As for healthy, I think that is stretching the truth a bit. The burger was cooked medium rare. It was nicely cooked but needed more flavor. The tomato ketchup that comes with the chip was actually the best thing of the meal. The chips were a bit soggy and the salad was just a tad bit plain. Overall, nothing met or lost on this food experience. I was hungry, needed to eat, and this fulfilled my stomach.

They market themselves as providing a sustainable and ethical product but given their audience at the airport is just about to burn a whole heap of carbon to go on their jollies - it might be a little lost on them. I think they could have made more of a feature of this perhaps because really it just looked just seemed like any other airport café with a range of sandwiches and variations on things that can be grilled: burgers, eggs etc. Given the time of day I just opted for a decaf cap. The service was swift (big tick in an airport) though a little transactional. The coffee itself was decent, if a little weak and dominated by creamy milk. Not a bad thing for me but if you like more coffee than frothy it could be an issue. Can't say it really stood out from crowd but given my low expectations of airport offerings - it was pretty good.

Fortunately, that wasn't me this morning but could be for many other travelers. As a Priority Pass member, Bar Roma was one of the two choices in this terminal. The food is reasonably priced considering I'm in Australia. I ordered a flat white and the Breakfast Bruschetta with Avocado. One sip of the flat white reminded me that the stuff I drank in the States tastes nothing like it except for an Australian breakfast bistro in Santa Monica. The taste of the coffee was very evident. The toppings on the bruschetta was split into three sections: diced tomatoes, sliced avocado and the scrambled eggs. The eggs were okay. It took several bites and making sure to include the bread before I could experience the flavor. I stoped myself from adding any salt or pepper to cover any hint of the taste. The sliced avocado and diced tomatoes were definitely more flavorful. If I were to order the bruschetta again, I would make sure to place them on top of the eggs for a better experience. As I alluded previously, if you had just arrived hungry and your next meal won't be for several hours after takeoff, your stomach will appreciate you getting a quick fill up.

The seats in Bistro Fax are comfortable and the atmosphere is pleasant and you don't have to watch someone else's dog lick its own private parts. As an added bonus, there is free WiFi that comes very close to broadband speed, unlike the sluggish GPRS speeds offered for free in some establishments. Actually, please ignore my rating. The place is shit and I want it for myself :-)

After being seated, the young man, brought us glasses of chilled water while we waited for the server to take our morning beverage and breakfast orders. Our cheery server, Marissa, came by shortly after delivering another table's order and we were ready to order right away. FOOD & BEVERAGE: -Sticky Chai Tea: I requested the chai tea as its blend of natural spices with soy milk appealed to me on this slightly chilly morning. As I poured the steamy steeping hot chai tea through the strainer into the glass, its full aromas wafted towards me as I "aerated" or pulled the tea. $8.50 AUD -Proscuitto Toastie: Triple cheese (Gruyere, mozzarella, & scamorza), sliced proscuitto, truffle bechamel, & pickles on soy linseedsourdough. Although we're slightly lactose-intolerant, my husband decided to order this "upscale" ham and cheese sandwich. It was so rich in flavors and textures that he could only eat half the portion even though he was tempted to finish both sandwich halves. Notably, the toasted sourdough's crisp, crunchy, exterior and warm chewy interior tasted of caramelization and nuttiness. Its tangy sourness offered a savory balance to the creamy, slightly nutty and sweet scamorza and mozzarella cheeses. The creamy cheeses balanced the savory saltiness from the proscuitto and Gruyere. $24 AUD -Truffle Mushroom Toast: I selected this open faced toasted sourdough sandwich which was generously topped with roasted mixed mushrooms, confit garlic and truffle butter, thyme, goat cheese, crispy leeks, and poached eggs. The roasted mixed mushrooms flavors were enhanced "just right" with the truffle butter without being overpowered. This vegetarian sandwich was protein-packed, filling, and very flavorful. $26 AUD We took our time over breakfast while discussing our Sydney exploration plans at this clean, bright, and friendly cafe. I did like the decor of the place, very modern clean lines and with a travel theme. They have a fair wine/beer list that looks like a cool place to have a drink if you were in this part of town.

The price is high of course, but cheaper than some of the other hotels in Sydney. A couple times we had a server forget to bring a coffee we ordered, but not a big deal.
