We live half the year in Montana and go to the Discount Tire there so when I had a slow leak I found this Discount Tire. Seems they are not affiliated. They took my truck in and found nail in the tire. They had me fixed and back on the road in about 1/2 an hour. NO CHARGE! Very thankful for the fast service. If you have a Daughter here in Stephenville, do NOT let her take her car to this shop. My daughter had a dead battery...long story...this shop UNPLUGGED her alternator and sent her on her way with a warning that the car would die soon when I suggested she take the car elsewhere because they were closing. I had to drive down from Dallas to bring her a battery, only to find the unplugged alternator (and the battery was fine, it was a simple drain from a light being left on). You would think a "college town" shop would be responsible to help a young lady....NOPE! Oh, the owner was going to a check the videos and get back with me...never happened. Hate to rip an independent business, but this was such blatant scamming of a young lady (quoted $400 for an alternator that is perfectly good) followed by the BS promise to call me back from the owner. I strongly recommend you stay away from this scam shop!!! read more

I have bought a good number of tires with this company. It's the only place I suggest in the ville. They are not associated with Discount Tire corporation. Make sure to check your tires after though.. I have lost two lug nut covers because they didn't put them on tight. They do offer free rotations when you purchased tires through them. They typically are fast. read more

I took my car there 12 days prior to get the my tires balanced. They stripped a lug nut stud and charged ME to fix it. 12 days later my first time on the highway my car starts shaking horribly. I limp it along back to discount tire, I thought it might be a wheel bearing going out and was wondering if they could fix it. I drop it off and a few hours later they call me back saying whoever worked on it last didn't tighten the lug nuts and the wheel was about to fall off. After hearing this I told them they were the last ones that touched it and it was only a week ago. When I went in to pick my car up Jerry the man behind the counter said It wasn't their fault. He even told me that my brakes looked new so whoever did the brakes probably left them loose, I told him my brakes were over six months old and you guys worked on it a week ago. He told me I didn't know what I was talking about cause " it wasn't a week ago it was 12 days" after that I couldn't take their bullshit anymore and left. Do not take your vehicle there, They do piss poor work, If that tire fell off on the highway I could have skidded into the ditch or an oncoming car and have been killed. read more

I've been a Discount Tire customer for several years. Service has always been very good. Recently I took my Toyota in and asked the lady at the counter if they could reset the tire sensors after rotating the tires. I told her that I didn't want them to rotate the tires unless they could reset the system. She said she would check. The guy at the counter took my keys, and an instrument and went outside. I followed him out. He climbed under the vehicle and apparently reset the system. He handed me the keys. He never said a word the whole time! I asked him about the rotation. He said "You want them rotated?" I said yes, that's why I came in. He took the keys and I went inside. When he came in he complained to the lady behind the counter that he had done the work for nothing. He took the keys again and drove my vehicle to the shop. After some time he brought me the keys, again never saying a word. I asked how much I owed. He motioned for me to check with the lady at the counter. When I drove off the low pressure warning light came on. There were no warning lights prior to them rotating the tires. I checked the pressure in all tires, including the spare and went back to Discount Tire. I told the guy at the counter that the warning light was on. He again took an instrument went outside and checked the system and said the light would go off after driving a few miles. That was not the case, the warning light is still on after several days. It is very disappointing that not only could they complete the job, but the guy at the counter was very rude and unfriendly. Discount Tire is not the same friendly, efficient operation I had experienced in the past. read more
