: the pajama type garment given me did not fit well ... uncomfortable. The equipment: long narrow metal cylinder that covered my whole body and head like a coffin. Thirdly: she gave me headphones but the music was not working ... internet problem. I almost did not endure 25 minutes of being bombarded inside a tomb. Next MRI. Told my new doctor I wanted an open MRI but she explained the resolution of images is not the same ... offered Valium and I accepted. Instead of So Miami Hosp., I chose Baptist Diagnostic Center on SW 40 St. Westchester. TOTALLY different experience. Parked in front of the door ... walked in and practically no wait. No 2 piece pajama but a robe. Technician took me to MRI room and the equipment seemed so much friendlier ... not the closed narrow coffin but a semi open friendlier equipment. I asked for the headphones and Carlos said ... those do not work. We use earplugs. A totally different experience!!! I almost fell asleep during the MRI. read more

As soon as I got there the ladies at the front were not pleasant, specifically the lady sitting on the right. She mumbled under her breath when I mentioned I was told I can be a walk in. The registration people are extremely sweet and thanks to them the experience was not the worst. The front desk people need better training as I myself work in this same building and watched them yell at one of our own patients which I ended up directing up to our suite for our team to help them. I know we all do patient experience trainings regularly but the lady who sits on the right side needs better training if she cant even be nice to a Baptist employee nor patients. I also was waiting an hour to get labs drawn for them to tell me the lab was closed today 11/14, this is not acceptable and no patient should have to experience this. read more

On 7/7/2020 ii went for a MRI and they charged me a $350 deductible for those services. When I called my insurance they told me that they had paid it full and they over charged you and need to refund your full deductible back. I called several times and spoke to Amanda, Maria, and Claudia the supervisor was supposed to call me back to help with this and never did. I am really sadden with this situation. Then they found a lump and I need further images and I contacted them and they told me that I would need to pay another $350. we are in the middle of a crisis and instead of helping one another they make it even worst. I have never had such a bad experience with any other hospital or outpatient centers. Please think before going they only care about money not your health. read more

Unfortunately, the staff are wonderful, very friendly and professional. My problem is with whom ever called me prior to my mammogram to let me know that my insurance would cover the procedure 100%. Great! 3 weeks later I get a bill for $415!!!! I called my insurance and they explained why it wasn't all covered and also told me I should always call them before a procedure to make sure if it's covered or not. I'm stuck paying $415 dollars because Baptist didn't explain it properly. I will never go to Baptist Diagnostic Center again. read more

Beware, if you call Baptist Health for an MRI they will charge you more for having the MRI at the main hospital facility that at other facilities. However they will not tell you how much more, they also may not tell you this little nugget until 24 hours prior to your MRI. I made an appointment at least one month prior, I got it at the "main hospital" because it was first available and I needed the procedure. I received a call on Monday 1 PM to advise I would have to pay $600 out of pocket, my appt was for Tuesday 9AM only a few hours away. I was also told that the insurance had not yet approved it.....when I asked when they submitted to insurance, they said Friday. Personally, I call this a SCAM. They have various rate fees, but wont tell you and wait until the last minute to tell you your out of pocket. At that point you need the service, you have already accommodated your schedule for the procedure and so you are stuck. I really like my doctors at Baptist Health, but the business practices leave much to be desired! OMG, every time I go to Baptist I get a ton of surveys wanting to know how they did ---- like an insecure teenage boyfriend. Here you go, this is how you did for you and all to see. Congratulations, Baptist Health, you win. I will keep my appointment, but that is the last diagnostic procedure I will be having at Baptist Health. read more

Dear Baptist Outpatient Services, WOW. What amazing customer service in what normally would have been such a pain in the ass... For this I am eternally grateful. The dreaded thing happened to me that all women fear - I found a lump in my right breast recently. I was at my doctor for my annual check up and showed her what I had found. She told me that she was not worried, but that I should definitely have it checked out with an ultrasound. About to refer me to Memorial Miramar Hospital, I explained to her that I lived in Miami and would prefer something down south, to which her reply was immediately "Baptist Outpatient Center". Not sure if it was out of fear or just pure procrastination, it took me almost 2 weeks from that day to make my appointment. When I finally called you to schedule, I got nothing but amazing service. Every step of the way. The phone # my doctor had given me was actually to the main hospital. The immediately provided me with the # to the Outpatient center, but also transferred me, instead of having me hang up and call back. Once I reached your center, I spoke to a very nice rep who proceeded to take my information, insurance, etc. We scheduled an appointment for just a few days later. The following day I received another call to confirm the appointment and to reconfirm my information. Awesome. So a couple of days pass and I realize I scheduled my appointment on the same night as a Board of Directors meeting at work that I had to be present at. Shoot! Time to make a change. I called in and it was just as easy as the first time. They had available appointments and I was able to keep the same time, just moved over one day. PERFECT! And again, they called the next day to reconfirm all details. Upon arrival they were very friendly and very efficient. I checked in and went straight to register with a rep. Then once that was finished, I was taken to a waiting area, where I was already being called in for my ultrasound withing 2 minutes. Then I changed in this really nice locker room area, and put all of my clothes in a locker (changed into a fun hospital gown... Gosh those are sexy! ;-) ). I was taken to another waiting room, where again I only waited about a minute and was then escorted into the ultrasound room. The procedure took about 10 minutes and then I waited while the doctor on staff read the results. Turns out everything is normal and I am A-OK! What a relief!!! And I was so glad they were at least able to tell me right then and there, which was just 2 days ago. Thank you for your amazing customer service, understanding, patience and kind bedside manners. I have been having some back problems for a while now and are getting progressively worst. Finally decided to do something about it so I went to see Dr. Dionne Casthely, D.O.. She is part of the Baptist Spine Care Group. Dr. Casthely was great and very attentive. She gave me a very thourough physical examination and send me for a variety of MRIs and Xrays to get to the bottom of my problem. Needless to say I felt very confident in her hands. read more

Today I took my grandmother to the hospital to get exams done. Her doctor prescribed a CT of her lungs, left hand x-ray (rheumatoid arthritis), and arthritis bloodwork. I have to say the staff at Baptist are the best, they took there time and helped my grandmother. Mish is the best patient representative along with Karen and Jesus. The technologist Mike was patient with my grandmother and explained to my grandmother how to place her hand for the x-ray. Jenay the lab technician as wonderful and pulled my grandmothers blood without hurting her. The Nurse Practitioner who did my grandmothers CT scan of her lungs was stupendous. She took her time and explained everything to me and my grandmother and was very patient with her. I have been going to Baptist Hospital for over 20 years and it is the best hospital in the world. Be aware!!!! If your going to the out patient center to have test done, your insurance company will be billed as if its a doctors appointment. Called my issuance company they suggested to have Baptist resubmit claim as it should be. Unfortunately, the Baptist representative was extremely rude, inconsiderate, unhelpful and crazy. This has all been a nightmare, I will never go to Baptist for any diagnostic testing again!!! read more
