I've eaten here numerous times. Every time the service and food is great. The food is always hot. And the proportion is great my friend. My friend and always split our meal and it is way more than we can eat. As far as the gentleman's comment about the price and the proportions, that's BS. You get plenty of food and for the price it's great. Go to Dallas and order you a breakfast. You'll pay the same price for half of the food that this place gives. read more

Stopped here several times. Pricces are high ffor the portion sizes you get. Quality depends on who iis cooking. You never know if it is the man wwho cleans the rest room or the woman who runs the fuel desk. They do NOT give Military discounts. Go to Smoke stack restrauant to get discounts for your servicee. This place is now opening their own liquor store next door. Food quantity is smaller in the last year or so. Prices have gone UP several times. Portion size has come down. Coffee over $2.50 per cup. Loved this place for years. Even waited out a tornado in the truck bay there with my 9 year old and 5 baby geckos!!!

I do not pass this place up. I'm an old truck driver. In the past you could find a place like this every hundred miles or so. Now they are hard to find. So this is a gem to me. You can get a meal for under $10. If you want and there is nothing on the menu that is over $15. The food is also done the way it use to be. The ingredients are real. No frozen stuff here. As a breakfast guy always looking for a great omelette, the porker omelette with added veggies and Swiss cheese was fantastic. Exactly what I was hoping for in this old school truck stop diner. Super good bacon cheeseburger! Large portions. Restaurant could use some updating... but it's good food at a local truck stop.

Don't underestimate this place. We normally just pass it by and stop at more popular truck stops, but this time when my family and I were on our way home from Dallas when our truck overheated. We had to pull off to let it cool down and ended up here. The food is really good and reasonably priced. It's a very down home kind of place. The staff was absolutely fabulous! Our waitress was wonderful, she was super attentive and so sweet! Before we left she gave us info about hotels we could stay in and the name of a mechanic we could talk to in the morning! I can guarantee that we won't be just passing by Bar-B on our way home next time!!! read more

Today I had the worst meal of my life. Waited for 35 minutes for 3 bbq sandwiches and fries. It was absolutely disgusting. We each took 2 or 3 bites and walked out. For a truck stop, this place isn't bad. The food is actually better than numerous "restaurants" in the Metroplex, plus, their bathrooms are always clean. Some of the friendliest people working here, as well. The only bad thing is that if you are inside to eat, smoking is allowed. We stopped in here on Sunday the 15th of june 2014 The waitress was always smiling made several trips to our table and was a joy The wife and I ordered a senior chicken fried steak meal Our son ordered the 8 oz meal which was about 5.00 higher These meals come with a one trip all you can get salad bar which is very good We get our meal and his steak was considerably larger than ours The meal with the salad bar will fill you up for sure We saw other meals and they were very nice portions as well On Sunday I would have given it a high 4 star ranking as the everything was great On Monday(today the 16th) we stop in at around 6:30 P.M. The wife orders a senior meal and the son and I both order the 8 ounce meal What a real let down when she brings the meal out and all of the chicken fried steaks are the very same size could not been a half oz. difference in the 3 of them The side dish which was peas were not even warm they were cold I told the waitress and she says let me check and never came back She hardly came around and not in a really cheerful mood as the young lady the day before They were out of sugar and could not make sweet tea ( I guess it was against the rules to take sugar off of the table and make it ) I have no problem paying for a good meal I hate being taken advantage of.
